What Tuscan Leather should have been
The first niche fragrance I ever bought was Black Saffron.
Then, I traded it for Tuscan Leather.
Then, I sold the Tuscan Leather and bought another bottle of Black Saffron.
This is, perhaps, one of the most beautiful fragrances ever made. Soft, sweet, smooth. It isn't in-your-face loud or standoffish, and works for nearly all social occasions.
Black Saffron is a leather scent, but to define it as that alone would be doing it a disservice. The berries in this are very juicy and authentic, and they alongside the saffron compliment the leather perfectly. The floral, fruity aspect of this perfume is what makes it stand out so much. Nothing is out of place, everything is as it should be.
Is it similar to Tuscan Leather?
Undeniably.
But is it better?
In my opinion, yes it is. Everything I didn't like about Tuscan Leather is not present here. This is just a beautiful, fruity, floral leather perfume. I've learned from my mistake, and will never part with this again.

Very, very strange.
To me, this does not live up to its name. Kind-of. There is wood, definitely. Agarwood. But it's a strange oud. It's not that authentic horse-manure oud like you find in Xerjoff Al-Khat or Thomas Kosmala Bukhoor, but it isn't that medicinal oud you find in lots of designers either. It's a very sweet oud, and if there is patchouli here, it's a very sweet patchouli too.
While the oud is not medicinal, this does smell a lot like medicine. When I was younger, when I got sick instead of taking antibiotic pills, I drank this strange pink antibiotic liquid. This smells just like how that antibiotic medicine tasted. It's very strange.
This projects a lot, too. People around you will notice you, even if you go anosmic to it. Half a spray should do for most, and this is coming from a chronic over-sprayer. Thankfully, the sprayer mine came with is amazing and you can really control how much you spray.
So overall, do I like this?
I can't really tell if I do or not. It's sweet, and strong, and medicinal, and strange, and conjures memories of drinking the most disgusting thing ever made as a child. It's worth trying even if you know this isn't your cup of tea just to experience how strange this is.
