The only true gentleman
Moin moin dear Parfumos,
how should one please begin to describe this fragrance? So many things go through your head and makes you travel through time. When I wear this scent I have to think of so many different characters and Hollywood blockbusters. Whether it's Leo in The Great Gatsby or Daniel Craig in one of his Bond movies, or Ryan Gosling in La La land?! The list could go on forever.
It's time travel between the 1930s and the 2000s, but the parallel is always the same. A handsome, mysterious, eloquent, yet inscrutable man enters a bar, saloon, party, or any other establishment.
As soon as he enters the door, all eyes are on him (he can't help it). It's his aura, his demeanor, his entire appearance that people are inevitably fascinated by. Every person in the room wants to walk up to him, shake his hand, talk to him, share a drink.
But this gentleman is not looking for attention, he is constantly on one, on his mission. Most of the time you see him sitting at a no-limit hold'em poker table or at a bar. Most of the time he's drinking whiskey and holding a cigar with it, and he's always highly focused and right there with himself at every moment, knowing full well that he'll stand out and be noticed by the people around him. He barely speaks, mostly holds back, he doesn't come across as unfriendly, nor is he predominantly charming. He stays right at the point where people need to know more!
No one can predict what he will do next or what situation he will stumble into next.
But no matter what else the evening may bring, to the people who perceived him, he will be remembered as the one true gentleman.

About the fragrance:
This fragrance is for me an absolute, if not THE absolute masterpiece. We all know the kind of alcoholic fragrances (eg rum, whiskey, gin, scotch, etc.) but this fragrance reflects the whole again in an incredibly natural way. The interplay between the whisky, but also the gentle sweetness and the slightly balsamic notes, play perfectly together. Followed by the soft woody undertones in the base. Unfortunately for me, this scent lacks (at least from the imagination), a smoky component, such as tobacco. But even though this fragrance doesn't contain tobacco, it still gives me the idea that it's there somewhere and subliminally present. Is probably because of the situations, which one (s) with this fragrance connects.
I recommend this fragrance to every man from 30 and up. When should you wear this fragrance best? Weather technically I would classify this quite clearly in the direction of autumn / winter.
As a scenario, however, I would definitely choose something special for this. It should be at least a shirt, if not a suit. This fragrance deserves to be highlighted.
In my opinion, there is hardly, if not no fragrance that packs the theme of elegance, gentleman and alcoholic as well as this one. A timeless classic, whose DNA is never boring.
PS: Who this variant is a little too expensive, however, I recommend the two dupes of Dua "Liquid Mind Control | The Dua Brand / Dua Fragrances" or "Fire Mind Control | The Dua Brand / Dua Fragrances" . These come amazingly close to the original, remain at

as you can see in my previous reviews, these are usually written more in a kind of emotional direction or even associated with certain memories.
In this case, I would like to take you times on a more humorous journey.
My girlfriend / partner laughs anyway already always half floppy, if times again a new sample package or immediately one or more new fragrances are delivered by our usual DHL driver.
In this case, however, came directly after the first test a reaction with which I did not expect.

To the fragrance:
From my point of view, Ambre Tabac begins very spice-heavy, yes almost in properly Christmas market. I personally get at the beginning of a giant cloud of cinnamon in the ears, but also a very subtle freshness / effervescence by the bergamot, which is but only very subtly perceptible. Thus opens the fragrance mMn extremely sweet, even sweeter than bspw. "Herod | Parfums de Marly", which I would not have expected at all when reading the fragrance pyramid now.
The incense joins in, but keeps by the many spices and the cinnamon a rather subliminal and less dark role than one knows it bspw. from various other fragrances. The further course, whether the patchouli, the sandalwood or especially the tobacco, I perceive unfortunately hardly, neither on my skin nor on the test strip. The fragrance develops more in an amber direction, which is dedicated to vanilla and the amber accord in the base. Thus, the fragrance actually remains very sweet, whereby I would say merely from my sensation that this fragrance should rather be worn from 0 degrees and down.
Conclusion:
Who is here looking for a typical and rather dark tobacco fragrance like bspw. "Tobacco Oud | Tom Ford" or "Broken Theories | Kerosene", should be careful here when buying blind and rather get a sample in advance. However, who likes very sweet scents, which go in a more gourmand direction, will be extremely satisfied here.
What surprised me positively in the fragrance or this still (quite) unknown Nichenhaus from Spain, is the presentation. You get a really high-quality bottle, which is delivered in a great box at a really very fair price. The fragrance has in my opinion also a very high quality and is despite the somewhat mass DNA, relatively independent.
PS: The fragrance is declared as a men's fragrance, but I personally see this almost in the middle and can imagine this also wonderful on a woman! :-)

The most delicate temptation since leather was invented..
Normally, I am absolutely no friend of fragrances that contain a leather accord. Either they are too animalic for me, for example, "Leather Oud | Dior", or too spice-heavy, such as "Cuirs Nomades - Oriental Leather | Memo Paris", where leather actually plays only a minor role.
So now I got me a bottling of Anubis, because this fragrance has made me curious and the leather in this fragrance is present, but anything but animalic come across.
Full of respect so I spray my sample on my wrist and smell with the utmost caution and certain distance.
What awaits me here, however, I have neither imagined in advance, nor can guess.
The fragrance starts gently leathery, almost wild-leathery and is initially accompanied by a very gentle and s pleasant jasmine note. Relatively promptly after the drydown begins, the incense joins, followed a little later by saffron. Through these players, the leather develops into a leathery-butty properly, as if the now interacting fragrance compositions are accompanied by a gentle iris note. Last but not least sets mMn the labdanum, whereby the fragrance still gets a slightly subordinate-resinous leg note.
All in all, a really wonderful fragrance, which I would describe as gently leathery, smoky, resinous.
I can recommend this fragrance to any person who likes leathery fragrances in general as well as those who have a hard time with leathery fragrances, in this direction, however, would like to have a gentle variant and approach accordingly.
This fragrance own mMn very well for leisure, as well as for evenings on the prowl. The appropriate season is definitely autumn and winter, however, this fragrance should also at the beginning of spring can still be used.

