the little fairy
Usually I pay very little attention to it, but every now and then there are moments when I think to myself : Where is my "sample box" ? I have the desire to test myself through fragrances ! - Especially in the current "self-quarantine" period, testing scents gives you a welcome change. So today I stumbled over a sample of "Evergreen". The start is quite pleasant - fresh, very discreetly tart and citric, softly floral and the pear appears well on my skin. Very pleasant and spring-like. Feminine and cuddly, definitely not too green. With time the fragrance gains a little more warmth. The vanilla comes out, but the character of the fragrance never drifts into the "warm" section. The vanilla merely makes the fragrance a little more creamy. In addition, the discreetly tart and citric note disappears after a few minutes on my skin - what remains is a touch of grapefruit, some pear, a delicate touch of jasmine, a petal of a rose and the vanilla base. Very close to the body and cuddly - a really beautiful and delicate spring and summer scent. Very clean, fresh and yet creamy. It should be noted, however, that this fragrance does not fill a room and it is very difficult to overdose it. You have to get very close to the person opposite to perceive it. The durability is not outstanding - after 4/5 hours I only take a very soft vanilla note, but only if you press your nose on your wrist. Apart from that, it is a really nice summer scent, which would probably be a nice companion on really hot days because of its transparency

Today Uschi lets the dolls dance
My mother is a huge fan of sweet smells. "Flowerparty by night" has long been her faithful companion in everyday life. For me it was a good hint of liquorice and sweet. At least for special occasions, she always had and still has a bottle of "Deep Red" in her cupboard. I love it too and it always reminds me very much of my mum, as this was her everyday scent during my childhood. Well, sometimes something new has to come along - and if you're someone who never has more than two perfumes, then an empty bottle means: something new has to come along! - Christmas was just around the corner and "Flowerparty by night" was only available in sample size in the bottle. So it was clear: Muddi needs a new fragrance. - I love to read magazines and as fate would have it, there was a "Scandal" sample in a magazine. Sprayed on the wrist and immediately found to be cute as a button. In other words: perfect for my mother. She was really taken with the scent. No, it was more like a blast.

I have to confess. The top notes read very nicely, but the scent on my skin is not very noticeable. "Gardenia" and "Blood Orange" promise a sparkling floral start, but from the beginning I only smell one thing: honey. Heavy, cardboard sweet and warm. "Scandal" reminds me very much of "La Vie est Belle". I wouldn't call it Dupe, but I am interested in the fragrance families. But there is a difference : "La Vie est Belle" is a very sweet fragrance, but its sweetness is quite cool to me. On some days even slightly scratchy. "Scandal" on the other hand is very warm and heavy, although I don't find this fragrance too soft either. Probably it is just a little bit too sweet for me, that's what it will be. The Sillage is strong - 1/2 splashes are enough and you pull a decent honey cloud behind you. The durability is also strong. On clothes it lasts for days, on the skin it lasts a whole day without any problems. For me personally it is a trace too much of the good, but it does not release escape reflexes. Whoever gets soft knees when sniffing "La Vie est Belle", "Black Opium" or "Sì" should try this fragrance. It fits exactly into the prey scheme. When it comes to durability and sillage, there is nothing wrong - it performs very well

The lightness of being..
... or in other words : the desperate search for a poetic sounding title that suggests that I am a particularly demanding copy.

"Boss Orange and I have a long friendship. In 2011 it was the first "real" perfume which came into my possession. Yes, drugstore fragrances can also be beautiful, but the first more expensive fragrance is always something special. It was also a gift from my grandma, who unfortunately passed away a few years ago. So I still own the bottle from back then. It is still half-full and the fragrance seems to be not yet tilted. So let's test it again. With the exception of "Deep Red", the signature fragrances from Boss (for women) all reflect the same concept for me: they're absolutely uncomplicated fragrances designed for the masses. Also "Boss Orange" falls under this scheme - after spraying it on, a sparkling fruity scent immediately rises into your nose. Bergamot and especially the apple are recognizable. Fresh, slightly synthetic and pleasantly sweet. In the further course of the fragrance, the initial effervescence slowly fades into the background - it never disappears completely, but now the orange blossom takes over, embedded in a vanilla base. The subtle effervescence ensures that the fragrance does not seem too heavy, despite the vanilla. No, "Boss Orange" is a true spring and summer scent for me. Perfect for everyday life and also for the office. The sillage is rather close to the body, so you can't overdose it that easily. Only the durability leaves something to be desired - after 5 hours you have to press your nose on your wrist to still be able to perceive some of the fragrance. On clothes it holds a little better. But in itself "Boss Orange" is a nice and uncomplicated fragrance that goes down well. Especially in my school days I was often asked what I wore that was beautiful. I also see the "Boss" fragrances as a good gift idea, especially for women who never or only rarely use perfume. Especially the original "Woman" and this one are really well suited everyday fragrances, which may not make many perfume junkies cheer, but they are a very good choice if you just want to own a perfume

