No Pi in sky, but rather genuine coziness.
On a cozy winter evening, while waiting for the kids to go to bed so that we can prepare the house for Santa Claus, we're enjoying a glass of spicy gluhwein and nibbling on a piece of marzipan. The mellow scent of a hot pie freshly from the oven wafts in through the kitchen door.

Admittedly, you'll need to crawl close together to enjoy the other pie in the room, Givenchy Pi, especially if it's not of the vintage variety. However, it doesn't matter because any excuse to huddle together with my love is good enough in my book. A nose in your neck, a cheek against your arm. Not at the same time, obviously. I'm monogamous by choice, you know. But I digress. Suffice it to say that Pi is romance in a bottle. Provided that you like sweetish, spicy-ish, marzipanish pie. I mean, Pi.

The beautiful design of the vial smartly refers to the trigonometry indicated by its name. Recommended!

A must-have for all. Go get it!
After all these years Platinum Egoiste still makes heads turn. "Mmm, you smell great. What is it? I could eat you!" I'm not sure if I'm quite ripe enough to be eaten, but this Chanel is something else, though.

It's one of those scents that you should have in your possession, no matter what. You'll use it, you'll love it, people will love it. But... How exactly does it smell?
At first spray, you'll be bombarded by a metallic blast mixed with lovely neroli. On your skin, it'll smell like you've just come from a bathtub, liberally soaked in bath salts.

Those aromas quickly make way for the longer lasting center. It is as if you're walking barefoot through a field of flowers, honey bees buzzing around your head while you're picking different herbs freshly from the ground as you walk along. Warm summer air fills your nostrils. A bit further down the path, you can see the tree line and a faint whiff reminds you of the darker forest that lies ahead.

So yeah, go get it. If you don't like it, you can always send your bottle to me. I'll accept it without compensation.

TH EdT doesn't agree with me
I 've read a lot of reviews of TH, so I blind bought it (like I often do) without thinking twice about it.
The opening was lovely citrus, followed by a wonderful pepper smell. I do love pepper in a fragrance, so that's a big plus. Terre d'Hermes has got it all. However...

The dry-down comes rather quickly after an hour or so, and with my bottle (bought 2018) it is rough, very rough. The beautiful opening which was still lingering in my mind was replaced by an overly bright, almost acidic smell which was headache-inducing and turned me off altogether. It's not just on my skin, because I've tried my TH on a paper strip and it got the same smell on the dry-down. I've now tried it multiple times, but I can't get past the bad ending. Maybe it is my batch, or perhaps it's a fragrance that doesn't agree with me. I'd like to warn you that although this works great with almost everybody else (check the reviews here to get the gist of it), it might not be for everyone. I'm sad to say that this is, so far, the worst fragrance in my (limited) collection. Sacrilege. Shame on me, I know. I can't help it.

I'd love to like it and deem it a masterpiece but the unexpected sour ending that lingers for hours ruins my experience completely. Try before you buy, especially recent batches.
