japanese Hinoki Forest
A masterpiece.
The scent smells like a luxurious spa. Clean, earthy, meditative, green, fresh, tart, spicy & woody. If you know the other Aesop products, you will quickly recognize the Aesop DNA here. Hwyl gives me the idea of being in a Japanese spa, high in the mountains. It's 5am, you can see the delicate mist drifting over the Hiba trees. There's a scent of cypress in the air.

At the first spray, I clearly perceive the cypress, which then evolves into woods, vetiver and incense. The scent remains linear and is perceptible up to 6std.

Hwyl is very personal and pure.
You have to have tried it yourself.

Fireplace & Caramelized Marshmallows
In your mind comes a wooden hut in the mountains, it's cold and inside the fireplace warms. You hear the crackling of the fire and the rain pattering on the roof. The scent provides a coziness that you long for.
I find the scent to be very smoky after the first spray, but not unpleasant. The chestnut is sweet and vanilla is very soft. The scent carries with it a sweetness that I would describe as caramelized marshmallows. After that, the scent doesn't develop much, but remains quite linear.
(P.S. the fragrance can be fantastically with Serge Lutens un bois vanille layern.)

In my opinion, the best fragrance from the MM Replica series!

this french je ne sais quoi
This fragrance surprised me immediately when I sprayed for the first time. The fragrance opens with fresh bergamot, which also quickly fades and it makes way for the rose. I find the rose here to be cool and distant. The sillage is not breathtaking, but that doesn't bother me at all. Because the scent isn't trying to impress everyone in the room, it knows what it can do and doesn't need to be the loudest in the room. He has nothing to prove.
Figuratively, I imagine a woman who just came from riding and owns a horse farm and is effortless in everything she does. She's elegant, knows what she's got, and isn't trying to impress anyone.

These three words still come to mind:
classic, elegant, 'old money'
