Top Shelf (Extrait de Parfum) has always been in line with "No Prefume" by The Zoo and "Maderas de Oriente Oscuro" by PK Perfumes. And it also has a close relationship with "Tyrannosaurus Rex" by Zoologist. What drove Eliese, which otherwise offers more mellow notes in its small but exquisite program, in developing this fragrance, I'd like to know in more detail. Given the rest of the portfolio, it resembles a primal scream by her.

That organic, unsettling smoke. As if the aforementioned T-Rex had relieved itself next to a sulfur fountain, scorching its skin in the process. Animalistic, dark green, dank decay. Indescribable and unique. You can no longer take your hand off your nose, so fascinating is this unusual combination.

The Pure Perfume begins more sweetly than the Extrait. It carries a slight fruitiness that makes it even more mysterious. PowerE! Because already after a few minutes we are exactly on the line of the predecessor, because I already got over almost a year ago from my dear collector colleague Maggy4u. He knows me just and landed with it with me a direct hit.

Also, it was he who already informed me about the announcement of Pure Perfume, because he is in contact with Elise. So I couldn't help but say yes. And so I was one of the first through him could get this Preziose. Thank you at this point for your always welcome support!

The Pure Perfume is for the wearer himself. It stays with you and dresses you close. More intimate. And it is therefore very beneficial that it is fuller-bodied and deeper than the Extrait, which may also be due to its more pleasurable consumption.

The bottle is an eye-catcher, very unusual and extremely fragile. It is nothing for travel or in between. Dahingehend the concept is consistent. It is for the quiet and intimate moments at home

In view of the ratings given so far, I guess that either a few uninitiated or a few pseudo-Ramstein fans were surprised a bit. ☺ For me it was the other way around. Because in fact it was a blind review and I thought, "Wow!!! What kind of perverted gothic / independent clown from the USA has launched this smash. Animalic (but so right), smoky and spicy. Dirty, just short of barnyard. What a great scent." And then came the resolution from the noble dispenser (thanks Groover60) and I could hardly believe my eyes and nose. Too bad it's only an EdT. ?
I was pleased, however, about the product description on the homepage of Ramstein:
"This is an extreme product and not intended for everyday use - not for the faint-hearted!"
"Extreme product?" "Not for everyday use"? So who writes that? ?
An unpleasant surprise for many, but a pleasant surprise for me.

At the first smell I meant "Oud Luwak", at least his twin brother would have risen again. But "Agar de Noir" is much more than a supplement. "Oud Luwak" has become an unmistakable oud icon, not least because of carrot juice on the one hand and nard on the other. It is loud, striking and impetuous. Behaviourally disturbed, but not annoying. And it also contains coffee, but...

"Agar de Noir" has the power of heat. The soothing which Oud Luwak lacks. The runaways are caught here by a very large portion of coffee. There's no question that the two ouds used here are as non-conformist as in "Oud Luwak", but they don't distract from the basic calm that this fragrance exudes. It's an oud scent that contains the blackest coffee I know. And even if you don't perceive it directly, the base notes of balsam, labdanum and tonka bean potentiate the calm spread by the two main protagonists, creating a black-brown, cuddly blanket.

It took a few hours before I recognized the sublime effect of this fragrance. Without even directing his eyes, or rather his "nose notice", to the fragrance, it engulfs you and envelops you in well-being.

There are some oud oils and also attars that evoke this relaxation in me. But with sprayable scents this is very rarely the case. In "Agar de Noir" darkness, warmth and power meet, but without wanting attention. And that is quite an art, with such a potent fragrance, which easily lasts a whole day.

PS: Although I don't attach much importance to the outward appearance, in this case the bottle, I have to express my enthusiasm for this work of art. That's how all high-quality extras should be packaged! The flacon not only looks very pretty, but it works perfectly and fits very well in the hand, which is not least due to the very thick glass and the solid metal cap.

Desperado. How appropriate!

This is the smell of wandering around the prairie for weeks on end, when the smells of horse, leather, campfire, desert, wood and resin have been trapped in your clothes and the patina from these smells eats into your skin over time.

If, like me, you are close to nature in its rather vegetationless, minimalist and low-precipitation form, you will find corresponding images in front of your eyes when you enjoy this fragrance. The beauty of a "stripped" "ungarnished" landscape, which reduces the senses to the essentials and thus allows the attention to stretch like an umbrella. The extensive absence of acoustic stimuli allows the scents to merge with the visible. I am in the southwest of the USA, the steppes of Siberia or the Gobi Desert in Inner Mongolia and the longing for these places is spreading within me.

The heavy, dark ouds are the basis of this loud and uncomfortable fragrance. The addition of cedar, bergamot, lemon and ginger is refined, but they do not have the power to change this unshakable base. You complement them by generating a pungent smoke, as we know it from sooty fireplaces.

The base of amber, sandalwood and tolu balsam is fortunately pleasantly weak. It only cuts off the tips of what would otherwise be burned or burnt too loudly. Furthermore, they preserve the warmth emanating from the potent ouds by beating them into a dry coat.

Finally, a shovel of wet dirt or peat is thrown into the fire through the guaiac wood. The resulting animal notes suggest the presence of civet and hyraceum.

Hans Georg Staudt once wrote a story about a fragrance in which he tells the story of a character who travels for months through the Orient and the steppes of Asia to collect raw materials for his fragrance creations. This figure appears before my eyes when I enjoy this dry, harsh and flowerless extract. For days on the back of his faithful companion through the dry steppes, at night in front of the campfire and only rarely the opportunity for extensive washing. I feel transported back to my travels to the areas described above.

... with me, as far as scents are concerned, unfortunately not very often, but rather seldom.

I already had the sample under my nose half a year ago. I liked Bortnikoff (in the beginning) very much. But somehow it seems that they quickly bought a planer and a stack of sheets of sandpaper to smooth out what for me was the most important part of the original, which was very much appreciated at the beginning.

But when I got a sample of Sayat Nova under my nose I was really surprised. I didn't think that Dimitry would mix and also bottle it again so recklessly. I was less surprised by the below average rating here at Parfumo.de for a Bortnikoff. Sayat Nova and I must have fallen a little out of time. Already after two years. After "Mysterious Oud (Extrait de Parfum)" it was and is the only one I'd like to have.

Sayat Nova is an extremely oud-laden fragrance. In principle it could exist as pure oud oil. With two exceptions. The balancing act between medium woodiness and at the same time extreme, somewhat light smokiness is not known to me from any single oud, which is why the three listed oud varieties are very easy to understand. In addition there is a pungent, actually ethereal note, which goes up to the brain. Probably caused by the apricot, just in connection with the oud. I like these wood smoke scents, as they are offered in numerous variations, e.g. by Kerosene. But Sayat Nova kicks the whole range into the barrel. Here the natural ingredients outperform the aforementioned many times over. Added to this is the uncompromising power of the almost black liquid. Wearing it expands my consciousness, because aspiration, quality, performance and a unique position go hand in hand. The fragrance unites so many good qualities of oud that I would like to classify it as one of the best oud fragrances. Everybody who makes oud, but is afraid of touching oud oils, should perhaps make his peace here and let the power of oud work on him.

You know what that is? There are fragrances that you want to have right away, so that they disappear from your wish list and finally shorten it. And there are the ones where you don't really believe in a quick fix. But can you treat a scent like all those who didn't arouse any desire at all? Well buy. I have a special section for such fragrances. And when you receive a package, open it and discover a fragrance from this "I'd like to, but I'll never get it" list, it's much nicer than ordering your #1 of the Most Wanted list in an unsexy way online, and then receiving it from the parcel carrier as planned and checking it off
