Other than expected ...
When I tested Solaris on a test strip in a small perfumery in Vienna, I was blown away. Summer and sun combined in one bottle. Unfortunately, I had already sprayed a perfume on my skin and simply took the small test strip with me.

When I got home, Solaris was constantly buzzing around in my head and without testing it on my skin, I ordered or bought it. It arrived yesterday. As soon as it landed on my skin I knew one thing immediately, mistake, very, very big mistake The Solaris develops on my skin, because of the very dominant Tiare' note, extremely indolic, plus the jasmine note smells very green and almost fleshy and sultry. Just creepy for me and I would unfortunately have to wash it off. Well, my own stupidity, for me it goes in the direction of Love Tuberose by Amouage as far as the green and fleshy notes are concerned, although no tuberose is listed in Solaris..

Many people love the fragrance and I understand why, but this green, fleshy and indolic note is unfortunately not for me. Luckily there is the Souk. I'm deliberately not rating the fragrance because it's certainly well made, so my personal rating wouldn't be fair to the fragrance.

Forest and grasses....
Green/creamy/herbal and woody. Like a walk in the woods after the rain. A great, close-to-the-skin fragrance, which I unfortunately only notice from the beginning when I hold my nose directly at the spray point or max. 5 cm in front of it. But if you like green and woody scents that are close to the skin, you should definitely try this fragrance. I sit here every day and am about to press the buy button. Because of the non-existent sillage, it hasn't been that far yet...

You can smell grass right away in the opening, along with coriander and a pinch of cardamom. A fragrance that immediately conjures up images in my head. I venture out after the rain in the hope that the rain is over. The lawn is wet. It smells wonderfully strong and summery. I head into the forest. It smells warm and damp like fir, forest and wood. I feel light, I'm wearing an airy summer dress and walking barefoot. It's funny how some scents can be like a poem. This one is a summer poem.

I honestly can't really perceive the floral notes, or let's say not recognize them individually. But they probably ensure that the fragrance not only smells of forest and grass, but also exudes a hint of perfumery and femininity.

You're an old acquaintance..
The fragrance was a blind buy. I never really do that but I fell in love with this brand and so far, I've probably tested 90% of the fragrances from the brand now, there was only one fragrance that I absolutely couldn't stand, all the others were just great.

The brand is not a power brand, there are hardly any screamers but "Damask (Eau de Parfum) | Ormonde Jayne" is probably the absolute exception. I sprayed 2 sprays on a handkerchief a few hours ago and the whole kitchen smells very strongly of "Damask (Eau de Parfum) | Ormonde Jayne" even though the handkerchief is already in the garbage can...

The fragrance is very similar to "Delina (Eau de Parfum) | Parfums de Marly", only more fruity and not as acidic as "Delina (Eau de Parfum) | Parfums de Marly". The Damask rose is also very present here. In the drydown, the berries become more prominent, but the rose remains the absolute protagonist. The other notes are totally submerged in a sea of Damask roses. The white musk annoys me a little throughout the fragrance, I always struggle with this note. White musk is always scratchy and makes every fragrance a bit too garish.

I had "Delina Exclusif | Parfums de Marly" in my collection several times years ago, so I'll have to wait and see if I can cope with a flanker now. Because my Delina time is actually long gone. I always felt a bit dressed up when I wore Delina but maybe it's time for a hyper feminine rose fragrance again. For me it's a summer scent and spring is just around the corner. Careful when spraying, the fragrance could work very nicely.

So if you are a fan of all the Delinas and are looking for something very similar for a cheaper price, not that "Damask (Eau de Parfum) | Ormonde Jayne" is cheap but almost half the price is also worth considering, you should definitely test the "Damask (Eau de Parfum) | Ormonde Jayne". H+S is astronomical on my skin.

If I were a man.....
I will definitely have "Private Label | Jovoy" in my collection.

Slightly dusty, earthy and herbaceous are my first thoughts. As soon as I spray it on, the fragrance becomes a paradise for patchouli lovers and surprisingly also for me, who usually have problems with patchouli. The fragrance is so incredibly elegant and so attractive that it should almost be forbidden for a fragrance to smell so good. In the drydown, the fragrance becomes leathery and a little smoky and becomes very masculine. A fragrance that immediately conjures up images of men in suits with high-quality watches, elegant hairstyles and shiny, elegant suit shoes. A true head cinema fragrance. Anyone who knows and loves the very popular US series "Suits" will certainly, like me, see Harvey Specter in front of them. His fragrance for sure. Ahhh I love this series but that's another topic

I have to keep sniffing my arm, I can't stop smelling it, it smells so good. I won't be able to wear the fragrance because for me it is the epitome of an elegant gentleman but I will give it to my husband and ask him to wear it every day

Old money..
I discovered the Ormonde Jayne brand quite late in my perfume journey. But it has been around since 2000. It is probably the only brand I can say that I simply love. The brand has become "my" brand. The brand offers so many possibilities. For example, you can choose your own bottle, color of the bottle, intensity of the fragrance, engraving, etc., but you have to go to London and visit their beautiful boutique. I can recommend this to anyone spending a few days in London. An experience. Otherwise you can of course buy the perfumes online.

So far I have slowly tested a larger part of the Ormande Jayne perfumes and not a single one I didn't like. I like them all, of course some more than others but none of them I found bad. A super likeable brand where the perfumers go to great lengths to create exceptional fragrances, some inspired by Linda Pilkington's travels. The perfumes are created by Linda Pilkington and Geza Schön.

To the fragrance.

The fragrance is simply classy, so more classy is hardly possible. Its absolute uniqueness makes it very serious without being harsh and cold. The first notes I smell are coriander and bergamot. Very quickly, however, a very present suede note emerges, which reminds me of a light brown, super soft and very expensive suede jacket or bag. So soft and so classy. The fragrance simply smells like "old money" ... leather is actually often a nemesis for me, but with this fragrance I would really have to bow down. The scent remains soft and leathery for a while, until it becomes woodier and slightly floral and the suede withdraws a little without disappearing completely. In the drydown, iris, freesia and jasmine float elegantly over the fragrance like a cloud of powder and Hedion is probably the reason why I feel so drawn to this fragrance. In the base, there are a lot of light woody notes that smell simply heavenly.

The drydown is absolutely to die for. The bottle was a must have and already has a place on my shelf.

H+S very good without being overpowering.
