Untapped potential
Once again on quilting visit to my old home, I had to visit the local perfumery of course to gather new inspiration and perhaps also to expand my collection. Actually, I am looking for a citrus-creamy fragrance. Unfortunately, the search proved to date rather as a zero number, however, hope dies last. ;)

I could sniff me briefly by the nevertheless quite modest assortment. Then sprayed me the Trussardi on the tester. After a short wait until the top note disappeared, I dared a sniff and immediately I was captivated by the hazelnut. As a big nut fan, it was immediately clear, this fragrance will be taken. Said done.

The next day directly sprayed the new treasure. Immediately I perceived a slight sweetness, coupled with a minimal smokiness, the rum. In the background, you could already smell the hazelnut. After this promising opening, which lasts for fifteen minutes, I was already looking forward to the heart note. And there it was again, my beloved hazelnut. So far so good.
To my great regret, I had to realize that there is something else perceptible. A synthetic shower gel note, which I knew from before. The comparison with Duschdas Noire does not limp. I always liked to use this one as a child, as I truly adored this scent. But I don't want to smell like that anymore as a now twenty-something, especially I don't want that in a perfume. Unfortunately, this shower gel experience lasts until the very end. After about three to four hours, the hazelnut fades and the leather is perceptible, again with a minimal smokiness.
After about 7 hours, the fragrance is no longer perceptible. The sillage is still two to three hours. The bottle is okay, no more and no less. However, I find him inappropriate, he suggests but rather a sporty or aquatic fragrance, which is this Trussardi in any case. The fragrance is unisex for me and especially in the fall as a daily wearable.

Conclusion:
Would I recommend this fragrance? No.
Would I buy this fragrance again? No.
Is the fragrance bad? No.
I am a little annoyed with this fragrance. It had the potential to be a good one and it could have easily scored higher if it wasn't for that uninspired shower gel note. The composition of rum, hazelnut and leather and also that minimal smokiness is really interesting. One has put stones in one's own path here. Thus, the fragrance of Trussardi unfortunately sinks into insignificance

Full on 10!
Before I get to the actual fragrance itself, a little anecdote beforehand.

My Wenigkeit has, how should it be otherwise, once again a bulk order of various fillings in the Soukbereich of Parfumo transacted.

Besides among others PDM Layton, PDM Pegasus and Creeds Virgin Island Water, which should definitely be ordered, the view also fell on Creeds Viking. Quickly checked again the scent pyramid, as well as the scent direction and found with shock that this should be spicy-fresh and to top it all off also has a citrus top note. This is so not my direction, I like more sweet, oriental scents. Anyway, I thought, it can not be so bad and ordered incidentally a small 2 ml filling.

When then the longed fragrance mail was delivered, I gave the Creed Viking first no attention, the other fillings were more important, more interesting and so was extensively tested. One day grabbed me then but the curiosity and I had to test Creed Viking and what can I say, I was flashed from the first moment of this fragrance, it was love at first smell, so to speak, and once again has turned out, unexpected often comes ;)

Now to the fragrance itself:

Viking begins contrary to discreet citrus, although bergamot and lemon are in the top note. This provides a certain basic freshness. More dominant, however, are the rose, pepper and mint. The latter again provides a special feeling of freshness in the opening, without smelling like toothpaste or the like. The pepper provides a certain sharpness, while the rose as a counterpart softens this sharpness.

After about an hour, the citrus is gone and the heart note of pepper, mint and rose has free rein. Now it becomes clear why the fragrance is categorized as spicy-fresh, because the pepper provides this dominant spice, mint for the freshness and rose softens the whole, so that the counterpart is not slain. At the same time, the rose but also provides a small barely perceptible floral touch.
This interplay remains for about 5 hours existent.

After that, woody notes are gradually recognizable, through the sandalwood and vetiver. Patchouli and lavender remain until the end very clearly in the background and are barely perceptible. The base note and thus the conclusion remains a woody scent, which lasts another two hours before the fragrance is no longer perceptible to me.

I really can not explain what fascinates me so much about this fragrance. Creeds Viking doesn't reinvent the wheel, break it down and it remains a classic scent, through pepper and mint. As one perfumo wrote, it's reminiscent of the old classic bar shave. Through the rose you bring, in my opinion this fragrance into the modern age. But what I clearly like is the linear progression of the fragrance and the smooth transitions of top, heart and base notes. It gives me a sense of freedom and a break from the conformist society in which everyone wants to please everyone else. Maybe that's where the name Viking comes from.

About the durability, I can say that this is decent on my skin with 8 hours. The sillage is about 3 hours, after which it becomes close to the body. The bottle is well processed, but you expect that for the called price of Creed.

Conclusion:

For me, this fragrance is unique because it brings this classic fragrance direction in the modern age and thus creates a balance between old, known and new, unknown. To my luck or bad luck, depending on how you want to see it, I do not know the Creed Aventus (yet), so I was allowed to test unprejudiced the Creed Viking. The fragrance is clearly masculine, it is neither unisex nor feminine in nature. For me, it will become my new signature fragrance and it will certainly no longer be missing in my collection :)

Lavender field in Provence
This is my first review on Parfumo, please forgive me for any mistakes :)

Why Jean Paul Gaultier Le Mâle? Why did this fragrance in particular deserve my first review on Parfumo?

Apart from being the first designer fragrance I've had the pleasure of calling my own, this one has managed to do something that no single fragrance in my current collection has managed to do.

He evokes images in my mind's eye.

When I apply this fragrance, I am directly at a port in Provence. Expansive ships with oriental spices and herbs I can perceive. Adjacent a lushly blooming, purple lavender field. Omnipresent the fresh sea air that caresses one. I take deep breaths and enjoy.

These are the associations I have when wearing Le Mâle. I absolutely had to share these.

In advance, I must confess that I have by far not such a trained nose, which can smell out the individual ingredients, as some others or others in this community.

Le Mâle starts with a fresh, oriental aroma. At the beginning, the lavender is still in the background. After about an hour, however, this emerges from its shadowy existence and envelops its wearer in an aura that is balm for the soul and draws others under its spell. At the end, after about 7-8 hours, the lavender steps back into the background and something earthy-grassy appears, perhaps the amber?

Le Mâle is certainly not for everyone. But the fragrance does not want that at all. Rather, one must clearly engage with him. If you do this, you will be rewarded with images of Provence, abducted to another place.

Some may disagree, that's fine too. Maybe others will even agree with me?

Anyway, I wanted to make my passion for this fragrance known and who knows, maybe I could inspire one or the other, if he or she is not already addicted to this fragrance experience
