Unexpected often comes..
...this was also confirmed today, when I made an unsuspecting spontaneous ramble through the Dougi of my trust. There was the newest creation from Lancome on the shelf, like Phoenix from the ashes, framed by LVEB and the La Nuit Tresor diamonds.

The imposing, super slim bottle is reminiscent of a smartphone. (Funnily enough, you can even buy a suitable protective cover made of silicone to take the good piece with you on your travels!)

In addition, it was immediately noticeable how "prone to tipping" the bottle is: One jag of the tester cap had already been broken off! ^^
Nevertheless, the filigree bottle made of delicate rose gold makes a good impression and immediately stands out from the crowd.

I then sprayed my wrist twice full of expectation and continued to rummage through the corridors. The idol starts, as expected, florally pure. According to the above information, there is no classical fragrance pyramid... Nevertheless, one has the impression during the course that one is walking along a lush flower bed. Gradually, each of the majestic flowers opens and reveals its unique scent.

I'm certainly not a fan of flowery scents, but this one is different. It's neither pompous, nor does it seem dusty or "outdated". I never really understood what 'Chypre' really means, by the way. Here I interpret it for myself as a kind of patchouli, which prevents the flowers from slipping into the soap.

When all the flowers have finally opened up and shine in full splendour, a fruity pear is added to the coronation and gives the bouquet a completely new, fresh touch.

By the way, if you're afraid that the scent is sticky and sweet, I can calm you down... This is not the case!
H+S are definitely in the upper range. There's nothing to complain about.

I am really enthusiastic and enjoy the unexpected newcomer very much! :)

In a nutshell..
...with this new Flanker the theme 'Intense' was perfectly implemented!

Piarara's commentary basically sums it up perfectly. You get exactly what you can expect: An intensified version of the Ur-Mon Guerlain.

Shortly after spraying, there is first the full booming lavender. Densely followed by thick, dark vanilla - which remains extremely present throughout the entire fragrance process and in my opinion is responsible for the intensity.

A slight woodiness can also be guessed after some time. Meanwhile the lavender is always ready to recall itself again and again.

H+S are really good and absolutely justify the switch to this Flanker for me. Even though the fragrance has a certain sweetness by nature, I don't feel it as "sticky-sweet" and killing! This is probably due to the already mentioned dark vanilla.

(Patchouli I can actually not perceive at all!)

The new appearance of the flacon, with the stronger colouring, is by the way super pretty in nature, looks good and fits perfectly to the theme: colour Intense = fragrance Intense! :)

I have found a treasure..
...and it bears Christian's name.

Rarely have I researched so intensively on the Internet about a fragrance as about Miss Dior (Chérie). For its relatively short existence on the market, this little water has a rather eventful history:

Numerous reformulations, name changes, different designs of the bottle... The latter in particular can drive you crazy! No label, white label, pink label. Label "normal" glued on, label inserted in a kind of glass frame... WAAAAAAHHHHH!!!

So it took me a long time to figure out which layout belongs to which version. Fortunately, in the depths of the Internet, there are some very helpful threads, almost instructions on how to find and correctly identify your personal object of desire.

My object of desire here was clearly the original version. Because of the popcorn note, of course. It's just this one that I already got to know and love with my signature scent "Pure XS for Her".

Miss Dior Chérie starts off sweet and fruity through and through. At the forefront is the strawberry, which doesn't seem as artificial as you might think. (Luckily I don't notice any pineapple!) After a short time it starts to "pop" happily... The aforementioned popcorn enters the scene and gives the fragrance a carnival-like sweetness, which interestingly enough doesn't look childish or even cheap.

In the further course a few flowers are added, which give the fragrance a slightly salty note in a special way. I had already noticed this phenomenon earlier at Lancoms "Poême (Eau de Parfum)".
(If the popcorn hadn't appeared as sugared before, you could get the impression it was salty.)

H+S are, even after all these years, luckily still top in shape! I perceive the scent all day long, without it killing me or my environment. The bottle manages the balancing act between noble and playful, which I particularly like. Here the quality of Dior speaks for itself again.

