Jump into the waves
Hello fragrance fanatics, welcome to a new fragrance review from me. This time I have put my nose into the fragrance 23NAO - North Atlantic Ocean by Agua de Surf! As you can tell from the name, it's a brand founded by surf lovers, so it's no wonder that here comes a fragrance that bears the name of the North Atlantic Ocean.

According to the description, this fragrance is reminiscent of both the cold and salty seawater of the ocean and the typical vegetation of coastal areas, such as sea cucumbers that grow on the rocks of the coasts... ha ha, that was a joke, I KNOW that sea cucumbers are animals, after all, I know a lot more about animals than plants :D

Anyway, the whole thing sounds quite nice, after all, you have certain associations with something like that, like a great vacation and such. Yes, I'm sure most people are already wishing for summer anyway, now that it's still cool and rainy... sigh, I'd rather have fall because of Halloween, which I love so much and recently put up some great decorations and carved a pumpkin. Well, I had to hand over almost my entire supply of sweets to sticky, squishy children's hands on Halloween evening, but what the heck, it only happens once a year! :D But I digress, once again...

So back to the smell of surfing. Well, I don't know anything about surfing. I like jumping into the waves in the water, but then I often lose my glasses (fortunately only cheap glasses, if I don't have contact lenses to hand and therefore have to go into the water with glasses). The fact that this always happens when the waves cause a good friend's bra to slip and expose her and I can't see ANYTHING but blurry skin on an otherwise very interesting part of my body because of the lost glasses is much more tragic... *sigh* :DD And of course it always has to happen to ME... I really need to get contact lenses again!!!

Soo, let's smell what this fragrance smells like. Or rather, I smell and write, and you read and criticize me :D

The fragrance:
I smell sage, black pepper and a fair amount of oud at the beginning and wonder why a fragrance named after the North Atlantic contains oud... but the oud soon fades, even though the fragrance doesn't smell aquatic (yet) despite a certain freshness. After a few minutes, however, this actually changes, giving the fragrance an aquatic touch, and together with the ambery sweetness, it doesn't smell bad at all. The oud is now more in the background, but a somewhat earthy note emerges with the vetiver, which fits in well with the rest.
As the fragrance progresses, the oud returns a little and smells about as intense as the vetiver. From the middle section onwards, woody notes also emerge, which become more intense over time and also smell very good. These woody notes can then be clearly identified as cedar wood. Due to the distinctive cedar, however, the fragrance seems more masculine than unisex to me.
Towards the end, the fragrance remains woody and sweetish due to the cedar and amber, and a little later it becomes a little more earthy and tart... I think after the sweeter notes have faded, you can smell the oud and vetiver better again.

The sillage and the durability:
The sillage is okay at the beginning, then weakens a little, but is generally more intense than most other summer fragrances. This is probably due to fragrance notes such as oud, vetiver and woody scents. So you can certainly smell it for a while when it's close to you. I would put the longevity at eight to ten hours, which is pretty good.

The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and has a thicker base. On the front you can see the name and brand, as well as the logo in the form of a fish silhouette. The lid is particularly beautiful and creative. It appears to be made of stone and is slightly bent. Some blue has been added to the top of the bent area. This means that the lid represents a cross-section of a coastline, which is pretty great and creative! All in all, the bottle turned out really great precisely because of the lid.

Conclusion:
Soo, first of all two things: the fragrance smells fresh, but doesn't necessarily remind me of the North Atlantic or the ocean at all. It smells much more like one of the shower gels that I actually quite like using: Duschdas Noire, which has quite an intense cedarwood scent. Perhaps this is also due to the slightly synthetic aftertaste of the fragrance, which reminds me of a shower gel.
Secondly, precisely because of the cedarwood and the slightly Barbarshop-like aura, I would say that the fragrance is for the most part more masculine and therefore suits men better than women.

Otherwise, as mentioned, it is a solid and fresh (although not quite as fresh as citrusy fragrances), woody summer fragrance that starts with a few scent notes, but then "specializes" more in cedarwood, amber and some vetiver in the base. It can be used mainly in spring, summer and even in fall as a daytime fragrance, as it is a little too unspectacular for going out.

So you can give it a try if you like woody and aquatic fragrances. And that's it from me again, I wish you all a nice evening! See you next time :)

Spring is coming and the cat is leaving!
Hello folks! I'm finally back after such a long time. First of all: I wish you all a happy new year! Whew... it's already February, that's a whole month late... but I've been too busy with... cats! Yes haaa, that's actually true. The cat lady has become very, very exhausting and energy-sapping lately. Well, some of you know that my cat has been deaf since birth. That's why I can't let her out unsupervised. But luckily we live on the first floor of a three-family house, so we have access to the garden. We have therefore secured part of the garden so that the little one can at least stay outside, which often works quite well. But unfortunately she always finds new ways to escape.

