Just as warm-weather scents rely on floral and citrus to brighten the senses, a wintry fragrance is deepened by spicy, woody, amber notes. Yup, you should change your fragrance between seasons. What soothes the senses in summer is far different from what calms you in winter. Spring and summer scents are more fresh, floral, aquatic, and fruity. As the weather drops and the colder months approach, you're gonna wanna swap in some richer like leather, amber, wood, and spice and shit like that. These cold-weather fragrances will warm you up—not literally but in a placebo kind of way. Same with anyone you might encounter. Look for ingredients like cedar, vetiver, patchouli, amber, cinnamon, incense, oud, and leather.
Now, if you’re the kind of guy who has a penchant for colognes, chances are you’ll have quite a collection but there’s always room for one more, right? And so do I. Absolutely, but the tough decision here lies in which one to pick. Do you go for something crisp to reflect the winter chill, or a whiff that’s warm and reminiscent of cozy nights by the fire?
