Ms. Adrett-Wishli was initially assigned to the marketing department, then moved to the fragrance accompaniment of our exclusive fragrance "Brilliant Wish". There she is responsible for the largely independent support and accompaniment of our perfumers and has full power of attorney. To your extensive area of responsibility include in particular:
Placement of her service in the relevant forum to determine the fit in alignment with personal fragrance preferences,
Receipt, booking and order execution,
independently visits and accompaniment,
Reminder process if service is not fully utilized.
Ms Adrett-Wishli has an upbeat, sparkling and slightly citrusy demeanour and aura with a certain tendency to be green. She always manages to hide the barely present berry aroma with extreme skill and finesse. She skilfully uses her powdery violet leaf for the neat and clean aspect and knows how to convince with a subtle star jasmine and sweetness. Her philanthropy she underlines with warm amber and musk notes, which ensure a confidence-inspiring character and elegant appearance.
Ms. Adrett-Wishli completes the tasks assigned to her to our complete satisfaction and achieves the best work results. Determined and with an entrepreneurial mindset, she succeeds in acquiring new perfumers and inspiring them with her range of fragrances. Mr. Bompieri or how I got a barbershop scent!
Like a moth to a flame magically attracted to the scent pyramid and the fragrance notes of bergamot, artemisia, vetiver and oakmoss, I ordered a bottling of Colonia N°0 despite my lack of masculine attributes and interest in barbershop scents.
I do not care in principle whether a fragrance has been designed for women or men or for whomever, but I must nevertheless admit that the actual scent direction had escaped me at first (I and a barbershop fragrance?!). Should have been easy to deduce from the brand, actually. But since my joy of experimentation and desire for the fragrance have led me once again very inconspicuously deceived.
Therefore, I was very surprised and perplexed at the first test spraying. I was surprised with a timeless elegant, very Italian, citrus-woody fragrance and an eventful company history. I will now take you on a small nostalgic journey.
The shop Antica Barbieria Colla was founded in 1904 by Dino Colla in Milan. Dino Colla not only cut his exclusively male clientele's hair, shaved and trimmed beards, but probably also pampered them with a service that was novel at the time. There were steaming towels for the face after the shave, the hands were manicured and the first self-developed products cared for the demanding gentleman. Do you know the already deceased jewellery expert of the TV show "Kunst und Krempel", who always had such enviably shiny polished and lacquered fingernails? That's how I imagine the result and a truly elegant and snobbish gentleman. Logically, the shop also established itself as something of a communications and information hub and business and world affairs were discussed. From the 1960s, the shop was run jointly by Mr. Mantovanini and the newly hired Franco Bompieri, who is said to have learned the hairdressing trade at the tender age of 9 and is arguably considered a master of his craft. Since 2010, the daughter Francesca leads the family heritage from the past into the modern age and has turned the marketing around properly and created a new, modern, but also a very tradition-conscious image. The daughter seems to be quite determined and has offered the fragrances "Colonia N°1, Colonia N°9", Colonia N°0 to Colonia N°4 for the first time in free sale for the 111th anniversary of the company in 2015. Previously, the fragrances were used exclusively in stores. Each of the fragrances bears one of the digits of the founding year 1904.
Now to the Colonia N°0:
The fragrance starts citrusy with a juicy bergamot and gains increasing depth and a bright spiciness from birch and green-herbaceous juniper wood. The tart, slightly sweet and very aromatic Artemisia is already present at the beginning and dominates the course of the fragrance. You should already like artemisia / wormwood. A moderate base with light vetiver, aromatic spicy oakmoss and delicate hints of cedarwood give the fragrance some more volume and power. The sillage is moderate and the durability neat.
A pleasant-unobtrusive, unexciting and friendly daily companion*in.
I will continue to spray my bottling and enjoy this fragrance!