Like the other day when she discovered that the tomato plants in a wooden frame (the frame serves to stabilize the tall plants so that they don't topple over in wind and weather) don't have any tomatoes in winter and so there is no dense plant material! So she could easily jump onto the pots and from there jump up onto the wooden frame. From there it went on to a windowsill and then, over the net and hooray off to freedom! :DD Ufff... now we've fixed that up again, it's only a matter of time before she finds another weak spot somewhere and runs off again, argh!!!!

So, but this is supposed to be about fragrances, despite all the difficulties I was able to try one or two fragrances again... so today I'm introducing you to the fragrance "Forever and Ever" by Dior, which was released in 2006. The fragrance was reformulated in 2009 and included in the "Les Créations de Monsieur Dior" collection. The fragrances in this collection are intended to evoke Christian Dior's most beautiful dresses. There are only a few fragrances in this collection, and each of these fragrances is also considerably more expensive than a "normal" Dior fragrance. Well, now comes my description of what the fragrance was like for me!

The fragrance:
The fragrance begins delicately, softly, somewhat creamy and very slightly sweet. It is of course mainly floral, but fortunately not overpowering (I know, I say that a lot...). Of the floral notes, however, I somehow have difficulty perceiving the freesia listed in the top note. After a few minutes, the roses start to appear. I can also smell the first signs of vanilla (which is loose here), which is quite nice. After a short while, I'm finally hit by a scent that reminds me a little of freesia (okay, I don't know anything about freesia, but I'm just using a process of elimination to classify this scent as freesia... you didn't actually think I knew what freesia was, did you? After all, I almost always type in frisbee first instead of freesia... he he :D), but this scent remains far in the background.
There's a bit of musk at the end, but otherwise I smell almost only delicately sweet, floral notes, although the fragrance also leaves a great, clean and creamy impression.

The sillage and longevity:
The fragrance feels so light that you have the feeling that it will disappear immediately. Even if this is not really the case, the radiance is still quite weak, so that it will hardly be noticed by anyone, even with a larger dosage, unless you are in the immediate vicinity. This means that it only lasts for a few hours and most of it will only be noticeable close to the body.

The bottle:
The bottle is clear, thin and rises slightly upwards like a trapezoid. There is a round indentation on the front in which the fragrance name is printed on the glass. The fragrance liquid is light pink and therefore matches the delicately sweet scent. The neck of the bottle is chrome-plated and looks like a spool of thread. A hemispherical lid sits on top. All in all, a beautiful bottle.

Conclusion:
As I wrote at the beginning, this fragrance is simply beautiful. I'm pretty sure that you girls might really like it (at least I hope so, otherwise I doubt my nose..... aaaaaarghh.....!) despite my different tastes and fragrance impressions. I would even recommend filling the fragrance into a small atomizer, as it is unfortunately quite weak and should therefore be sprayed more often.

The fragrance smells the way spring smells. Like a good mood, like flowers blooming happily and, to use the words of a friend: like colorful exploding trees (and other botanical stuff... :D). If you test it, please only do so when it gets warmer again. Otherwise you will hardly notice the scent, as it is quite light. And that's also the biggest catch with this fragrance: for being so damn short-lived and light, it's damn expensive! But if that doesn't bother you, feel free to test it, after all, this is Parfumo, a forum for crazy fragrance fanatics who stick their noses in everywhere and... once you're infatuated with a fragrance, the price almost doesn't matter anymore, you freaks, you!!!! (And it's even contagious, because although I always moan about short-lived fragrances with weak sillage, I also have a fragrance that doesn't last 10 minutes on me and, like this one, is really expensive... ... Tom Ford - Mandarino di Amalfi... ufff.... :D).

Well, that's it from me again. I wish you all a nice evening, and I... I'm going to check the fence in the rain to see if it's still holding, because despite the rain my little cat keeps wanting to go out because, like you ladies here, she's also quite crazy... :D Oh, by the way, I've added two or three new pictures of her to my album!
See you then!