You have to look on the bright side -
If you don't feel like writing an Oscar-worthy story, you can move on to the dust-dry analysis in the next paragraph. I must admit our story began in a most amusing way. I cried then, I laugh now. I was young. Okay, at almost 23, you probably still are. But I was only 18 years old then. Perfume has always been my great passion - I wanted new fragrances for every occasion. In 2015, Armani Code satin was released. I received a sample in a newspaper and was immediately blown away. This time it was serious - I was sure I had found my fragrance. I live in a small town and as I still had 2/3 of the "Türkisen" vouchers, I decided: next time we go shopping, I will get it ! - a few weeks later I made the plan become reality. It was already December. The department store was overcrowded, from everywhere it roared "Last Christmas" and also the turquoise was overcrowded. At every corner, less or overly motivated saleswomen tried to sell perfumes to helpless men for their sweethearts. The nasal overstimulation around me immediately triggered an escape reflex. Thus I steered single-mindedly towards my fragrance. "Armani Code : Satin" was in stock. I grabbed the first 50ml bottle behind the tester and paid quickly. Man, I was so happy. At home, I immediately removed the foil, opened the box and... spotted a dark blue bottle. Confusion spread, because "Satin" definitely had a red bottle. A horrible suspicion arose... isn't that my scent? The only dark blue facon that happened to be shaped in the same way and whose tester was placed right next to "Code - Satin" was... the original "Code" ! I'm not an emotional person, but after the final look at the box, which made my guess a certainty, I delivered an Oscar-winning howling performance. Someone had placed a bottle of the wrong scent behind the tester. Since the boxes also look almost the same and I could hardly guess the colour gradient through the dimmed light anyway, nothing caught my eye. Well then - what should I do now? The box was opened, the next "turquoise" is a good piece away and somehow I didn't feel like having the : "I bought the wrong scent" conversation, which probably would have sounded like an excuse. So there was only one possibility : to do a thorough test and then either accept the scent (note to myself : because it's not his fault, it was just you) or sell it.

- - my thoughts on the fragrance :
"Code" is one of the fragrances I had probably tested several times. It is, after all, a true mainstream classic. But it never remained in my memory. After the tenth test strip, you're odour-blind anyway, no matter how often you stick the prong into the coffee bean jar. In other words: he never had a fair chance. Now I had enough time for testing and yes, I wanted to like him. First of all I have to mention: I'm honest. I am nobody who can smell every nuance perfectly. I won't even pretend to know what Transylvanian swamp moss smells like - when I smell scents, I take them as a whole, close my eyes and see what journey they send my thoughts on. So, a splash of "code" on the wrist, a swab from the wrist to the shirt to get rid of the "excess" and off you go the big sniff. First thought: Okay, you can clearly see where "code - satin" got its genes. Sicily, 20 degrees, a balmy summer evening. A small restaurant right next to the sea. You hear the sound of the water, drink a nice glass of wine, enjoy the sunset and the wonderful soft warm breeze that caresses your shoulders. - that's where "Code" takes me. Immediately after spraying on, the orange blossom takes over the rudder - floral, citric and at the same time very cuddly and warm right from the start. No cuddly winter scent, not even muggy at all - instead a wonderfully harmonious combination of orange freshness, balanced by a warm base. With the tent the jasmine comes more and more to the fore. "Alien", the little jasmine bomb and me, have been a true dream team for years - so I like jasmine in perfumes. Especially as he doesn't push himself into the foreground here either - everything seems very harmonious. In addition, the fragrance also becomes a little spicier with time. We have a warm, pleasantly sweet and woody base, which perfectly embeds the floral and citric notes. No nuance comes unpleasantly to the fore. The fragrance appears very elegant and soft without being boring. The slight spiciness gives it the necessary pep. After 6/7 hours the warm and woody scent of the base remains on the skin. Not too sweet and simply a real nasal flatterer.

For me, "Code" is a fragrance that can be worn almost all year round. Only for days over 35 degrees would it probably be too heavy for me. On the other hand, warm summer nights are wonderfully enhanced by it. For freezing cold winter days I prefer "Code - Satin", because it is like "Code", but embedded in a thick and soft scarf. By the way, I finally got it in the 75ml version as a Christmas present, 2 weeks later. For temperatures below 10 degrees, I usually use it, while the original "Code" is my companion for the higher temperatures. Meanwhile I am incredibly happy to own both fragrances. They complement each other perfectly
