CTD

I was a huge fan of AdG original back in 1997. It was a real head-turner and lasted ages. Unfortunately over the years it has lost its punch, but this profumo is certainly coming close to the original version I think. Fresh, sharp but smooth too. Summery and classy. A crowd-pleaser and very versatile. It would work just was well post-gym as it would at a summer BBQ and an evening gala dinner. REfined yet attention-grabbing. Lots of contradictions in one bottle it seems!

I am a huge vetiver fan, and enjoy Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, Roja Vetiver, Creed Vetiver and many others. This is a lovely fresh, bright, summery scent. The vetiver is not dark or earthy, but much more a long the lines of Tom Ford's GV but with added citrus. Unfortunately, this means that it doesn't enjoy the longevity of some of the other vetiver fragrances out there. You will get a few hours out of it, but would probably need to refresh at that point. STill, it's one I reach for regularly, especially in the summer. It is classy, fresh, alluring and elegant.

This one looks and smells elegant and classy. Always catches the nose of people nearby and gets compliments - if that's what you are looking for. I am not a fan of floral scents and was disappointed with other masculine florals like Richard James, SAville Row - although at certain times of the year it does work well I find - but this works really well. I would draw some comparisons to Tauer's L'air des alpes suisses, but perhaps others don't necessarily see that. Both are quite unique and fresh but with a depth that lasts.

This is a smooth, warm, inviting, elegant masculine fragrance, despite the Iris note. In terms of when to wear it, it is ideal for colder weather and for more formal events, be they for business or pleasure. Gets lots of compliments and lasts well. If it were a piece of clothing, it would be a fine Italian suit, well tailored and not brash, but a head-turner and memorable nonetheless. The original version lasts longer than more recent iterations, but still a beautiful scent.

Absolutely beautiful scent. A finely balanced, elegant fragrance that captures the subtly of top quality ingredients. IDEal for autumn and winter evenings, but still works in the spring and summer months. Sensual but bright, smoky but fresh. Totally recommend it and with great longevity so that you don't need too many sprays, which is good given the price tag.