Vanilla to bite into?
Hello perfume freaks! Where have you stuck your noses in again today? :D
Hey there, I recently tried the "American Cream" fragrance from Lush. A good friend of mine really likes the scent, so I gave it a try too. And yes, of course most women like it - after all, it contains vanilla, which is one of the most popular fragrances ever! Are you also really into vanilla? No, don't tell me. For you freaks, it just has to be "a fragrance", no matter what, to make you happy, right? Hey hey hey, what's it like when people ask you if you all like perfumes just because you love fragrances? Yeah yeah, it's like me with Star Wars. You always think I like everything that has Star Wars on it, but I don't like all of it and I don't have to have all of it. I mean, there's also a lot of nonsensical stuff that nobody needs, like those overpriced kitchen towels with the Star Wars - The Mandalorian logo on them that I got myself the other day... in the end, they're thrown away after use anyway... Well, now you know what it's like to be called a freak all the time just because you like something :D

As for vanilla, I like the scent of vanilla too. What's more, vanilla often makes me think of Christmas. And it's almost that time again, Christmas is less than 2 weeks away, or as we guys always say: just 2 more showers and it's Christmas! :DD

Okay, but back to the Lush fragrance!
So I tried the fragrance on a friend's bottle. I haven't been in a Lush store for a long time, I've only been there very rarely, for example when a friend wanted to pop in while shopping or something... and then I always wondered whether we'd arrived at a greengrocer's and cheesemonger's he he. Yes, I now know that this is the Lush style. The soaps and stuff just look like food. Which is kind of cool, but I still sometimes get the feeling that the people there (both the sales clerks and the customers) seem a little snootier than the average person... but that may have been just me, because I felt slightly out of place, but good.
In any case, this fragrance is supposed to be perfect for anyone who wants to smell good "to bite into". At least according to the manufacturer. Well, we'll see!

The fragrance:
I smell a great, sweet vanilla right at the beginning. I can also smell sage, at least in the top note. There is also lavender and great resins. After a few minutes, it smells creamier and creamier, which is quite nice.
The oranges, well... I couldn't detect them on the first test, but on a second test they were suddenly there. The strawberries, on the other hand, I could barely smell, perhaps they were just drowned out by the rather strong vanilla notes and the resinous scents.
A little later, I continue to smell vanilla (of course, the vanilla will be present throughout the fragrance) and a surprisingly strong orange.
Then, towards the end, the fragrance becomes more powdery instead of creamy and the oranges become much weaker and soon disappear. You gradually realize that the end will be like most fragrances that have a strong vanilla to offer: Namely, that the end actually smells almost entirely of vanilla and that the fragrance is then barely distinguishable from other fragrances. That's not a bad thing, because the vanilla smells good and is also long-lasting, but if you have a lot of vanilla fragrances like this, then there are hardly any significant differences to the other fragrances in the later base. As with the other vanilla fragrances, the distinctive part of the scent here is more in the top and heart notes and perhaps at least at the beginning of the base. Nevertheless, all in all it is quite a nice fragrance.

The sillage and the longevity:
The sillage is okay, but somehow I don't find it as strong as the reviews on Parfumo show. That doesn't mean it's not smellable though, I'm sure you should be able to smell the fragrance quite well in a, just maybe not outside in cooler weather.
In terms of longevity, the fragrance stays on the skin for quite a long time. Depending on the dose, it can easily last 10 hours.

The bottle:
The bottle is quite simple. It is rectangular and filled with golden fragrance liquid. On the front you can see the label with the name and brand, on the back there is another label with the "ingredients", which is interesting. The lid is cylindrical and somehow quite thin, it almost looks rather cheap as you can easily squeeze it. In any case, the bottle is nothing special and therefore just okay and functional.

Conclusion:
So... okay, so I didn't think the fragrance was bad. It was actually quite nice and yes, it's definitely worth a test. However, it wasn't that special for me either, but that could also be because I've tried so many fragrances in the meantime and so for me, vanilla fragrances end up smelling quite similar.

In any case, the fragrance is best suited for cooler days, but it's not too heavy for a vanilla fragrance, so it could also be worn in spring, especially because of the fresh orange notes in the scent. You can then use the fragrance for all sorts of things, either for yourself or for going out. And as the manufacturer claims, it is indeed the case that the fragrance makes you smell delicious. However, this applies to most vanilla fragrances, as vanilla generally smells very good and delicious.

By the way, if anyone is wondering whether the fragrance smells "soapy" because it is from Lush and they also have a lot of bath bombs and soaps to choose from, then I have to say: No, the fragrance seemed clean to me, but not necessarily soapy.

