My chosen one
I will make it quite short and also nothing to the smell notes say, since everything was already there said.

It was one of my first niche fragrances that I bought blindly after a long internet research, and besides Creed Aventus it is the only fragrance I immediately 'fell in love with'. If I had to choose three fragrances, he would definitely be there as a fragrance for cold days. Simply a fucking horny fragrance, with two limitations:

#One 'loves' or 'hates' him, there's nothing in between.
All the other scents I know bring a wide range of answers, but the Layton doesn't. People are about 75-80 % enthusiastic or 20-25 % completely disinclined, and there is only a very small number of people in between.

#2 He's a loser when it comes to direct comparison with vanilla fragrances. Against fragrances without an extremely strong tendency to vanilla he is simply an unsurpassable opponent, but against a Nishane Ani or Bijon Aura Sublime he is a disappointment. Although I would always prefer the Layton to these two fragrances, it and its vanilla note suddenly smell 'cheap', synthetic and rather unpleasant in direct comparison. Here one simply notices that it is simply not designed as a pure vanilla fragrance, even though many people primarily break it down to vanilla.

Unfortunately, the fragrance is so good that it was bought by three people despite the price. And not by crazy people like you, but by people who otherwise think I'm crazy for the prices of my perfumes and for whom everything over 80-90 Euro for 100 ml is too expensive. With two of the three people it will remain by far the most expensive fragrance

"Boaaaahh! What a fragrance!"
The Interlude Man is my second tested fragrance from Amouage. I had high expectations because the brother had already knocked me out.

The first thought with the older brother was:
"Boaaaahh! What a fragrance!"

And the little brother? That immediately brought this thought:
"Boaaaahh! What a scent!"

Same first thought... but the directions couldn't be more different...
-The big brother:
Fresh, clean, clear and nevertheless not really to be assigned from the smell (as a layman) what one smells there.
-The little brother:
Stinging, spicy and somehow reminds me of cucumbers and mustard. Both foods that aren't necessarily at the top of my list.

Immediately washed off the skin again and threw away the sample after the test with two other interested persons. Sure it's not as bad as me and one of the other two people thinks it is (the third person at least thought it was "okay"), but for MY nose it's an absolute no-go/fiasco.

But what you have to take advantage of the scent, at least after the first washing up (including soap), the scent was still there....

Herod "Light"
Before I tested this fragrance, I asked two other users how they would classify it compared to Herod and Layton. They saw him on one side completely independently and on the other side in the middle between the two scents.

Although some scents match Layton, I could see little proximity between the two scents. At most, the sweet vanilla gives a hint of kinship.

It looked different with the Herod..... although there are only limited similarities with vanilla, patchouli and osmanthus, here the family tree can hardly be denied (MY MEINUNG NACH)

To show my impression more pictorial:
Herod is a very interesting person. An energetic, muscle-bound and untamed workhorse who works day and night at your side. But the presence of this can also overwhelm or even crush you. On the other side is Carlisle, the "son" of Herod. However, here the "mother" does not seem to be a muscular workhorse, but a master of tenderness. Carlisle is also a powerhouse... but slimmer, softer, more reserved, more tender, rounder and simply more defined in the motion sequence. Almost every step sits and its presence is always noticeable, just like with the "father". However, it does not overtax/crush, but leaves behind a respectful amazement.
Herod is the friendly bodybuilder who also likes to get louder, is a bit more pushy and doesn't shy away from conflict. Carlisle is the strong and reserved gentleman in the suit who attracts attention. Both take the environment for themselves. Herod can also score with character, but his appearance makes it difficult to look deeper. Carlisle has a very similar character, but not so loud and intrusive. Its presence is never overwhelming, yet it draws you under its spell. Carlisle is simply one of those people who enter a room and are liked or respected by almost everyone the same way, and you're not even 100% sure "why?".

In short: a sweet fragrance, less intense than a Herod, but with a strong hold and a strong sillage. If you don't like sweetness and/or vanilla, you may be overwhelmed with it

Summer snacks
A very individual fragrance! In the beginning pepper and lemon drown out all other fragrances, but after a little waiting it becomes milder and vanilla & co spray a very pleasant fragrance. However, I must point out that in my opinion it depends on how far the nose is from the sprayed area.

To describe it with the scents I could assign:
The scent is like a delicious lukewarm vanilla pudding on the dining table, served in a preheated wooden bowl. This is garnished with lemon slices seasoned with pepper and ginger. With some distance this food smells incredibly delicious and perfectly matched, but when you smell it directly the "spiced lemon slices" drown out the delicious "vanilla pudding". So far this is also the only fragrance in which I have such different perceptions at different distances.

Conclusion for me: A very good fragrance for warm days, but if a date is planned where you could get very close.... i wouldn't wear it for this.

Shortness of breath summer fragrance
A very interesting fragrance, in which the heart note and the cedar wood unfold quickly. It is reserved, light and not as fragrant a powerhouse as Herod, for example. Apart from the first five minutes, the fragrance also smells completely natural, with a floral, reserved freshness.

At the beginning it is also perceived very well, but....

However, the hold of this perfume on my skin is more than poor. For the first 1 - 2 hours the scent was still halfway perceptible, but sometime between the third and fourth hour I couldn't even smell it directly at the sprayed spot. For a fragrance from PdM it is incredibly bad in this category.
