Too Far!
I wanted to see her smile. She was so far away. Too far! She cried a lot the last few days. Me too, but rarely in front of her. We were both very scared. We knew about the "thing" in her right breast that shouldn't have been there. The day of her birthday was the examination. In the evening, when everything was over, she got her present from me. I gave it to her with the words it should be her lucky star. I gave her a star with the name Telea. A star for a star... my only and brightest star! I turned off the lights in the room, because I knew that when you opened the golden box, a light would start to burn. When she opened the golden box and her face lit up in the dark, she started to cry. But not because she was afraid of losing me, herself or us and therefore losing life and love. No, she wept with happiness and beauty. And so she said to me softly: "I didn't know that something so beautiful existed at all! And I saw a smile on her face after a long time. We both wet our skin with Telea that evening and began to dream. And instantly Telea carried us away. Far, far away! Telea took us on her turquoise and golden flights to an exotic place that was like paradise. On our honeymoon which was a long time ago. To the Raa Atoll
To the Maldives!

Telea
Telea smells like unreal-beautiful atoll in the Indian Ocean. A lonely, green island in the turquoise-blue water. It smells of freshness, purity and lightness. The air is clean and light and the warm wind carries the scent of citrus fruits and exotic flowers. Tangy notes of oranges, juicy pears and citrusy bergamot bring an incredible freshness. Accords of exotic flowers gradually mingle and Telea becomes slightly sweeter and more floral. Like a warm wind that lays floral and delicate green over the skin, it smells of bright jasmine and nectar-like, almondy heliotrope. As if it came from the floral depths of the island. Lightly underpinned by tangy and slightly rough vetiver. Telea is as light as white shell limestone sand in which the bleached, almost white driftwood iridesces in the sun. Woody notes of the brightest and almost crystalline patchouli and oud refine it in an enchanting way as if the notes were almost tinkling and singing in their bright purity. Nothing is cluttered or heavy in this perfume. Telea gets woodier and woodier in its performance towards the end and says goodbye with the feeling of tanned skin from warm creamy mahogany woods and a sunset of fine, resinous golden amber. This is what a slice of paradise might smell like. Or rather. So it smells for me!

Conclusion
Telea is difficult to fathom and explore. The perfume is highly complex and very fine and delicate interwoven in its composition. It spreads its hypnotic-exotic fragrance over many hours. Telea is as light as the sun's rays caressing the skin. But also as rich as an exotic floral garden after a monsoon rain. It is a constant interplay between fruity, floral and warm woody notes and accords. Telea is dazzling like white sand in the sun, green-floral, fruity like exotic vegetation and woody-crystalline like clear fresh air from the ocean. The oud weaved here is so fine and pure in its quality that it almost seems like a woody-glassy veil of crystals. One of the purest and clearest patchoulis does the rest to underline the transparent purity. Whether it is worth its price. In my opinion it is! And he definitely belongs to the dreamiest summer fragrances 2021 for me.
Either way!

Perfumes can heal. They go deeper than some physical sting, cut or pain. They go deep into the soul. There where you never get yourself. They heal wounds that are partially invisible to others. Perfumes accompany us on beautiful and also difficult ways. They take us to distant, very, very distant places. Telea accompanied my wife and me during the days of waiting for results. Telea was with us every day and brought her and me back the smile. Telea played around us, comforted us and held us in dark hours. I gave a star a star,...a lucky star named Telea. And this lucky star had brought her and me happiness in the end.

And yes,...it healed too. The body and the soul!

The cry of the gulls
It was dusk and the air was cool and damp as she made her way, heavy with thought, to the coast. Yellowed were her thoughts. As yellowed and hazy as the light of the dawn which broke in the dark clouds. Gently the cool hazy mist from the sea curled like ghostly spun aldehydes around her bare feet as she crossed the dunes. The mist came and with it the thoughts that never rested. The sea was as still as her deepest self as she walked along the beach and the salt water washed away her tracks behind her in the damp sand, as did as many memories. She found a small piece of ambergris. Washed up from the deepest depths of the seas. Gently she picked it up and sat down in one of the herbaceous dunes. There was a scent of wild herbs around her from tarragon, marjoram, pungent sage and spicy bitter oregano. All mixed gently with the seaweedy scent of the little bit of ambergris what she rubbed in her hands and the dried seaweed at her feet.

