It's just a shame....
My relationship with Creed's Aventus could be likened to a visit to the hyped, new burger joint.

The fancy burger place that opens around the corner and is massively hyped. Every second person posts in their Instagram story that they've been there and are also one of the "lucky" ones to have tried the oh-so-good burger.

With me it was like this: I have wished for the fragrance for a very long time and then got it as a gift from my friends for my birthday. I was on cloud 7, finally Aventus. THE original Aventus. But the disillusionment came very quickly: WO. IS. THE. DURABILITY?! Sure, the fragrance DNA itself is absolute madness. Simply magical.

But when 4 friends get together to give me an expensive niche fragrance, you expect 8 hours of shelf life at the minimum. With me, the maximum lasts 1-2 hours.

Back to the burger joint association. It feels like you've finally visited that burger joint yourself and then it's just a small, thin patty with some lettuce between two buns and with what feels like 2-3 drops of sauce. You feel full for exactly 15 minutes and the magic is over - I'm sure this burger would have been better at home.

Yes, I am indeed a bit frustrated.

Last love
Oh, yes, "The One" by Dolce & Gabbana. My very first fragrance with my very first trainee salary. It all started with you. The passion for good scents. The habit of never leaving the house without scent without feeling naked. Learning what a "top note" is. Learning what "sillage" means. The discovery of perfume. Top Ten Fragrance For Men YouTube videos and so on...

I would like to dedicate to you briefly the song of Prince Pi - Last Love:

You are my last love, I thought
The last one I'm lying next to, I thought
I trusted us two hundred percent
But then our Arctic is thawed
You are my last love, I thought
The last one I'm lying next to, I thought
I trusted us two hundred percent
But sometimes eternity stops

Your bottle may be almost empty by now. But I don't feel the need to buy you again. I've evolved. My collection has evolved. New favorites have replaced you.

But the memories with you remain - forever.

The new employee
A new employee starts with us. Sasha, a young and sporty guy. Plays football in the local district league club. Seems a little arrogant, not likeable at first sight and does not represent a candidate for a good future working relationship, let alone a future friendship beyond the office.

"You just have to get to know him better, maybe he'll be different."
"He just seems that way, give him a little time"
"He'll have to settle in with us, too!"

tells me my conscience. No sooner said than done. But we'll start slow. Common coffee break. All right, this guy's all right. Funny, easy and not so arrogant. The first beer at the end of the day - the footballer image is drawing. It pulls like the football player in all American movies pulls. The women in this bar are impressed by him and his sporty appearance. Good for him - demotivating for the Dadbod-carrying Crystom. But a good evening anyway.

That's what happened to me with this scent. In the beginning his nose turned upside down - meanwhile a big fan of this spicy-sweet, noble and long-lasting drop. Conclusion: You have to give some fragrances some time. Try them out several times and "grow" with them - it may turn out quite differently than you think.

Sandro, no more blind buying
Wow.

Now I've been romping around on Parfumo for a few weeks and thanks to your reviews and writer-like comments, I'm getting a lot more buy than I was before. My skin and my surroundings are happy - my wallet less. Item.

Yesterday I read in a magazine that my discounter nearby is setting up a stand in front of the discounter this week, which sells brand perfume at fair prices. So let's go.

So if I'm standing there, I don't even know exactly what I'm gonna buy. "Hmm, what have you seen/read on Parfumo a few times? I did, I did, I did - MOMENT. What's with the blue star on it?! I know that from somewhere, don't I?" Price was reduced by almost 50%. Okay, let's go. Blind purchase. It'll be all right.

When I get home, I spray something on my wrist. YOUNG. What... is... that. Something in this top note doesn't appeal to me at all. I'm almost disgusted. Well, wait and see. An hour later, I still have this unpleasant fragrance on my wrist. NO - NOT LIKE THIS! I need to wash this off. It can't be.

Now I'm going to read through what the scents are like. Bergamot mhh not bad. Lavender mhh not bad. Peppermint interesting. CORIANDER?! Wait a minute, what?! What makes you think that (sorry my opinion) by far the most repulsive thing there is to put in a perfume? No, I'm good.

There are people who love this perfume - I'm definitely not :)

By the way, on Sundays I go to my parents for dinner, Dad can smell it and if he likes - please!

My favourite fragrance now
Dear Community

This is my very-first comment and I therefore ask for a little indulgence :)

I did TdH to myself this week after reading the reviews here and I have to say that this fragrance is just great. I don't (yet) know of any comparable fragrance.

At first, he really claps his hands. A mixture between earthy and citric. Honestly? It's not mine yet, so soon after it's applied. After 1-2 hours however this "force" lies down and on my skin he smells simply only ingeniously. How am I supposed to describe it? It's a masculine, mystical fragrance that makes me feel good and confident as I walk through the office and the city. My nose has taken a liking to this fragrance and so have I.

In terms of durability, it is not so strong for me personally. After 4-5 hours I smell very little of myself. I guess that varies from type to type - or?

In this sense a nice evening :)
