Alien meets Mon Guerlain
We all perceive fragrances differently. A wonderful example is (in my case) the comparison between Ariana Grande's "Cloud" and "Baccarat Rouge 540". Some say the similarity between the two scents is startling, but I hardly notice it. I'm sure other "perfumos" will feel the same way when they read this comment here.

What I have been looking forward to this day. Yesterday, a sample package reached me and I could finally test "Libre" for the first time. 2 sprays on the clothes and one on the hand - the first impression? Jasmine, amber, a rather strong sillage, rather cool- that seems very familiar to me. "Alien!". Yes, "Libre" reminds me of "Alien." However, this does not mean that it is a dupe. "Alien" is sweeter, a bit more full-bodied, and has an even stronger sillage. "Libre" smells to me more like the scent could be a flanker of the "Alien" series. The lavender note is definitely present and adds a slightly masculine touch. However, the vanilla ensures that it doesn't develop too harshly. That said, "Libre" is by no means warm or overly sweet. Despite the stronger projection, you can definitely wear it in warmer weather. Incidentally, the lavender note also evokes an association in me: "Mon Guerlain". However, apart from this one note, "Mon Guerlain" is then very different. Much sweeter and more romantic. No, "Alien" is the fragrance that exudes a comparable aura. In terms of durability, they are also comparable - they last all day. Still unsure if I need "Libre" in my collection as "Alien" gives me a similar feeling. I love them both. But I will aufjedenfall once try the Intense version, because this is to show again completely different facets of "Libre"

The mademoiselle and I-
A comparison between the different versions and the desperate attempt to find the right mademoiselle for me.

Rarely has a perfume so bewildered me as "Coco Mademoiselle". I have certainly tested the well-known EdP dozens of times in perfumery. I wanted to like it so much. I plead guilty: the bottle and the brand behind it were the main reason. I've always wanted to have one of the beautiful coco bottles in my glass case. "Coco Mademoiselle" was my greatest hope, as this fragrance is a modern classic and should delight just about every woman. At least that was my guess and my hope. In me the scent arouses above all perplexity.

Flowery, bright, slightly citric, discreetly sweet, elegant - I like all of these things very much and yes, in my opinion "Coco Mademoiselle" is the epitome of a beautiful everyday fragrance in all versions. However, there is one problem. Is it the patchouli note ? I am not sure. It's this subtle earthiness combined with the subtle sweetness. Whenever I smell this fragrance, I feel confused. On the one hand I find it really beautiful, but on the other hand I feel... uncomfortable. A feeling as if one could be sick at any moment. This feeling is very faint, yet it bothers me so much. On the one hand, I would like to wear the fragrance so much, but a tiny part of it can't wait for it to fly away and not get into my nose all the time. It is so difficult.

Now I have already tried several versions of CM. I have already described the EdP. I like the perfume/extract. I was sent a 1.5ml bottle of Chanel and I think the version is wonderful. It's very bright and elegant, and the disturbing note is at least present in this version. Nevertheless, the perfume is not suitable for me. The price is very high and apart from that, I don't like pouring bottles. I always wear perfume on my clothes. So I save the miniature for very special occasions, I could even imagine wearing it at my wedding.

Then there is the "Intense" version, which I got as a present a while ago. This one I can wear. The earthy note is also present here, but the fragrance generally seems stronger and sweeter. In this proportion I can handle it better. It's probably this contrast between the citric-floral cleanliness and the earthy base of the original that makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. Also the "Intense" is a fragrance that I don't always want to smell on me - I find it very beautiful, but I have to be in the mood for it. Also in this case I don't always get along with the patchoulin note (guess that this is the mentioned disturbing note).

