Beautiful, intoxicating, enticing fragrance. Such an original creation. Definitely not for everyone and certainly more suited to cooler nights and winter months. An abundance of spices which combine to make a truly unique fragrance. For me, this is far more wearable than tauer’s au coeur du desert and lonesome memories.

Over the years I’ve bottle (and then given away!) a number of bottles of this. I’ve listened to and read so many reviews extolling its attributes and I would certainly agree that the original version was truly unique and intoxicating. However, most recent versions are less enjoyable and leave me feeling disappointed.

Without doubt since it launched about 12 years ago, aventus has spawned multiple copies by other houses, or at least inspired many fragrances. I’m thinking of musc imperial, explorer, vibrant leather, hacivat - which is actually nicer than aventus in my opinion. Also, I think the cologne version is less pungent and more wearable.

Beautiful fragrance that garners lots of comments. Fresh, sharp, but settles down to a very inviting scent. Unfortunately the price is beyond most people’s budget, in which case Dua supernova is a very solid substitute. Ideal for summer months, but also doubles as a very classy fragrance all year round.
