I bought Rain last Tuesday. A hot day - and the following ones should become even hotter. Actually I only wanted to visit Douglas quickly to have a look, but since Rain was on offer at a competitive price, I took him with me at short notice. At 29€/100ml I didn't have to think long, because I still know the scent from earlier. For a long time I had the summer rain of Essence as a substitute, because Rain was too expensive for me at that time. And then at some point, he wasn't around anymore.

Rain was re-released some time ago and I think he smells a little different. The old version smelled more like rain, this one is more flowery, similar to Sunflowers, only fresher, lighter and more aquatic. Of course I can also be wrong, maybe my nose picked up the notes differently back then, sometimes one and the same fragrance makes you feel it one day and the other day quite differently. When I was amazed at the resemblance to Sunflowers, I compared the scents. I especially noticed sunflowers. Do sunflowers smell like anything? I don't know myself. I can't make out individual scents with Rain. It simply smells pleasantly fresh, flowery and aquatic. The 100 ml do not come by chance, as does the name Splash. Here you can spray and fog really generously. I have not yet been able to determine any overdose.

The shelf life is quite short, after about 2 hours you can replenish it, at least with the big heat at the moment. There's nothing stopping me anyway, except for Air di Gioia. Besides, it's very pleasant to have a fresh scent in your nose when it's hot, so I like to spray on it. Doesn't hurt with the price. For me Rain is a nice scent for hot days, because I don't like citric colognes. But I think I'll wear it on cooler days too.

The German tradition house 4711 brings again and again beautiful new smells on the market, smells, which can be really seen and/or be smelled, far away from Muff and traditional. I find the classic infinitely pleasant in the heat - and by the way: The much more expensive "Les Colognes - Néroli" by Annick Goutal doesn't smell much different. With us 4711 real cologne water unfortunately has a grandma and old people's home image and therefore ekes out a somewhat unjustified existence in the corner.

A few years ago Nouveau Cologne came onto the market, which I liked. Apparently this one still exists, but I haven't seen a bottle in a store for a long time. Then I discovered the Acqua Colonia series, from which the beautiful Lime & Nutmeg was allowed to enter my collection three years ago. Wonder*Water for you I got last year at Easter from a dear perfuma as a gift and still like to wear it. I especially like this intense Pomelo note in it and it reminds me of beautiful winter days when we ate Pomelo with our then little son after skiing. *gg* Last year then the new edition of the turquoise-golden classic. I only discovered it towards the end of summer, when it was still warm, but not for long. So my bottle will last me at least this summer, probably longer.

Now to the fragrance: If you want to get something out of the new edition, you also have to get something out of the classic. ;) Because the two are very similar, especially in the beginning. Here the new smells like the old - like a concentrated load of bergamot. And I smell clearly orange blossoms, sunny and after sun milk, even if it is not indicated here. In the old 4711, however, orange blossom oil or neroli is in it. I think Neroli also belongs to the traditional raw materials. ;)))) The fragrance is well described by 4711, only the one with the persistent duration is nonsense. It is and remains a cologne with a correspondingly short shelf life of 2-3 hours. Ideal on hot days, but the spraying itself is the most refreshing, the fresh notes only prolong this feeling of freshness. The orange blossom or neroli make the fragrance soft, floral and sun creamy, lavender also provides freshness and creaminess. I think lavender in fragrances can make a fragrance nice and soft, not always, but very often. Petigrain adds a delicate floral note, I don't smell orange and lemon directly, but a really tiny hint of rosemary.

What I don't quite understand is the limitation thing. Allegedly, only 24,000 pieces were produced - and that was last year. They should be gone by now. Or did he sell so badly? Müller hadn't had it since the end of last summer, when it was finally sold out for 10€, no longer available online at all. And suddenly there's a whole shelf full of it again, and it's also available in the online shop. And 4711 still lists him on the HP. Well, it would be nice if it would be included in the normal 4711 range - I think the fragrance deserved that.

The last weeks were already very summery with us and so my very fresh scents came early to the train. In summer I prefer colognes or similar like the Green Teas of Arden - the original as well as the Flanker. Last year I already added "Remix Cologne Anniversary Edition" to my collection, unfortunately it was limited. Nevertheless, I discovered a whole fresh filled shelf of it at Müller, right next to this year's LM. Here you get what the bottle and advertising promise: A lot of orange. Very natural, unsweet and fresh. The fragrance becomes warmer and softer/creamer in the course of time and is therefore well wearable even on cloudy days. I can hardly smell tea at first. For me, it smells like lemons, oranges, in the course of time very slightly floral with a soft cedar wood base.

The shelf life is equivalent to a cologne between two and three hours. I can't understand why anyone would regret that. The purpose of a cologne is simply to refresh yourself on hot days, which you get mainly by spraying, even if the fresh, light notes prolong the feeling of freshness a little. And here you can re-spray without having to look into your wallet first. With 100ml you should also get through the summer, especially if you have other scents as well. 4711 always surprises me. The fragrances are valuable and cheap, but by no means cheap. My Capreser oranges from Parma, which are many times more expensive, can wrap up against this orange scent. While this fragrance is so citric that it starts to annoy me when I'm warm, Remix Cologne Edition 2018 is just soothing and relaxing. And so much longer will my ital. Luxury cologne now also again not to justify the price. ;) Also, it does not smell much higher quality, and is due to the intense citrus note with the caramel for me rather a pick-me-up on cloudy late winter days. At that time I had bought it for me and in this time it fits for me also well