Summer vacation - Vimmerby - 2010
It's been over 10 years now, but it seems like only yesterday. I was with my first great love and got to spend the summer vacation with her and her entire family in Vimmerby. Since I had at that time just 20 years on the hump, I thought before the start something like "I'd rather go to Spain" or "man... that's going to be super dull, the Baltic Sea is closer and would have done".
Man, how I was wrong in the end.
So we were by car on the way to Vimmerby in Sweden. This is noted in passing, the birthplace of a rather "unknown writer" is, which has written about a very strong girl with your horse and a small monkey, among other things.
After hours of driving, various stops and a perceived eternity of waiting, we arrived at the really huge property of the family.
Since I yes as an absolute city person, which until then at most times on the beach to camp as an experience held for a nature adventure, suddenly stranded in the perceived forest wilderness and was completely overwhelmed with it, hit me truly the culture shock!!!!
Around us there was in about 40 km radius neither city, nor supermarket or other, only pure forest area and pure (almost) untouched nature.
We slept in a kind of shed, where there was only a very small, uncomfortable bed. But that was not really the first shock for me, well... let's say "spoiled city brat".
When we opened this shed lay on the floor about 100 - 200 (a happiness) dead hornets!!!
My first thought was, "how do I get out of here alive"... ?!
However, when I "caught" myself again, I realized in the next few days for the first time in my life, how beautiful the pure and innocent nature can be, however.
Whether it was the spontaneous sounds of wild elks, or walkways full of dragonflies and butterflies, as well as water snakes and water spiders in the nearest lakes. Even the then also living hornets, which at this place just continuously around one cruising, have me at the latest after a few days nothing more made out, because it is on the one hand their territory and in the end there was nothing to be afraid of, apart from my allergy, which made itself felt but only years later (a happiness).
In addition to this experience, it was simply the huge forest and the associated green aura that surrounded one throughout (in a positive sense), which has since then let me develop more and more to the nature boy.
In the end, I have my first great love no longer at my side, but for another sparked and the memory of the above-mentioned positive impressions and images can not be taken away from me in the end anyway.

To the fragrance itself:
From the first spray, this fragrance gave me back the memory of that very time. Is not that crazy? For years I have not had to think about it, but the first moments after spraying on my skin have called me back exactly to that time.
It is in the end certainly the initial effervescence and the mix of the mandarin mixed with the cardamom, which gives one at the beginning simply an incredibly tingly and at the same time warm feeling on the skin and in the nose. Since the top note unfortunately fades too quickly in my view, but the actual share comes to light, which awakens the woody memory. It is in this case the larch, the pine cones as well as pine, which give off this wonderfully green, resinous and almost wet-woody note, which let you mentally put back to such a place.
On a side note, there is no comparable or rudimentarily similar fragrance for me, which makes it even more all the more special and unique at the same time.
PS: I personally take initially even a slight gin-tonic note was... is of course not listed, however, it must be due to this tingle, which must have a gin in combination with the chilled tonic water.

Hamburg - Neuer Wall - Summer 2012 - 30 degrees +++

after a very long time I give once again a review to the best, because I personally think that this candidate has definitely deserved it!
Let's rewind about 10 years. I was in my early twenties, athletic at my top level, in self-confidence hard to beat, every woman smiled at me (so I imagined) and on top of that I thought absolutely no one could do anything to me. In other words I was already a small arrogant and slightly inexperienced A...
Since I run now with a few buddies through the city and we are at the Jungfernstieg in Hamburg. The sun literally bangs down on all of us and felt one is in high summer in Sicily and no longer knows how to escape this heat.
But we finally have a goal in mind, which is not far away at the New Wall or the Hanse quarter.
It is this incredibly blatantly hyped new store from the USA.
Everyone wants, no they just have to get in there, there is no way around it and a no must not be accepted!!!
So also we, the excitement as big as before Christmas as small Steppkes.
Already from afar (followed 1 KM distance), comes to us this fresh, slightly masculine, but also slightly synthetic but still addictive fragrance. The queue also reaches back felt 1 KM, so great is the rush. When we finally dei may expect us apart from the fashion sold therein, perfumes etc. in swimwear dressed and ultra good-looking women and men. Apart from that, the whole store is taken by this incredibly crass fragrance and as it turns out, most of the clothes in the store are also "eingedieselt" with it.

Everyone here should of course be aware that the above time travel is not dedicated to Percival but to the fragrance "Fierce (Cologne) | Abercrombie & Fitch".
However, nowadays I associate Percival with exactly the described experience. What do the two candidates or Percival smell like now?
In my personal opinion / nose after strong the fragrance incredibly fresh and shower gel-like, which may well be due to the tangerine and aromatic notes. This note remains hanging in my opinion (fortunately) throughout, which makes him just extremely versatile to use (office, sports, leisure, date, spring, summer, autumn, casual... the list doesn't stop).
As for the heart and base notes, however, I am then somewhat out and my nose certainly does not pick up every single note of it, although I think that will be the same for many other Parfumos.
After the opening, the fragrance goes for my nose her in a further fresh, but also very spicy and slightly woody direction further and lingers in this state until the end.
Conclusion:
an all-time classic, which has perfected the original DNA of FIERCE in my opinion clearly more natural and also more rounded.