Well, that's it from me. I don't know if I'll be writing another fragrance review this year, so I'd like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

But I will try to write a Christmas blog like I do every year, which I will publish around the holidays, if I hope it works out! :)

Well then, have a nice evening and see you :)

My mother's porcelain plates
Hi guys, today I'm writing about the latest summery men's fragrance from Dolce&Gabbana: Light Blue pour Homme Summer Vibes. It came out this year (i.e. 2023) and immediately caught my eye due to the eye-catching painting on the bottle and even reminded me of other things, like my mother's old plates, which also had such a blue painting and which were eventually discarded in the garden of horrors.

Why the garden of horrors? Well, friends of ours used to have a small garden that didn't look very well-kept because it was constantly being abandoned. And everyone had stored their old things there that were no longer needed, like the aforementioned plates from my mother, who had actually meant well so that there would be more plates in the garden. Before the garden was completely abandoned, there was still a hut there that was really rotten. Just imagine the whole thing as one of those totally dirty and dilapidated huts from horror films, where psychopathic types lure and hold their victims captive and talk something about "it rubs the lotion on its skin" or something, and no, by lotion they certainly don't mean some great cosmetic cream or something...! And then they tie up their victims, go to a cupboard, take out a bottle and spray it on the victim to torture them terribly, terribly, because the bottles contain death scents like Black Orchid by Tom Ford or, even worse, Love Coconut by We love NY or something like that (yes,... you have to try it, uuuuhhhh!!!)... where you really suffocate! d

Anyway, I think I've digressed enough, so back to the scent! I just wanted to point out that the pattern on the bottle of this fragrance reminded me of my mother's old plates! Whew... I'm really rambling! :D

But now to the fragrance! Yes, it's a summer fragrance and I tried it in summer too, but somehow I just didn't get around to posting this review here. Which is finally happening now!

The fragrance:
The fragrance starts with citrusy and therefore quite refreshing notes. This is really good in the hot summer, as is the case with most citrus fragrances. It may not really come into its own in winter, when I'm finally presenting the fragrance here, especially when it's so cold that even my cats don't really want to go out, but I'm sure you know what I mean. I tried the fragrance in late summer so that it could really unfold when I tested it.
Okay, next I smell peach... yes, the fragrance is also fruity, but the peach seems quite synthetic to me. Or maybe the fragrance has more synthetic notes that gradually come to the fore and overpower the other notes a little.
Later on, there is a light, woody touch, slightly sweet scents and, surprisingly, citrus notes (although these are best perceived only when smelling very close to the skin). Of course, there is also a bit of the aforementioned synthetics, which fortunately are no longer as strong as in the middle section, but still remain until the end of the fragrance and blend with woody notes in the base. However, I had the feeling that the synthetic notes became stronger again at the end. In general, the end is only mediocre without anything striking about it that would make the fragrance easily recognizable. For me, this makes the fragrance rather irrelevant for the most part. It's still nice, but the synthetics, which return later at the end and are then stronger again, bother me a little.

The sillage and the longevity:
The radiance is mediocre. Sure, the sillage is quite good at the beginning due to the refreshing fragrance notes, but then the radiance quickly diminishes, as is unfortunately the case with most citrus fragrances. And as is typical for summer fragrances, you should assume that it will not last very long. After four to five hours, most of it has evaporated. Although 4-5 hours is quite good for a summer fragrance.

The bottle:
The bottle is slightly round or bulbous, white and has a beautiful blue plant pattern on it, which makes the bottle a real eye-catcher as it stands out from many other bottles. The lid is cylindrical and both chrome-plated and white in color. There is no label, the name is printed directly on the bottle instead. All in all, the bottle is very successful and very beautiful. Strangely enough, I find that this bottle looks more feminine than the women's fragrance version, which in turn looks more masculine with its rectangular design.

Conclusion:
Well... I think the fragrance could have been a somewhat trivial, but still nice summer fragrance. Basically, it's nice, but I don't like the somewhat cheap, synthetic aura that emanates quite strongly from time to time, especially towards the end. Therefore, I would almost say that the fragrance is not worth the beautiful bottle.

As you have probably noticed, the fragrance was intended for the summer, as a refresher that only fulfills its purpose to a limited extent. It's not really suitable for going out either, so I can't really recommend the fragrance for testing. Perhaps other Light Blue fragrances from Dolce & Gabbana are better, but I'm not yet familiar enough with them to be able to write anything reliable here. In any case, a friend said that the women's version of the fragrance is much nicer!

So this fragrance would disappear into oblivion somewhere... maybe on a dilapidated shelf in the garden of horrors mentioned at the beginning... although... the bottle is already an eye-catcher, so it could still be interesting for collectors of beautiful bottles, especially if it's on sale or here from the souk.

