La vie est belle... if you let yourself drift...
With me is freshly moved in La vie est belle - Soleil cristal. One reads yes many negative voices, but I think that comes from disappointed expectations, but not from the actual fragrance. He is just no sparkling midsummer refreshment and also no sunscreen fragrance.

I like him very much. He gives me the following mood again: vacation in Italy. One has spent the day on the beach, rather sluggish, because it was so hot. Sun on the skin, only slightly cooled by wind, in between also bathed in the sea, grateful for the cooling and some movement. Tired, with still heated skin you have gone to the hotel, maybe rested a little on the cool white sheets, through the closed wooden shutters sounds penetrate into the room from again increasing activities towards the evening. You take a shower, let a hair treatment take effect, put on a nice cream, put on make-up, because you have an appointment for a meal in a noble garden restaurant with a view of the sea, a little off the beaten track. And now you're sitting in the garden, wearing a beautiful flowing summer dress and sandals, you're perfumed, you're wearing lipstick, and you're enjoying an aperitif, perhaps a cool Fragolino. It's still very warm, but there's a breeze coming up, and you're looking forward to a nice evening in cultivated company, with delicious food over several courses, chilled wine, with the view of the sunset, the countryside and other guests, who are all well-groomed and beautifully dressed, and behaving discreetly. Nothing is garish or loud, the sedate pace of the day continues and segues into the night.

All this stands out for me in the fragrance, a lot of warmth, but also a light sea breeze, a Mediterranean garden, warm earth and stones, scent of cosmetics and a light fruity wine. I can only really recognise iris and vanilla once the citrus-heavy top note dies down and fades into the white florals. Coconut and patchouli I perceive more as a consistency than as a smell, the coconut gives off a creaminess reminiscent of Raffaello, the patchouli creates a dark, slightly krispe base.

For me, this is definitely a scent of vacation, a carefree time where you gently drift, calm down, enjoy without chasing from one highlight to the next, but just let things happen. I actually like scents that make me longing, but this scent embodies for me the existence in the here and now - and that's exactly what I long for ;)

Good mood fragrance for the cooler season
I personally perceive this fragrance differently than the majority of comments express. The honey is non-existent for me. For me, it's blood orange on a bubbly crisp, but flavorful very delicate caramel crust. Towards the evening, I actually detect a little vanilla as well. Not very sweet, more fruity, but definitely warm. Sillage yes, but not space-consuming.
For me, Scandal is currently an all-round companion. He gives me well-being at work, exuberant good mood in private, I feel with him young, peppy, in a good mood, active, fresh-feminine, without him female scheme or to fall into the role of lascivious seductress. With this fragrance, everything is possible for me with the feeling of joie de vivre, optimism and a pinch of frivolity. I feel a little in danger of overdoing it or being off-putting with what I do, slightly provocative but without really doing any harm. Entertaining, surprising, confusing, irritating, but all playful and without malicious intent. One moment I'm all there demanding attention, the next moment I'm already gone, leaving a slight smile on the faces of those left behind and an incredulous "what was that?" in the air

Short moment of joy
Homely in the first spraying - patchouli without earthy grave effect, soft, smooth, delicious, woody, a bit whisky-like - but without sillage, I have to hang with my nose right above my wrist. That's the way I want to smell when I'm in close contact with someone. But it's more of a quickie: after an hour it fizzles out more and more, then it goes more in the direction of furniture polish with a load of Iso E Super, the fragrance I'm at war with, since I alternately smell nothing, water, ironed but worn men's shirt and motor oil.

A touch of powder on suede
Surely I am not the first to wonder about the name of this fragrance. Leather in the sense of a typical men's scent, a horse saddle for example or a biker's outfit, is definitely not to be found here. And certainly not does the fragrance suggest the presence of a nocturnal beauty in leather corset and with riding crop in her hand. But I do suspect a touch of suede, a delicate pair of ladies' gloves or a jacket. Anyone who knows Madness by Chopard knows what I mean, by the way, both fragrances have red pepper in common. But while Madness had a tangy, cinnamon spice, Cuir de Nuit is much more reserved, very close, subtle, you will have to get close enough to get into the enjoyment of this delicate scent taura, as it likes to happen at night, in the intimacy of a dark room.

But the vanilla is definitely dominant in the fragrance. A very dry vanilla, just like Pure DKNY once presented to us, not at all gourmand sweet, no sticky treat. The outer carton is lying in no way. Even the notes of cocoa and coffee that were announced to us can be found, directly after spraying, the cocoa also rather subtly dusted over it, by no means sweet like a drinking chocolate. And the coffee... here too, just a hint in the air, an old-fashioned coffee note like from a classic café, here no barista conjures up milk-foamy pretentiousness in the cup with a loud hiss, here the coffee was still ground and poured by hand. It is a gourmet fragrance in the sense that edible and drinkable ingredients were processed here, but the result is by no means sweet and certainly not childish. In the course of the fragrance, the perception of cocoa and coffee first increases, only to then enter a more abstract liaison, no longer differentiable.

The sillage is low and therefore the scent is wearable for all occasions, but overall I would be more inclined to the cool and cold season. The closeness to the skin should prevent you from killing other people with it, it is not suitable to attract the attention of strangers, but on a first date it should be a rather subtle and surprising companion, which only becomes noticeable when sympathy has been established and you perhaps dare a first tender hug at the end of a promising evening to say goodbye. Also for autumn walks or cozy evenings on the couch, alone with a book or cuddling in twos, I would like to reach for this bottle from time to time.

For relatively little money you can get a quite surprising and pleasant scent, which may bring variety into the everyday life of scent lovers. As a signature fragrance, however, it would be a touch too airy for me.
