One of the best of its kind!
Ambre Tabac is one of the easiest and roundest to wear tobacco compositions.
I could now test the fragrance extensively and come to the conclusion that it is the most natural tobacco fragrance I own.
Here Daniel Josier has masterfully put two of my favorite notes, tobacco - here a bit dry and slightly sour on my skin - and sweet vanilla, delicious, almost creamy in the scene.
This scent is beautiful and "cozy" and I can definitely see similarities to Oajan, which incidentally I've come to love just as much in the cold season.
However, as far as durability goes, Ambre Tabac is worlds superior to Oajan!
This fragrance lasts and lasts and lasts..... and lasts :)

My conclusion:
Although this fragrance is relatively linear, for me it is one of the masterpieces in the world of fragrances.
Tobacco, vanilla, cinnamon, some incense and bergamot create a very long lasting warm atmosphere of pleasure here.

Caution: Addiction potential !!!

Love at first sniff!
For me, an almost "perfectly blended scent" - here (almost) everything seems coherent!

Cherry is definitely present from the start, with a slight tobacco nuance. There's no tobacco listed in the notes, so I would guess that it's a "fake note" made from tonka, cashmeran, labdanum and vanilla. Those notes, by the way, are also responsible for most of the sweetness in this gorgeous scent, along with the cherry.
Pink pepper and bergamot give the opening a fresh lift, preventing the scent from becoming too heavy or too sweet.
Heliotrope and orange blossom create a beautiful floral heart and blend seamlessly with the tobacco nuance.
I actually smell the heliotrope quite distinctly. It's a light almond / vanilla note that also nicely conveys the tobacco impression here. It adds a slight powdery sweetness that doesn't seem overdone at any point.
Overall, there are many notes here that could make the fragrance seem too sweet and unnatural, but perfumer Amelie Bourgeois blends them together so artfully that the overall work seems subtle and understated.

For me, an absolutely unisex fragrance that can be worn by male and female (necessarily) equally well.

Conclusion:
Refined, restrained, noble, mature, but not overly serious - almost perfect!

A Drunk Gourmand a la Sidonie Lancesseur
I note here again my admiration for this talented perfumer, Ms Sidonie Lancesseur - and refer to her skills/aesthetics in perfume art. The perfume comes close to a masterpiece - the notes of dried fruit, coffee, hazelnut, some cognac and leather combined in perfect harmony.

I often read that many complain about projection and longevity. I admit that I also struggle with it, however I find it far less bad as everyone complains.... or maybe I'm lucky and my skin doesn't swallow the perfume as fast :] ?! Anyway, for me the projection is average and the longevity at over 9 hours is even better than most other fragrances.

I consider 1270 another brilliant creation by Sidonie Lancesseur, who incidentally also created Black Phantom - another masterpiece in my opinion!

Chapeau to Frapin and Ms. Lanceusser for such a beautiful release.

The nobler Tuscan Leather
Before I write something about the fragrance - bottle and box are beautiful and very noble and valuable! Extremely heavy, high-quality glass.

As for the fragrance itself, I smell a leather accord that smells almost exactly like the one from TF Tuscan Leather. This is extremely odd, as there is no leather listed anywhere in the fragrance notes. I think that the leather accord is an olfactory illusion created from the combination of oud and ylang ylang, perhaps also an unlisted saffron ?!?!

Safari Extreme overall smells like a lighter, more elegant, more oriental and easier to wear version of Tuscan Leather.
While the leather accord is about the same as Tuscan Leather, everything else surrounding it is definitely different. The floral notes and vanilla smooth out the leather accord and the ylang ylang gives it a balsamic touch. The woods make sure that the floral notes don't come across as too feminine. While the citrus top notes add some lightness to the scent, it is still a very intense and dense scent. For the most part, the scent remains linear. The base is a bit more powdery, possibly due to iris and sandalwood.

One to two sprays are quite enough to create enough sillage and durability without drifting too much into the sweetness.

Overall, a very noble, balsamic, powdery, smooth, floral leather scent.

Absolute recommendation on my part!!!

AFRICA IN A BOTTLE
If you like spices and leather with a strong sillage and durability, then you should try this fragrance. In my opinion unisex with a tendency to man definitely what for the cold / autumn / winter. I think the name fits perfectly, it's Africa in a bottle. An "Indiana Jones" style fragrance, definitely not for the office. More like something for the open setting. And yeah, it's sexy!
My rating: 9/10!
