Fuzzy, scratchy, classic, huge. Violet leaf in front of narcissus atop moss. Enough like petrichor to please the hindbrain. Not men’s alone!

Now this is aristocracy: an intense heliotrope (under a thin violet veneer) as soft and opaque and ruthless as hydrated lime.

Scent

Wonderful. Hyacinth/galbanum, bitterer chamomile, moss, & a traditional rose/violet. Created for a museum and owns its anachronistic glory.

Soft sweet velvety verbena; dry on top, saturated below, w/ a bitter, syrupy background. Fits the shade of green they used. Not longlasting.

Not quite smoke or vapor, but ginger intense in the air over an open flame. Sweet but not otherwise floral. Dryish. Nocturnal/crepuscular.

Iris: serene cushiony iris draped over hot-drink amber. Not quite complex enough to be retro. Would suit the calmest person you know.

Peachy osmanthus, made for the mainlaind Chinese market so VERY light. “Perfumey” rather than realistic or avant garde. Easy to like.

Very good cheapie. Not santal per se, but an aromatic wood + a dark, humid, jungley green, almost no sweetness. No gender to it.

They say “vanilla orchid”, I say “milk chocolate-covered pencil” - especially once the pineapple fades. This is not a complaint; it’s a rec!

Smells exactly like it should: a stocking-stuffer chocolate orange, on which not a lot of $ was spent. A novelty, but we love those oranges.
