ZARA forges Rusty Metals: Legend Iron, Dark Copper, and Molten Steel

ZARA new babies have just arrived! Punctual like clockwork, ZARA is back with a new collection, this time inspired by the Rusty Metal, namely Legend Iron, Dark Copper, and Molten Steel. The three fragrances evoke the stages and shapes of metals and are built around vetiver, cedarwood, and aromatic notes that, cleverly combined together in different manners, form these exciting sensory experience. They are all in EDP concentration, which looks promising from the performances perspective.

Legend Iron

The remarkable box is colored in shades of light gray, and it opens like a drawer. Inside there is a transparent bronze-gray bottle of glass with metal cap, whose shape is identical to those ones of the Tag Collection. The scent is overall a woody-spicy, with aromatic, green, and earthy facets, it opens up with a crisp and citrus-like fruit blend followed by spicy and pungent pepper, which slowly melts with the pencil sharpener vibe of the inky vetiver. Right off the bat, Legend Iron is seemingly inspired by Lalique Encre Noire, not meaning it is an uncanny clone, yet they share the same vibe.

Dark Copper

For this scent, the box is colored in shade of green, which reminds the old copper, and the bottle is a transparent light green glass. The scent appears as a oriental-woody, with amber, fruity, fresh, and green tones, it opens with a cool, crisp, watery, and ozonic accord, followed by minty-like and green woods aspects, which yield a creamy and sweet amber tones. First thing, Dark Copper is allegedly inspired by YSL Kouros Silver, there are many stages where the two scents are alike. I remember I just smelt once SIlver and I seem there are few similarities between the two.

Molten Steel

Last but not least, the third box is colored in shades of dark gray, reminiscent of anthracite coal, and the bottle is a transparent dark gray glass. The scent is unmistakably citrus-aromatic, with amber, herbal, and spicy facets, It opens up with a boozy-mineral-zesty accord, in the heart here the herbal and aromatic tones are deep and smoky, yet in the base, the amber is blue, a bit resinous and woody. This time, Molten Steel bears more than a passing similarity to Dsquared² He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood, which I have in my wardrobe and I love. Again, ain't no an uncanny clone, it just reminds that under several aspects and memories.