She looked out over the sea above which the filigree mist hovered like ghostly memories of bitter-harsh galbanum. Thoughts came and bloomed like a sombre bouquet of flowers of tart carnations and honeyed acacias, before withering and dying. Melancholy the wind whispered in her ears and played minty softly around her graying hair. She rose from the cool sand of the dunes and walked through the filigree mist until the gentle waves of the ocean caressed her feet. She looked up at the sky, which was the color of faded lavender. Almost black-purple and gray-blue were the clouds. She took a deep breath of the spicy and amber air that came from the ocean, as if it was one last time. And while she still looked across the cool sea to the horizon, she could hear it. The cry of the gulls. And she remembered painfully how she once cried,....as the sea once took him from her so young!

Brumes
Brumes by Paul Vacher is probably one of the most remarkable perfumes created for Le Galion in 1938. If not the most innovative perfume by Le Galion in its era. Brumes interprets a walk along the southern French coast in a soft, hazy mist. Brumes is probably the first perfume to try to capture the atmosphere of the sea with seaweed, kelp and real ambergris. Herbaceous and spicy notes from various herbs and spices permeate it. Interspersed with floral nuances of green-herbaceous carnations, lilacs and delicately unsweet honeyed magnolias and heliotrope. Watered down accords of overripe and wilting lavender wash around it with tart aquatic notes of real, smoky fossil ambergris like a delicate mist over the sea. Brumes is melancholy-dreamy and profound-serious like a L'Heure Bleue. And at the same time spicy and delicately wild like a Jicky. All infused with the sound of the sea. Without a doubt, Brumes has set a milestone in the long journey of aquatic-spicy fragrances. Le Galion had only recently revived Brumes in a revised version. Only this one is in no way even halfway close to the original. That depth and melancholy is impossible to recreate! Normally I have an aversion to spicy aquatics. But not here. Indeed, in Brumes you could really hear the ocean roaring and the seagulls crying!

I love the fog because it makes the world so small that I can understand it.

Criminal
What is Habanita? Habanita to me is an olfactory dance. A power struggle of the sexes. A trial of strength between man and woman. Passion, dominance, an attraction and a repulsion. A desire and a contempt. Hunting and killing so close together. Temperament and innocence danced on a sharp blade of seduction and drama. Or a crime of passion perhaps? Habanita is a dance. Habanita is a tango! But unlike usual, here it is not the gentleman who leads. No, here the lady leads. It is the tango with a femme fatale. Erotic, seductive and highly manipulative. Habanita is an embrace. An embrace to the sweet dark sounds of a passionate, rhythmic, accordion of desire and alluring feminine criminality!

Habanita
Habanita is not just a fragrance or perfume. Habanita is rather an aura in which you get caught and sink. A green,bitter-tart rose geranium opens the drama. Bitter and almost brittle and repellent. Threads are spun like a sticky web of tough, resinous mastic. Just as bitter-sweet and yet so warm. Fine, filigree and so perfect that every soul gets caught in it with every twist and turn. With every step, with every turn you are more dazzled by Habanita. Dust fogs your senses and the air becomes muggy-dry and stuffy. Powdery and dry florals of almondy heliotrope draw the light ever softer. Ylang-ylang and animalic-meaty jasmine switch poses and it rains fruity-bitter mimosa on the sensual parquet of doom from earthy-dark and woody-old patchouli. The band plays the final deep-spicy act of abandonment or surrender. The air grows sweeter and more beguiling. To the passionate rhythm of the tango, the chords of dry and dusty-spicy vanilla ring in the ears like tantalizingly intoxicating notes, and the body becomes a soft-creamy sounding body of smooth-milky sandalwood. A final embrace and kiss populates this tango of tart smoky and dark oak moss. The curtain falls and with it any inhibitions and concerns!

Conclusion
Habanita is a paradox and a mystery. It combines the opposites of feelings, desires and emotions. Habanita is soft, tender, innocent and playful like a lolita. On the one hand! On the other hand Habanita is decadent, proud, passionate, dominant and highly self-confident like a femme fatale. A perfume that manages to combine the innocence of a Lolita and the dominating power of a femme fatale. Habanita is soft-powdery, delicately floral. But also spicy-sweet and earthy-smoky. Habanita spreads a suspicious aura of dubious innocence and dark seduction. It is elusive and difficult to grasp. A perfume that can be many things. Multifaceted like a dark iridescent prism of inscrutable femininity. If I should describe Habanita with two words???
Seductive-criminal,...would probably be very appropriate!

Follow me!
Oh yes, I am a very visual man. I am very observant and register a lot around me. My good powers of observation are only slightly surpassed by my sense of smell. It has always been that way! No matter where I am I take or take up the scent like an animal. Always following my nose! In the events of parties, events, events, and even in daily life you can smell a lot of things if you have the sensitivity to do so. Eroticism for example! A good example for a highly erotic scent we have here. In the middle of the 80's Calvin Klein brought his perfume Obsession on the market which has to stand as a prime example for erotic decadence. A perfume what unmistakably said what it wants. Follow me!

