Respect for age
Oh good old Knische, what am I going to do with you? You are three times my age, a real (men's) classic, one of the first leather scents ever, which made it from Vienna to the big world and survived several scents. As "Unruh" has already mentioned here, you go with a suit or jeans and Harrington, which is why you were certainly the scent of choice of true gentlemen like David Niven, but also worn on the neck of Harrington-clad daredevils like James Dean. Even "newer" classics, like Antaeus, which I hold in high esteem, have the spirit of your inspiration attached to them. If only out of respect for your life's work, I will judge you with special "leniency". Because hand on heart: you do smell a bit stale, though not as stale as your age would suggest!

The first time I smelled you in the Knize store in Vienna. In this somewhat outdated-looking, not with the time really going and thus pleasantly inappropriate and nevertheless noble clothing store you fit really well. I took you with me only on the scent strip, which an elderly nice saleswoman handed me with the words: "This one is really something special! She had not promised too much and you remained me in lasting memory, which is why I ordered you again as a sample a long long time later.

About the fragrance: it opens really interesting and striking spicy, yes almost pungent, biting and reminiscent of aftershaves of older decades. Also a not fresh, rather musty (core) soapy smell clings to him. It seems a bit "chalky" to me, even a bit like an old leather cloth used to wipe the blackboard, in an old classroom furnished with wooden benches. Now it slowly starts to become more powdery and smells in the air, next to all the leathery spiciness, slightly vanilla and subtly sweet and I begin to understand why some women like it by itself . It has a lot of depth and increasingly reminds me of the smell of my 80s Antaeus miniature. I don't know if it's the castoreum contained together, but yes, it does seem a bit animalistic in a pleasant sense. Towards the end it smells a bit too much like old powder and a smell that I think "Fabistinkt" has hit well here, namely banana. Or vllt. better said banana peel, which has lain in the sun. I hope that sounds now not all worse than I mean it...in the end, you probably, as so often, arounds sniffing simply not avoid.

All in all, really interesting fragrance, but certainly not everyone's cup of tea. I personally have a lot of appreciation for the fragrance left and would like to see him on an older, in a pleasant sense conservative remained, somewhat stubborn, gentlemen who may be typical Viennese quiet a little grumpy. Or alternatively on a somewhat older wicked diva. And if you have some of that in you, then you will surely like it too. ; ) My sample I will hold in honor, but in the future but rather reach again to Antaeus, which I feel a little smoother, mystical and darker.

PS: The old man has by the way still quite a lot of stamina...the can even after several hours (and not too scarce) and his services are for a relatively narrow thaler to have.

PPS: Who are interested in a few women's reactions from the mind you scent strip...
Sister: "Reminds me somehow of ne old (made up) woman!"
Mother: "You've had worse! But a little old."
Cousin: "Iiieeeh!"

Thank you for your attention!

The Macho With Big Red Gum
I don't know about you, but this one totally reminds me of those Wrigley's "Big Red" cinnamon gums. According to pretty original and somehow horny opening. But as with the chewing gum, it all also flattens out pretty quickly and what remains is a somewhat antiquated patchouli / sandalwood base, which might appeal to some old schoolers and put off the slightly younger semesters (myself included).

Maybe a trashy accessory for the one or other retro / motto party, which may also go a little longer (because he performed quite well). Otherwise, tight jeans, half-open shirt (chest hair), necklace, mustache, mullet, a few splashes of Jōvans "sex appeal" and off to Pattaya. Then when cute Thai girls are in your arms, it's not because of your full wallet, it's because of this outstanding cologne. Promise! ; )

If you go with the flow, you don't swim badly!
With AHSEE Chanel has succeeded in a real tour de force!

Is the fragrance so innovative? In my opinion, not really, there are fragrances like Antaeus, Égoïste or even the Édition Blanche from the same house already significantly more original or distinctive and have more recognition value. Is it a fragrance of which I do not get enough and which I like extremely in itself? No.
Even if I previously mentioned fragrances (these are just "random" examples that I know well and just come from the same fragrance house) in a way, because of their originality, appreciate and "respect" more, they are AHSEE but in one point with me after: They are simply not nearly as often used by me. In fact, I would almost say that AHSEE is one of, if not the most used fragrance in my collection. The all-rounder qualities of Eau Extrême are well known and also equal more in the conclusion.