And that's it from me again! I wish you all a nice evening, see you next time :)

An oily summer
Hello you smelling pack! Or would you rather I call you "smelly people"? How about "Hello you smelling pack?" d Hey hey, just pick something for yourselves, anything goes for me :D

Anyway, today I describe the fragrance "Herbs & Sea Salt" from DUA Fragrances, a brand that now has so some pretty good scents. Of course, most of the fragrances of DUA have been inspired by other, well-known fragrances, some say therefore sometimes also that DUA would simply imitate great brands, well, there everyone can decide for himself what he wants to think. In any case, the fragrances are but in my opinion clearly higher quality than many other "Dupes". But let's get back to the fragrance.

Herbs and Sea Salt sounds like a good combination. Because fragrances with names like Sea Salt usually aim at the summer and for me smell summer scents in combination with tart fragrances like various herbs always super. Of course, it always depends on the herbs, sage and rosemary, for example, are just top, with coriander, however, I rather run away, uuh! Only celery is even worse, but fortunately celery is not available as a fragrance, right? Times briefly on Parfumo look confirms me... WHAT? Oh no, there are actually fragrances with celery, ufff!

Probably there is nothing anyway, which was not already used as a fragrance,... one handled yes finally even with... ummm... male "love excretions" (see for example "Le Parfum - Orgie" by Mugler)... urgh! :D
He he, I think now I digress so slowly :D

Soo, so back to the fragrance. As I said herbs always sound great, let's see how that is in combination with "Sea Salt":

The fragrance:
The fragrance starts fresh and citrusy. I smell lemons and a light, nice sweetness at first. In addition, the fragrance becomes aquatic and then also gets salty notes, which are well smellable, but not biting. The scent also has herbs to offer, as the name suggests. In this case, I smell, as indicated here on Parfumo, mainly sage, which fits very well with the lemon.
Later, one continues to smell this summery mix, with the salty notes already starting to weaken.
Also in the base you can smell more citrusy scents, but especially a nice sweetness. The herbs are weaker now, as are the salty scents. But on the whole, the scent barely changes from the first spray to the finish. It stays nice and fresh, so it fits well in warm days. At the very end, I felt as if you could smell the salt better again, but that was probably just because many other scents had died down by then.

The sillage and the durability:
The sillage is okay for a citrus scent, I would say it's stronger than the average citrus scent. Still, it is a citrus fragrance, so do not expect people to be able to perceive the scent for hours at a great distance at one!
The durability I would give so with six hours. Even if he is still a little smellable afterwards, so he is then only very close to the body.

The flacon:
The bottle is rectangular, narrow and has slightly rounded edges. On the front is a large label, where you can see a picture of salt and herbs on a gray background. This is accompanied by the name and logo of the brand. The name of the fragrance is also written on the side once again in large letters. The lid is cylindrical and has a wooden lining, which makes the bottle appear more high-end. All in all, the bottle is quite okay and through the image also comes a certain variety in the fragrance shelf.

@!Conclusion:*
Soo, first of all something that I really did NOT like about the fragrance and would therefore never use it, even if it smells so good: the fragrance is damn OILY! Yes, the scent is really greasy :D My arm still shines a little, because you must know that when I test a fragrance to describe, I always spray myself a little more than usual to be able to test the fragrance well. And that's why when I sprayed, I had the feeling as if I had bathed with olive oil (... yes yes, now I'm sure some say: Is healthy! Bahhh... :D). It is really very greasy, greasy and as I said oily. And I personally do not like it at all when I have oily fingers, that babbt then everywhere and it is simply IGITT!!!! :DD

Anyway, now you know. When spraying on normally, this will perhaps act less extreme, but as I said, I spray all fragrances when testing properly, and over 90% of the fragrances are usually not so oily with me.

But well, anyway, the fragrance smells nice in itself, especially if you like salty notes. The citrusy freshness fits very well in the summer and together with the herbaceous fragrance notes and the slight sweetness smells even better, and especially not "just citrusy".
You can use it mainly as a daytime fragrance or leisure, to go out he is a bit too unspectacular. He could also go well as a vacation fragrance, after all, one says with crowded beaches "lie like sardines", right? Well then, this fragrance would be together with its oily consistency but the ideal fragrance for a hot, crowded beach day! :D

So, if you do not mind the oily, then the fragrance is certainly worth a look or a sniff!

That's it again from me, I wish you all a nice evening and until next time :)
