Unexpected Love
I was really avoiding trying this scent out despite its glowing reviews because I can't stand rich vanillas with smoky/woody undertones. Well, I was so wrong! This is wonderful.

Vanilla is certainly the star here, but the amber is strong and makes it more mature. I cannot smell the flowers per se, but I can sense a gentle soapiness and I attribute this to the lily of the valley. I don't get any citruses, what I do get instead is cherry (could it be the tonka?).

Specifically, when I smell Le Bain I get the mental image of eating a freshly baked cherry pie in a room where everything is made of amber and glowing. It sounds silly, but that's really the feeling it evokes for me! Such a special fragrance.

Performance-wise it's very respectable, strong sillage and longevity but without ever being too much. Combined with the modest pricing, it's a foolproof choice for those of you enjoying amber and vanilla
(actually for all of you - don't miss it!).

If the colour "lilac" had a scent...
...it would be Florentina. This is one of my most loved perfumes and here's why:

It is a perfect balance of floral, musky and sweet aspects. You can sense the bergamot, lavender, almond and musk in such a harmonious way that no particular note stands out. To my nose, it reads a lot like a "London Fog" beverage with lavender buds. London Fog is Earl Grey tea with almond milk, and sometimes lavender buds are added to it. It's yummy to taste and even yummier to smell.

This is definitely a "purple floral" type of scent but extremely natural-feeling, not makeup-y at all. It really makes you think of drinking aromatic tea on a rainy day, curled up with a good book and a soft blanket.

I'm very happy with its performance as well, staying strong for the entire workday on skin and for days on clothes. It gently emanates from you as you move. A colleague at work was so enthralled by the perfume, he came into my office, closed his eyes and just smelled the air around me before asking

Custardy White Floral
This is such a find! A creamy, delectable white floral with a strong performance.

It is similar to Hypnotic Poison in structure and feeling. But in my opinion, it's better. Imagine Hypnotic Poison without the heaviness, more airy and breathable. The almond and vanilla are very pronounced and the white florals come in second. The sweetness, although unyielding, is never offensive and is adequately tempered by the white floral notes.

It's a simple perfume but it is executed perfectly. I think you could safely wear it to most occasions and even the office (with a light hand). Performance is also commendable, stays true on skin for at least 8 hours and much more on clothes.

So glad with my purchase! Wish it was more readily available in Europe but I have found at least 1 European stockist.

A Bellini with a Kick
After months of contemplating a purchase, I received my bottle of Oh Ma Biche today. It's an interesting perfume and not what I was expecting. I can definitely smell the Bellini / Mimosa cocktail notes, the combo of peach-orange-champagne. It's fairly strong in the beginning and not sweet at all. So far, so good.

However, for me the pepper note is rather too strong. I can sense it throughout the fragrance's development and it tickles my nose. It's not offensive, mind you, but it's impossible to ignore and I happen to hate pepper notes. On the plus side, this renders the perfume quite unisex and mature (you wouldn't have guessed this by looking at the bottle!).

All in all, this is refreshing, zingy, slightly fruity and I must admit that I have smelled nothing like it. So, kudos for originality! The bottle is something to behold, it's extremely well made and graceful. A solid and unexpected offering from Lolita!