To the fragrance:
The fragrance pyramid given here can be smelled out m.E. well. A really nice tangerine-minty opening, pleasantly cool "metallic", which is immediately joined by the tonka bean as the main component. It's all bedded down on a nice clean white musk base, which gives the scent its "freshly ironed" and creamy flair. While the mandarin disappears rather swiftly, I find it amazing how long the fragrance can retain its freshness, in the never penetrating tonka bean sweetness. And there Eau Extrême is ahead of many competitors who have often spoiled my smelling pleasure with a very quickly fading freshness and a remaining sticky sweetness.

I almost forgot an important point, which should be of interest to some men reading here: The rumors about his qualities of success with the opposite sex are really true. I have already received numerous compliments for this fragrance (actually exclusively) from womankind. And I think I've also seen one or two women inhale it deeply - when I entered the room with it or during a fleeting embrace - and afterwards a positive impression could be read in their eyes. Imagination is also an education and the fact that I wear it quite often certainly plays a part in that. ; ) How does this, if I put it wickedly: almost unspectacular fragrance, manage to meet with so much favor? Some say that fragrances that tend to be liked by women on men have to be either very fresh or pleasantly beguilingly sweet and seductive. Eau Extrême, in my opinion, serves both clichés admirably without overdoing either side. It is and remains fresh without alienating with sharpness or "aggressiveness" and is pleasantly sweet without being cheesy or sticky. It's masculine yet approachable.

Conclusion: this fragrance is pretty well known among YouTubern, the community and also so (rightly) and is therefore certainly often worn. Nevertheless, he has certainly his not exactly low price before "protected" to become too inflationary. For specific situations, you may find better, but its reputation as a perfect season- and occasion-independent all-purpose weapon is absolutely justified, as which it is often used by me, if I'm at a loss in front of the perfume cabinet or just want to have him. He actually fits just about every type of man and also no matter what age he is

Like brushing your teeth at the barber
First of all: I've been reading this beautiful forum for a very long time now and have been able to draw so much inspiration and good things from the many reviews here. Time to celebrate my "debut" to give the community what back and to write my first review.

It has already been mentioned here many times that the guys and gals of the replica marketing department have done a good job. Different situations of life in a concrete fragrance to capture is m.E. a good idea and has definitely been able to attract my attention, especially with regard to this fragrance or even the all too familiar Jazz Club. Nevertheless, a slightly bland aftertaste remains with me, whether I actually want to smell like a "specific situation" or a "specific place"...but I do not want to drift...

About the scent: job done! If you buy At the Barber's hoping to get a shaving scent/fougère, you shouldn't be disappointed at first. The first time I smelled immediately Drakkar Noir came to mind, only more modern and perhaps deprived of its, on some possibly old-fashioned corners and edges. When repeatedly testing the comparison to Drakkar Noir wanted to adjust less and less, which is to be evaluated in the sense of independence quite positive. Personally, the scent immediately reminds me, in addition to the clear shaving notes, of toothpaste or the smell as a child, when I came into the bathroom, my father had shaved, brushed his teeth and rinsed his mouth with Odol mouthwash and there was still a good gush of mint / menthol in the air. That's why I'm a bit surprised that nothing like that is listed here in the notes. While the mint present in many fresh fragrances in the top note quickly fades, I perceive this throughout until the scent fades.

Entry into my collection At the Barber's will probably still not hold. For me, it is, despite generous application, from the beginning extremely close to the body and was of my fellow men, if then rather subtly and not really perceivable as a perfume. The durability is about 4-6 hours for me, while the sillage is almost non-existent. Despite everything, I must admit there was, fresh after application of course, already a compliment for the fragrance. The fragrance is, in my opinion, well wearable by all my gender comrades (because male it definitely is) from the age of first bar growth and up. This one doesn't clash anywhere, doesn't bother anyone, and has a pleasant freshness and mild spiciness. Definitely see this in casual wear or very good in the office and won't look bad in sports either. For dates or evening events, he is me too little distinctive, not really sexy and too light.

So who has nothing against fragrances of the older school, can (rather) times Azzaro pour Homme, Drakkar Noir or if you still get him YSL's Rive Gauche try and if it may be more modern perhaps the MFK- Masculin Pluriel or maybe Chanels Platinum Égoiste.

I hope that helps the or others a little further.
