Sinless, Faultless, or Spotless?

Sinless, Faultless, or Spotless?

What’s your thinking? When you think of something pure, what adjective comes to your mind? The definition of pure is not mixed with any other elements, something that is not contaminated or a person who has no sins or is wholesome, immaculate. Karen Low has dedicated a complete line to the word Pure, and in my collection, I have got two colognes worthy of the name: Pure BlancPure Blanc and Pure Eau BlanchePure Eau Blanche. How do they smell? Are they so clean, clear, unmixed, unadorned, chaste, undefiled? Let's dive into them.

Pure Eau Blanche - Like The Dawn In The Evening

I didn't know this brand until about two years ago—the summer of 2019 when the Covid was still not in the air. I was on vacation in America, a few days in Manhattan before moving to Long Island. The scorching heat did not give respite that year on a sweltering day. I passed a discounted perfume shop right on 7th Ave. Among others like it, I immediately noticed the bottle, all from the Pure series. Without hesitation, I asked the Indian-born boy if I could try it, and he kindly made me smell both Pure Eau BlanchePure Eau Blanche and Pure BlancPure Blanc. I liked both of them, and in the uncertainty, I bought them both, perhaps for about $20 each. They share many facets; D.N.A. is the same. Still, Pure Blanc is more resinous and balmy, whereas Pure Eau Blanche is more ozonic and watery. The genre is the modern fougére, a little metallic, with touches of leathery and musky notes. I have found no reviews around and not even a shred of the olfactory pyramid, so I'll have to follow my gut. Have you seen the bottle? Total white, a cube, remarkably like my favourite Encre Noire (Eau de Toilette)Encre Noire Eau de Toilette.

Pure Blanc - The Fantastic Beauty Of Driftwood

Driftwood is a piece of wood - the remnants of trees, in whole or in part - brought to the shore by the movement of the sea or a river, the action of winds, tides or waves, or still floating on water. It is a form of marine debris or tidal wrecks. So symbolic of life by the sea, the woods carried by the water are reminiscent of summer on the water. Taking a walk, playing, breathing near the ocean, listening to and smelling the sea is all part of a blessed summer day and every moment that brings us closer to nature. Driftwood is precious because it has seen and traversed so much to reach the shore. Its origins may be a nearby tree or distant forest or an alien shipwreck. Driftwood is an essential part of virtually all natural waterscapes worldwide, including freshwater streams, rivers, lakes, and oceans. What does Pure BlancPure Blanc have to do with driftwood?

I am not clear why it is named Pure Blanc, and the packaging and bottle are golden. However, recently, I have reviewed Pure Eau Blanche, which should be a flanker of Pure Blanc. They share many facets. D.N.A. is the same. Still, Pure Blanc is more resinous, spicy, and balmy, whereas Pure Eau Blanche is more ozonic, floral, and watery. Pure Blanc has enough driftwood inside to tell a story. The main accords are marine, green, fougére, amber, and musky.
