Old money..
I discovered the Ormonde Jayne brand quite late in my perfume journey. But it has been around since 2000. It is probably the only brand I can say that I simply love. The brand has become "my" brand. The brand offers so many possibilities. For example, you can choose your own bottle, color of the bottle, intensity of the fragrance, engraving, etc., but you have to go to London and visit their beautiful boutique. I can recommend this to anyone spending a few days in London. An experience. Otherwise you can of course buy the perfumes online.

So far I have slowly tested a larger part of the Ormande Jayne perfumes and not a single one I didn't like. I like them all, of course some more than others but none of them I found bad. A super likeable brand where the perfumers go to great lengths to create exceptional fragrances, some inspired by Linda Pilkington's travels. The perfumes are created by Linda Pilkington and Geza Schön.

To the fragrance.

The fragrance is simply classy, so more classy is hardly possible. Its absolute uniqueness makes it very serious without being harsh and cold. The first notes I smell are coriander and bergamot. Very quickly, however, a very present suede note emerges, which reminds me of a light brown, super soft and very expensive suede jacket or bag. So soft and so classy. The fragrance simply smells like "old money" ... leather is actually often a nemesis for me, but with this fragrance I would really have to bow down. The scent remains soft and leathery for a while, until it becomes woodier and slightly floral and the suede withdraws a little without disappearing completely. In the drydown, iris, freesia and jasmine float elegantly over the fragrance like a cloud of powder and Hedion is probably the reason why I feel so drawn to this fragrance. In the base, there are a lot of light woody notes that smell simply heavenly.

The drydown is absolutely to die for. The bottle was a must have and already has a place on my shelf.

H+S very good without being overpowering.

When everything is too much..
Luckily I was able to get hold of a small sample or make a swap deal and didn't buy the fragrance blindly. Initio is definitely not my brand but I had read so many good things about the fragrance and naturally wanted to try it. I was about to buy it blind but you always get smarter. What can I say except that the fragrance is definitely not for me.

The fragrance definitely has Initio DNA. Boozy, slightly scratchy, bold and very masculine to my nose. A fragrance that I would never wear as a woman, although many women obviously like the scent, but my nose definitely says no. I also found the "Side Effect | Initio" quite creepy and although the two fragrances smell very different, they both have this very boozy Initio DNA that I just don't like..

Right at the beginning you get the full load of cognac, with a very masculine tobacco note for my nose. The cherry smells to me like a dark, slightly sweet cherry preserved in alcohol. A good load of black pepper provides a slightly scratchy spiciness that remains sharp and edgy throughout the sale.

The fragrance is simply too masculine for me. But I wouldn't like it on a man either. Too boozy and too sharp for me. Kind of annoying and bold.

Thank you dear Evee for the nice swap deal.

A cloud of powder ...
The fragrance is very similar to "Teint de Neige (Eau de Parfum) | Lorenzo Villoresi" only, even if you can hardly believe it, even more powdery. That's really too much for me for a perfume, because for me the fragrance doesn't smell like perfume at all, it just smells like white face powder from the 60s. I can hardly smell any notes. Super dry and dusty...

My grandma would have a big purple compact in her bedroom. It was huge and so tempting for me. I used to sneak into her bedroom so often to open this magical oversized compact. It was at least 10 cm high. This magical box attracted me like a magnet. You had to pull up the lid and then a white, soft and very cuddly powder puff lay on top of a kind of inner lid with a hole in the middle, which was probably the size of a 1 euro coin. Then you would have to dab the powder puff at the hole to get powder on the puff. It smelled too good but not like much. Just like dusty powder as white as snow. That's exactly how I perceive this fragrance. It just smells like dusty powder. Like purity. For a perfume, hmmm, I don't know. It's not for me.

Femininity in perfection...
The brand is becoming the brand where I find the most hits at the moment.

If you love rose in a very classic and hyper feminine way, you should definitely try this breathtaking fragrance. It is a very floral, spicy fragrance from the drydown onwards, where the rose is the queen. . In the opening you can briefly smell the dates and the spice of pink pepper, but pretty quickly the Taif rose dominates together with a very present freesia, which brings a light but not unpleasant soapiness with it. I don't really smell the rest of the notes. I don't smell any oud, I also smell absolutely nothing animalic. A very spicy note, unknown to me, emerges in the very deep drydown. That must be broom.

The fragrance is very classic, almost vintage and for me it could also be a Chanel. Then you know where the journey is going...Actually not my world at all but somehow this incredible femininity that almost radiates something erotic grabs me.... I believe that women in their 20s and 30s smelled like this. So noble and so feminine.

The fragrance really needs skin to unfold. It smells completely different on a test strip.

For me a women's fragrance, because it definitely smells extremely feminine on my skin. Super elegant and although it has great longevity and good sillage, it is light and not irritating...

Will be on my WL...

So much more than just cherries...
I'm not really a fan of the cherry note in perfumes. Until now, I have downright loathed almost every cherry fragrance. i found "Lost Cherry (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford" creepy, sour and pungent. The same with "Bodacious | Boadicea the Victorious" and so on...

"Wrap Me In Dreams | Haute Fragrance Company" blew me away in a positive sense. The cherry is very clear but at the same time the fragrance is mature and perfumey. So it doesn't just smell like cherry sweets, although the cherry is the absolute protagonist.

In the opening, the fragrance is very cherry-like but in a light way. A light but clear rum note provides a certain sweetness. In the drydown, the cherry recedes a little, the fragrance becomes very powdery and takes on a beautiful tonka/woody direction, with a hint of patchouli. I also smell a very beautiful powdery red rose. A super nice combination that is unique for me...

Longevity is very good and sillage is a dream. Will be on my WL...