Now I have ordered a bottling of the EdT's. Yes, the bottle is not as pretty as the one of the EdP's, but since I now own the "Intense" version, it doesn't matter anyway. It was all about finding a "coco mademoiselle" to win my heart. Like I said - apart from the patchouli, I really like the scent. So, now to the EdT. I don't have a sample of the normal EdP's in the house, but I have tested the scent an awful lot. The EdT seems to me a little fresher and "airier". The prelude is fresh and tangy, with the grapefruit showing to advantage. This effervescence disappears as soon as the scent has dried on the skin, it's really only the first impression directly after spraying. After the fragrance has settled and unfolded, it appears much less tangy. Still bright and clear, but much rounder. Not at all sour and fruity. A citric-floral scent that appears very creamy and clean. Well-groomed and elegant. The patchouli note is also clearly present in this version, but the EdT seems a little less sweet to me than the EdP. The vanilla note only really comes into its own after about 1 hour, especially when I press the nose on my wrist. It is discreet, but gives the fragrance a little sweetness, which I find really beautiful. The EdT concentration reminds me even more of the Extrait than the EdP version. The durability is also really good. On the skin the scent lasts for 8 hours. I tested it on my hand yesterday afternoon and even after washing my hands and showering several times, I still noticed a touch on my hand this morning. The Sillage is in solid midfield. 3/4 sprays should be enough to make the scent still be perceived about 1m around you.

All in all, I like the EdT version, because the patchoulin note in this composition doesn't bother me as much as in the EdP (if that note is the culprit at all). I will continue to test it diligently, later on in spring/summer, because I can really imagine the EdT as an everyday scent for the warmer season. But I have to be honest - I still don't trust it. Maybe this version will make me uncomfortable at some point, even though I find it very beautiful in itself - maybe "Coco Mademoiselle" is just not the right "Coco" for me. I really want to try "Coco Noir" and "Coco" again - maybe one of these fragrances will immediately make you "click".

To be a princess once
When I was a little girl, I wanted to become a Disney princess. To wear elegant dresses, to be beautiful, to marry a handsome prince, to help other people, to live in an impressive castle, to be supported by all kinds of animals in the forest, if you ever need help... - i was able to get used to the idea. Anyway, there weren't enough brunette princesses back then. They could have found a place for me there :p

What does all this have to do with that smell? When I smelled "Mon Guerlain Intense" for the first time, the lovely scent immediately catapulted me into the wonderful fairy tale world of which I always wanted to be a part. This is what a true Disney princess smells like. This fragrance wraps me in a velvety cloud of sweet lavender and butter-soft vanilla. The whole thing is accompanied by a touch of tangerine. This subtle fruitiness and freshness gives the fragrance a little more dimension. The scent is extremely subtle on my skin, but I like that. The only thing I notice is that the subtle freshness of the tangerine becomes more and more apparent towards the base and the fragrance becomes softer and creamier. Even though I associate it with fairy tales and princesses, I would by no means describe it as childlike. Rather as wonderfully soft, lovely and elegant. In my opinion it is suitable for young women as well as for more mature ladies. The sillage is rather strong, so you can really wrap yourself in a cloud. I also think that "Mon Guerlain Intense", despite its velvety texture, is not at all exhausting or heavy. I can imagine it at any time of the year, except maybe at temperatures above 25 degrees.

The durability is impeccable. On the skin, 8/9 hours without any problems, before only a delicate touch remains. On clothing even a few hours longer and a delicate touch can be felt for days (on a scarf for example). All in all I find the fragrance beautiful

Gourmand iris dream for cold days
"La Vie est Belle" - a modern classic scent. Whether you love or hate it, the success is outstanding. This fragrance has been at the top of the "charts" for years and is a real sales hit. I also own a large bottle of the original Flanker, but I don't use it too often. Why ? It is often a little too scratchy for me. Too loud and biting, a little too much sweetness and not enough depth. Too syrupy. I like the fine praline note of the base, which even slightly reminds me of popcorn. However, the overall composition sometimes seems a bit too restless. Nevertheless I like it very much when I spray it in the air and walk through the mist once. Then a sugar wadded cloud surrounds me the whole day long, which I find really beautiful. The concentration of the spray mist is the secret.

- The other fragrances of the "LVEB" series have therefore never really interested me. As I said, I like the original scent, but it is not one of my favoirites. Nevertheless, I tested "L'Absolu" in a perfumery a few years ago. In winter, December. A splash on the jacket sleeve. At that time, my sense of smell was already overwhelmed, so I hardly noticed anything and went home. I quickly forgot the smell, went to bed and fell asleep. The next day I would be greeted in the corridor by a wonderful scent. So sweet, soft and warm. I felt like I was in the middle of a Christmas market. The whole day long, the said scent kept coming up my nose and I kept wondering what was smelling so wonderfully here. At some point it "clicked" and I noticed that my jacket sleeve was the scent messenger. The next days I left the jacket hanging in the hallway, because the smell just wouldn't get weaker. For days I was allowed to listen to my family and guests, that it smells so nice in our dressing room. Only after 3/4 days the smell vanished. Immediately it was clear: I must have it - and so the "L "Absolu" version moved in with me shortly after Christmas.

