Bow Down
This is a beautiful, beautiful floriental with finely blended incense and vanilla. This is so different from the bombshell tuberose fragrances I am used to that plop down in your face screaming "look at me" I can't really say I smell tuberose here but I smell Jasmine and Roses for sure. This actually smells like flowers, creamy, dainty little flowers that act as servants. Servants that continuously run to your beck and call as you crave for more.

The vanilla is ever present as the notes play ring around the rosy but they never fall down. They stand to fulfill your craving and you cannot get enough of the seamless intertwining of all the ingredients that are mixed by a master for sure. The incense is just right, not bossy or masculine, rather reserved like a sharp dressed man.

As a Queen rules over her castle, Angelique Ecens rule over her subjects. You may feel the need to courtesy but I recommend taking a bow.

Thank you ever so much to the kind member who gifted me this precious fragrance.

Dreamsicle
Although this fragrance is classified as a Citrus, my least favorite group, Jardin d' Amalfi is quite tolerable to my nose. This is not a bitter, sharp, migraine inducing citrus but a sweet, fresh, low profile citrus with energetic qualities.

I'm going to take a leap here and wager that the Amalfi tangerine, a note I am not very familiar with, is the culprit that allows me to enjoy this unique aroma. It seems like a vanilla plant cutting was grafted onto an orange tree and produced an amazing fruit flavor similar to that of an orange-cream popsicle.

The vetiver is not very prominent but it does give the musky creaminess an added boost. Nice and light but smooth and creamy. Whipped cream meets Orange Sorbet. If you mix Orange Juice, Milk, and 43 liquor, it makes an alcoholic beverage with the name Dreamscicle. That's what I'm wearing!

All for one and One for all
Creamy and smooth, very lady-like fragrance that has stolen a lot of hearts. There is a warm, syrupy richness that cannot be dismissed with that ever present kick that has lovers of this house in a trance.

My impression is that it smells a lot like every other Mugler on the market. Sure the Amber is velvety, the Vanilla and Wood are dreamy, but the signature Mugler-aide remains present throughout. This is probably more wearable than many of the others such as Angel and Womanity but it remains too close to comfort to justify the whopping price it demands.

Originality is not a strong suit of this house. I suppose the cult following is partially to blame as this house keeps popping out the same fragrance in a different bottle. I would venture to say that if just for once, they change the flavor and produce something even remotely different, the star status would be lost. As the old saying goes, "If it 'ain't broke don't fix it"

If you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Scent
Be Prepared
I welcome this loud powerhouse as it marks its territory. It jolts you into awareness with definitive presence. The Patchouli goes on strong but tame. Fresh earth and authentic wood tickle my cilia as I struggle to wait for the drydown.

My senses are heightened as this breath of clean, dirty air takes me back to a walk through the arboretum where I deeply inhaled the earthy smell of compost, soil, and mulch.

Imagine being at the summit of a roller coaster and swooping down into the serenity of safety. This is what you will experience when you cross paths with Patchouli Antique.

Although this fragrance is not complex, it stands out because it is aggressive and docile simultaneously. Patchouli Antique is a warm, feminine, beautiful representation of what fragrance lovers seek when they want the real deal. If you have the courage, take the plunge, just Be Prepared for a wild ride.

Best of the Fresh
Montale Red Aoud surprised me with a blast of sweetness straight out of the sprayer. I initially tested on the back of my hand but it was instant love so I decided to empty my tiny partially used sample vial. Soon after a full application, I noticed the freshness of this scent. This is a rich, opulent sweet freshness that I could not ignore. I was pretty impressed because I expected a heavy, dark, pungent Oud but instead I got a niche quality gourmand with a masculine edge. I did not detect the Oud note until around 8 hours after I first applied.

I continued to get delicious whiffs throughout the day but I beamed as a salesperson stuttered through his spiel because it was interrupted three times by, "Damn you smell good!"

Of the notes listed, my nose only knows Oud and vetiver. I suppose the vetiver can account for the freshness but the sweetness remains a mystery. I would compare this gem to Taueraide but I won't because both can't be Best but they are running neck in neck for Fresh.
