Nice but not worth $290
Neroli Portofino is one of the main problems that I have with Tom Ford's Private Blend Collection. Whilst many of the scents within the collection smell expensive and interesting- Neroli Portofino comes up smelling quite childish almost, it has a distinct freshness to it that will absolutley appeal to many people but it just doesn't justify its ridiculous price tag.

Neroli and Bergamot dominate this fragrance, they offer a very strong- very potent citrus, fruity smell that borders on being annoying. Add to this a very staunch and synthetic smelling mandarin which sort of takes the fragrance into very cheap smelling territory where the fragrance takes on a deodorant like consistency which frustrates me because its evident, already that this fragrance is not worth the price.

I won't go into to much detail about this fragrance because it is very basic. Its a Synthetic Neroli explosion which just does not do the job that an Eau De Parfum should. It lacks in depth, originallity and quality. All things which Tom Ford normally likes to associate himself with. Neroli Portofino is just another example of laziness at a very high price.

To its credit, the lasting power is fantastic, but its composition is just awful, its not the kind of scent i'd want to smell all day long. After 20 minutes I hopped into the shower and scrubbed this off my body.

A Disaster for Wall Street
Whilst I love Bond No.9 and their fragrances and how they try to interpret different places creatively, I think Wall street is the most mis-matched and probably the worst fragrance to have come out of the Bond No.9 fragrance range. It just seems to miss the mark on everything for me, aside from its staying power which is excellent, but what is the point of good staying power when the initial fragrance just doesn't do it for you?

The initial hit of Cucumber was a huge surprise for me. It seems so out of place in this fragrance but then the fragrance becomes aquatic and it takes on a salty sort of smell, which borders on smelling like a Sushi Bento Box. All things which I would never have associated with Wall Street. When I walk through Wall Street I smell a Leathery, Smokey and Musky sort of aroma in the air. Wall Street smells of money, it makes money, it loses money and it smells of it. It smells of wealth and it smells of prosperity. Again, all things which the fragrance does not have.

Perhaps if Wall street was under water this fragrance would be perfect, and perhaps people who love very fresh, very aquatic kinds of fragrances will appreciate this, but I don't. It just doesn't smell right. It smells very incomplete and very rushed. The composition is just poor and the overall scent of the fragrance in reference to its inspiration just doesn't line up for me.

Expensive Orange Juice
I like to think of Little Italy as very expensive orange juice, something which has proven to be an extreme disappointment for me seeing as though I am such a fan of the House of Bond No.9. Little Italy however, should just be pushed to the side and be forgotten about.

I don't say it to sound harsh, I say it purely out of frustration because this scent seems to fail on manyy levels. Its staying power is extremely poor, the scent itself smells very cheap and for me shows little to no representation of the "scents" of Italy. It seems as though Bond No.9 has taken some inspiration from the seaside villages where citrus fruit and oranges are abundant, and if that is the case with this fragrance, its execution is still poor and very uninspired.

Perhaps its just me, perhaps i'm not "getting their intention" or perhaps i have failed to fully comprehend what this fragrance is really all about it. But as far as i am concerned, as someone who owns the perfume and whom has forked out the $230 just to purchase it, its definetly not worth the money and is definetly a reason for why I now sniff everything before i buy it.

A Dignified Homage to New Orleans
New Orleans the fragrance is a fantastic creation and draws upon many parallels that coincide directly with the great city it has been inspired by. This is definetly another HIT for the house of Bond No.9 and is a fragrance which I have bought for the 3rd time now. Its wonderful.

However though with New Orleans, its a situation where You have to love the notes in the fragrance in order to appreciate the intoxicating and strong juice that sits inside the magnificent black bottle. The fragrance in my opinion is simply a very wearable gourmand scent, with no particular gender in sight. With its gorgeous Cinnamon and Vanilla combination complemented by Cassis and a heavy dose of Patchouli, New Orleans sets itself up to be a scent which is perfect for night time. I wouldn't wear this during the day, purely because of the fact that for me this fragrance conjures up images of darkness and it has a strong party vibe to it.

The Tuberose in this fragrance seems to be the unspoken "star" it is very subtle, just like Tuberose should be (I dont like to much of it) and it seems to create a lovely foundation for the fragrance to build itself upon. What this fragrance lacks is staying power. You will get a good 7-8 hours of this, but when you think of New Orleans and how the parties here can go all night right through to the early hours of the morning, i sort of find myself wishing that the fragrance would do the same thing.

Overall though, this is definetly worth a sniff- even if you don't intend on purchasing this fragrance you just have to try it and let its party atmosphere take hold of you.

Sexual, Erotic, Creamy
Oud Wood.
This is without a doubt my favourite fragrance from the Tom ford Private Blend Collection. Now I know many people roll their eyes when they hear any mention of Tom Ford's famously over-priced fragrance collection, however though I have to express my love for Oud wood which stands out on its own as something which I believe is incredibly sexual and conjured up images of Eroticism and Passion.

The initial spray on to my skin is a very creamy oud which is unexpected because I was expecting something harsh and very masculine, i was expecting something very spicey and very "hard" but instead it seems as though the Oud and vanilla have created a marriage which has resulted in the Oud transforming into something very creamy, as if it were literally dripping vanilla. Rosewood, Tonka and Pepper further heighten the fragrance offering something a bit more complex and alot more "adult". Oud Wood isn't the most original scent but it wins points with its incredible and unashamed sexiness and its fantastic lasting power.

This fragrance is a testiment to what I love so much about fragrances, because it communicates with me not only through my nose but through my emotions. I cant help but feel like a naughty school boy all over again when I wear this. It makes me want to be mischevious, it makes me want to be passionate, it makes me want to be physical. Whilst i believe that some of Tom ford's scents are severely over-priced. Oud Wood is worth every single penny.
