Fast Fading Floral...
I purchased this sample last year, as was looking forward to perhaps having my own personal horoscope fragrance, that would be unique for me. I did test it once before, and was mystified by how quickly it faded. Put the tester away, and forgot about it. So, decided to try again today, as have all day to see how it develops. First of all, this is a pretty straight forward floral. It's like walking, very quickly through a small English Garden, and the Hyacinth and carnation are the notes I pick up right away, on application. Then, these tone down, not that they were loud to begin with, they are just there, and too faint for my liking). Then I smell the Narcissus and Immortelle..but once again, quite faint. I did get a whiff of the Melissa, but no vanilla, nor musk. And, after about 45 minutes, hardly a trace of anything. I re-applied 3 times, just to get the feel of it. This fragrance would suit someone who is almost afraid to wear perfume, and who likes a very calm type of floral. I was Quite upset, as really had my heart set on having a lovely Libra fragrance..Oh well..Thank goodness I didn't buy it blind, which I nearly did). Just to give you an idea of the price..this one in the ordinary bottle Libra woman)is about 90Euro's for 50 ml. And, the beautiful glass Flacon, with the refill container, is 500 Euro's. Yes, the glass flacon is fantastic, but not worth that huge price tag. Maybe it's because I'm used to fragrances with more personality, but this is like the shy wallflower at the back of the room, at the Saturday night dance.

Rose Water
I have had this sample for awhile, and finally decided to test it today. I am not a rose fragrance lover, have only liked a few). And, not really a fan of fruity florals. But this made the testing easier, as had no great expectations! First of all, I didn't pick up the lavender until the very end, and it was so slight, not even worth a mention. What I did get a blast of, when first applied, was the raspberry, followed by rose water essence. This bought back memories of me baking a special Easter type bread, a few years ago, and one of the ingredients is a rose petal essence. A Dr. Oetker baking essence. Yes, that's what came to mind after the first 5 minuets. Not a very attractive beginning, and a few hours later, nothing new to really like. Not one of his better creations, but will have to try some other of his rose scents. This is too fruity, and quite frankly, a bit of a disappointment.

Unforgettable Garden
This is how I would describe my second favorite of the Andy Tauer line. I had to test this several times, before I could really explain how this perfume appeals to me. First of all, the lavender. This is a lavender that is exactly like the one we have here in Croatia. From the Island of Hvar. When dried, if you crush it, it is strong, and almost dusty. He has really captured that in the opening notes. The frankincense seems to drift in and out throughout. I liked the burst of rose that was evident throughout. The dry down has the same incense, with a slight smoke accord, but not as noticeable as some of his other scents. It has a nice, slightly woody ending, with a touch of sandalwood. A very interesting garden, indeed!

My spicy favorite
I have to admit I am a big fan of Andy Tauer. But. I wouldn't write a review about all of his creations. Just because I have tried a few of his samples, doesn't make me an expert! Joking aside...I really love Tauer perfumes. I have had his discovery set, plus extra samples. Testing his creations was a pleasure for me. I still love smelling his little tin sample box, with half the samples gone, given away, and gifted to friends. I ordered the discovery set with no.12 included, Eau d'Epices ....knowing full well that MD. was the most popular. But. this one took my heart. It has no vanilla...big deal! But it reminded me of past gems that I have worn. I felt new, and somewhat younger, when I applied it. It must be the spice...and the complex way he has arranged the notes. It has a soft, but loud entrance..then the middle notes are old world..followed by a modern type of spice blast, which mellows nicely. I am so sorry I didn't purchase this straight away, now it is difficult to buy. Don't expect ordinary compliments...this fragrance is noticed by people who are alert to fragrances!

First Niche
This was my first Niche purchase. And, I bought it blind...I was so determined to have THE best vanilla fragrance. I purchased it based mainly on reviews, and this was my first lesson on getting samples first. Not that this perfume was wrong, it was just a shock, in the beginning. My first impression was, vanilla essence...Oh please no! But, that was just my nose getting used to the complete story. Once I applied, and let it settle, it was pure heaven. The almonds are very evident, as well as the dry vanilla. A very pleasant, but rich surrounding mist...but, so sad, as not very long lasting. Just when the whole story comes together...it fades. Stays close to the skin, but oh so briefly. Those who have a smaller perfume budget, would be disappointed, like myself). I have had quite a few of goutal samples, but have been wary purchasing again, as the staying power was just too short, for my liking.
