As refreshing as diving into a cool body of water on sweltering summers day...
...and then being served a fruity & chilled cocktail while a gentle breeze allows some rays of sunshine to slip through the trees surrounding the lake.

This is the only edition of CK One Summer I have ever had. I've smelled a few others but none seem to come even close to this fruity beauty. Like CK Be this to me is one of those highly addictive scents that I just love to smell, they're not similar scents but I find both extremely comforting and relaxing.

CK One Summer 2008 is just summer bliss, it contains hedione (the which is extracted from jasmin blossom. It's quite apt that 'hedione' comes from the Greek word 'hedone' meaning 'fun' or 'pleasure' and this could also describe this CK fragrance perfectly. It's brilliantly suited to those long, warm summer days where you spend almost all of your time outside, having fun with friends, or even just chilling in a park with a book in the shade of a plane tree, or on a beach somewhere under a palm tree (watch out for any coconuts!).

When I looked at the notes of this juice I was kind of surprised that it features no citrus. I always associated the most refreshing scents with citrus, but this has changed my opinion (I'm sure there are many fragrances like this too)! I could always smell the watermelon and cucumber though, which I guess give this stuff it's deeply aquatic feel. The dry-down is musky and there is an ever-present cool minty undertone which adds to the fresh feel.

This is an enticing and special kind of scent in my opinion, which I think most people will find hard to hate and some like myself will find difficult to forget. It lasts a decent amount of time for a fresh summer fragrance (if only CK Be lasted like this!) and makes a great alternative to a citrus scent on those hot summer days.

Join the club. All day and all of the night, man!
I'll start off by admitting to not have smelled the much loved 'Aventus' fragrance from the Paris-based house of Creed of which this is said to be one of the best 'clones'. That said, the hype was one of the main reasons that I wanted to purchase this creation from the house of Armaf. And I'm not disappointed.

Upon first spray I thought I had made another blind buy mistake, and like a previous reviewer, I proceeded to put the satisfyingly heavy yet kind of tacky bottle back in the box. Then, sometime between the 30-60 min mark I got this fantastic waft of smoky yet compelling and fresh fruitiness. I sniffed my wrist 'damn this still is actually not bad' I thought. A few minutes later I sniffed again, 'wow this smells good' and again maybe an hour later 'man, I love this stuff!' I thought.

I received a compliment from a family member who really isn't into perfumes at all 'that smells good!' she said, which was very surprising! I decided to give it a proper wearing out, during the day, and although I had no direct compliments I noticed that certain womens' reactions were more than positive. If I went into a store the female assistant seemed to be getting a little closer than usual as if trying to get a better whiff of me (haha, I'm not used to this at all!), while waiting for a tram a couple of girls slowly walked past me, then back again, seemed to be liking something, unless I'm just so irresistibly handsome (!) I believe it was the scent I was wearing! Perhaps people thought it was 'that' 'C.A.' fragrance inspired by the life of Emperor Napoleon , or perhaps they just liked the smell. I was an odd but interesting experience that day, and into the evening it was a similar situation!

I'm not a fan of the opening blast of CDNIM (it might grow on me though) but after a while it just becomes so delicious, to my nose it really does improve after an hour or so. I've read some rumours about recent batches being quite poor, well mine is from February 2018-made in France- and the performance is superb, strong sillage and very, very long lasting. The stuff will last for days on clothes. I think this is one of the best fragrance purchases I've ever made, I really like the scent, it puts me in a good mood and makes me feel more confident too, it's very masculine to my nose, and has an underlying freshness that lasts for hours (and hours). For me it's not an every day scent though, but perfect for a night out (or if you're in need of a morale boost). A great fragrance in it's own right from Armaf, good job!

Refreshing & cheap summer/sporty fragrance in an excellent bottle!
I ordered this after having tested the black & red JS Magnetic Power in a store and liking the bottle. Looking online I preferred the sound of the notes in this one as I wanted a cheap summer/sports scent. For under 8 euros what I got was the same excellent bottle design as found with the other 100ml fragrance, it feels expensive, nice to hold, great sprayer and top notch magnetic cap. So far so good.

On initial spray I was instantly reminded of Polo Sport by Ralph Lauren, at least I think so (!) as it's been so long since I smelled that one (it was my first ever 'serious' EDT in the 90s!). However I would say that JS Magnetic Power Navy Blue is a lot more simplified in comparison. After the initial (super-refreshing!) Lemon-mint opening blast dies down (about 30mins) I was left with a more musky scent, with the lemon-mint combo still present but bidding a hasty retreat. The other notes make only slight appearances if at all .

I remember Polo sport being pretty powerful compared to this and with a more interesting and spicy nature to it too. I think this could be unisex due to the softer and less masculine dry down. For my money though I would say this isn't too bad at all. As for longevity, this stuff has been on my arms for about 4.5 hours and I can still just make out a faint reminder if I put my nose to it. So it's far from beast mode. Perhaps a bit of a shame considering the excellent bottle/packaging but it's still decent value for money and for me a good, light and inoffensive sport/gym scent, so as not to waste my more expensive fragrances.

Update 21/06/2018 ; I've worn this a few more times in warm weather and for physio/fitness training and it actually lasts longer than I previously noted, I got 6+ hours so I'm really pleased with this. The sprayer is good but gives small soft bursts so I go with a couple more. The scent isn't an absolute favourite but it's pleasant enough in a sporty way without being too sharp or too sweet, good clean smelling stuff.