For me "L'Absolu" is a perfect version of "La Vie est Belle", which has much more warmth and depth. The fragrance is much softer and rounder. I find the top note very interesting: powdery iris and dark ripe berries embedded in a sweet cotton candy cloud, with a slightly earthy patchouli. Perhaps it is precisely this note that triggers a "lipstick association" in me. Besides the really beautiful sweetness, I perceive a light lipstick note. I wouldn't describe it as extremely disturbing, but I am happy that this impression is only really present in the top note.

The heart is then dominated by the powdery iris in combination with the sweet and warm base. The details of the fragrance pyramid for this fragrance vary greatly depending on the website. Often "Praline" and "Tonka" are also given as the base. I also think that the base reminds of Tonka and chocolate. Also of roasted almonds. Christmas market in a flacon. Without any scratches, but with a lot of warmth. The Sillage is very strong. 1-2 sprays are completely sufficient to wrap yourself in a sweetish warm cloud. As with the original scent, I like it best to spray 2 sprays into the air and run through the fog once. This way the scent is shown to its best advantage and the projection is not disturbed. The durability is really outstanding. On the skin it only becomes skin-tight after 9-10 hours and only fades after 13/14 hours, on clothes it lasts for days.

All in all a really beautiful fragrance for cold winter days. I usually wear it at Christmas

The modern sweetness, newly interpreted
Yes, this fragrance joins a series of flankers like "La Vie est Belle", "Sì", "Scandal" etc. There is no doubt about it. Dior follows the current trends - very sweet fragrances with a long shelf life and strong projection continue to be very popular. In fact, I would say that this fragrance direction is the biggest trend of the last decade... and its popularity has not yet declined.

When I retested the samples in my collection a while ago, I also stumbled across a sample of this fragrance. Personally, I am a big fan of "Hypnotic Poison", so belonging to the "Poison" series immediately aroused my interest. The first test on the hand turned out rather mediocre. At that time the temperatures were much higher than today and the first thought was: sweet, fruity - ok. I was expecting a fragrance that was more likely to be created for teenagers or younger women. So to speak the most playful and judicious flanker of the family. That's what I got. Still, the scent didn't stick in my mind. Only the bitter orange, which I found rather disturbing. Everything seemed a little too sugary.

Today, at 10 degrees, test number 2 took place, a splash on the back of the hand and off we went into nature. I have to admit that I often caught myself smelling the back of my hand today. I like the smell much better than the first test. On my skin I only perceive a very discreet scent. The top note is very fruity and sweet. A candied bitter orange, that's it very well. Already after a short time the Tonka bean comes more into focus. During the first 2 hours, the ratio of bitter orange to tonka bean seems very balanced. The tonka bean forms a sweetishly warm base, while the bitter orange adds some fruitiness. However, it does not appear tangy or fresh. Rather candied.
After about 2 hours the fruitiness slowly begins to fade into the background. The sweet base is in focus, underlined by a delicate fruitiness and a hint of floral notes. However, this can only be guessed at. The fragrance then remains on the skin for hours, until after 7/8 hours, all that remains is a delicate hint of tonka bean. The durability surprises me. I was convinced that I had tested the EdP and was surprised when I realized that my sample was the EdT. The projection is also quite strong. 2 spray bursts should be enough.

The concept of "Poison Girl" is well known and has been implemented countless times before. Nevertheless, this fragrance stands out from the mass of sugar water. The combination of the candied orange and tonka bean creates a fragrance that definitely has a recognition value. I find it extremely beautiful. Sweet, warm, soft... especially the heart and the base are my favourite. I would like to test the EdP version again. In terms of durability and sillage the EdT is already stronger than several EdP's in my collection. So I do not assume that this is just a lighter version. Based on the different scent pyramids, the EdP version seems to be a different scent. Let's see which version I like better. At least I like the EdT and I'm sure that the scent, in whatever version it is, will soon be allowed to move in with me