Since I have a quite large collection and like to change scents, I am not really inclined to hamster purchases. Not even if a fragrance has already been set. Here, however, I break with this habit. I would like to enjoy MDC as long as possible and I have, much to the detriment of the holiday fund, properly bunkered. Unfortunately, today's Miss Dior has nothing to do with her big sister anymore... :-(

Hypnotic poison in wolf fur
Almond. Icing sugar. Vanilla.

That's all it takes to get me around... All good things come in threes... Three is a charm, two is not the same... I could go on forever like this!

When I read the 'list of ingredients' for this fragrance, I knew directly that it was a test candidate. A real CandyScent. (I didn't really register Amber at that time.)

I have a split relationship with the Amber. In small doses (no, not preserved!) I can bear it wonderfully. Too high, however, I feel it in the truest sense of the word only breath (be) robbing - there heavy and herb.

Unfortunately, unfortunately, it is here now so that the Amber puts the other three delicacies almost completely in the shade. After spraying on, I perceive almost nothing except intense, super bitter Amber. Certainly, he is probably covered with a thin layer of sugar... But she can't really compete with the devil stuff!

In the course of the fragrance the vanilla becomes more dominant. Interestingly, the fragrance is then strongly reminiscent of "Hypnotic Poison (Eau de Toilette)", but with a more "masculine" touch. Basically I am a confessing opponent of the division into male and female fragrances... Nevertheless, I dare to argue that this could be the "Hypnotic Poison pour Homme".

This, or at least something similar, is what I would imagine - should Dior one day jump on Mugler's train and want to make his box-office hit accessible to the lady, also to the gentleman.

But in the end, I'm a little disappointed. The hoped for Gourmandfeuerwerk failed unfortunately to appear.

According to the bottle and packaging, this is supposed to be an EdP Intense. I think that's more of a rumor, though. After about 5 hours I have to press my nose against my wrist to perceive the scent.

Thank you, next!

Bon voyage!
You associate a wide variety of things with fragrances. Beloved people, childhood memories, incisive experiences, places or countries you have visited...

Lovely Night was my first trip earlier this year. I just vacationed in the States and visited a shopping outlet in Las Vegas.
In the umpteenth perfumery, the nice (albeit somewhat obtrusive) saleswoman of this perfume praised me. It just arrived and "definitely worth a sniff"!

I said it, I did it! I readily, but almost completely unimpressed, sprayed it on my arm. Let her do it, then she'll give you rest... I had never heard of the Puccini brand before, anyway.

The fragrance starts quite quietly. Fruity peach and a delicate pineapple unfold unobtrusively. The scent looks familiar, but unfortunately also very arbitrary.

So I let off my arm and put "Lovely Night" in my mind already ad acta. (With me on the hotel room Viktor, Rolf and their flower bunny were allowed on this day!)

CUT!
...

We are now at Easter time in the Polish Kolberg, at the beautiful Baltic Sea coast. Lost in thought I rummaged through a local drugstore and stumbled again, you probably already suspect it, about "Lovely Night"!

Funny, I thought... For the second time in no time. I took the tester and sprayed my wrist. On that day I also managed to maintain my concentration at least up to the heart of the fragrance.

After the fruity sweetness has been released, an interesting, almost salty floridity appears. This makes the fragrance appear much louder and more present than at the beginning.

But in the end I gave the Puccini a basket again and drove back home at night with Estee Lauder and a certain modern muse.

...

So completely I could not forget my two times holiday acquaintance however then somehow nevertheless... Had I made a mistake? Should I have given her a chance? She hadn't even revealed her "base" to me yet. I just ignored them.

I let Lovely Night move in with me tonight. Today I belonged completely to her and she thanked me for it, with a wonderfully pleasant fragrance...

The salty flowers drop their blossoms and make room for the great gourmand finale, consisting of vanilla and caramel - paired with a LEICHT woody breeze.

I'm glad we finally found each other after all. After all, we share great memories of two wonderful journeys!

Time will tell how we end up in the end. Holiday acquaintances usually go to waste after all... But who knows, maybe we can convince ourselves of something better! :)