Obsession (Vintage)
One can probably rightly claim that Obsession spreads an almost hypnotic aura. A narcotic mix of very many animating notes was and is its secret. A light effervescence of tangerine and slightly sweetened peach opens the trail. Gently softened by bitter herbaceous coriander. Various spices rush in. Not easy to discern in detail. In the foremost front it is spicy-dry cinnamon that is discernible. Nutmeg and clove can also be detected in gentle chords. Floral notes spread out, from lush, waxy orange blossom and oily rose. All transitions are kept very soft-flowing and seem almost floating. There are few perfumes that are intoxicating in all three phases of development. Obsession is without question one of them. However, here too, the base is the real enticement. A heavy, very physical, sultry musk combined with smoky accords of incense, tart smoky oakmoss, powdery spicy vanilla and sweet, warm resinous amber beguile the senses. The sensual hunt is ultimately ignited even more by a not to be despised dose of lascivious-animalic civet. Almost impossible not to follow this perfume!

Conclusion
Whoever wears Obsession, should be aware of being noticed. No perfume with which one disappears in the masses. But Calvin Klein also wanted! Obsession is a true gem of erotic, self-confident decadence and sensuality. This isn't about contenance, romance or playfulness. This fragrance lays a trail of warm spicy physicality and lascivious eroticism for anyone who knows how to read it. I have always been able to read these traces and this one has always been the dearest of them all! A perfume which still knows how to seduce. Extremely sexy! Even in the reformulated version which is so much more "harmless". Obsession is a warm and spicy oriental fragrance that can also be worn by men. And who then follows whom, should it be so, is then here the question?

In the silence of thought
What I this Christmas at perfume probably put on and in which fragrance direction it will probably go? This question has probably so some here also already asked themselves. It will be an incense perfume with me! Why? Because incense is able to fulfill a lot of things after I long very much, in this very difficult time for all of us. Frankincense carries wishes to heaven and gives hope. Frankincense offers protection and keeps evil away. It cleanses the thoughts and the rooms. Frankincense is spiritual and takes us a little way to the threshold of God. And it is the white, smoky breath that is able to close wounds. Mentally as well as physically! Incense is a protective shield and keeps negativity away. It purifies the spirit, the soul and the body. Which incense perfume will I use on Christmas Eve? I will tell you. It is for me personally one of the most beautiful incense perfumes I know!

Avignon
Avignon tends not to be a cold incense scent like many others. Here the fair is not yet finished, but in full swing. He begins indeed with a slightly cool labdanum note which, however, rather like a slightly metallic-cool breeze. Relatively quickly, gentle warmth creeps in. Not much. More like a slight glow, a delicate sparkle of resinous, warm-smoky elemi comes in. A pleasant, soft resinousness spreads and is gradually accompanied by woody-creamy tones of still young rosewood. Chamomile adds delicate, herbaceous-soft chords. A cool earthy patchouli grounds the perfume in a very pleasant way before it joins spicy and softly smoky vanilla and becomes a great whole of sacred, holy, warming, protective and authentic incense. There may not be many notes, but they are "divinely" composed.

Conclusion
There are many smells and scents that symbolize Christmas for me. For example, cinnamon, anise, cloves, speculoos, almond and gingerbread. These are the childhood and physical joys and memories I associate with Christmas. But that is only a small part of it. Albeit a very beautiful one! The real Christmas and its deep meaning smells to me like church incense. After the holy, white smoke. It smells of silence, humility, charity and comfort. It is the smoke that carries thoughts, wishes and hope to heaven. Avignon is for me the olfactory holy night. Silence of thought, spiritual peace and security. Authentic and real to the last note. It must have been around this time just before Christmas many years ago, I met a friend in the evening as I was passing by. It was snowing and late. I was wearing Avignon. It was my first bottle at the time. We exchanged a few words and parted again. When we said goodbye he turned to me and said: Can,....You smell like Christmas! He felt Avignon the same way I did. Christmas Eve was in the air!

My dear friends,readers,perfumos!
This is my last comment for this year. I hereby thank you for many wonderful hours with you. For much joy and also some suffering what you have shared with me. For many enriching conversations, a lot of laughter and an incredible amount of warmth, empathy and humanity. It was a great pleasure for me to spend this year with you. In good times as well as in bad times. I wish you a blessed Christmas for you, your loved ones and families. And a hopeful new year. Stay healthy and never forget,.... each other well!

Sincerely and good smelling holidays.
