WWW = warm feel-good little cloud
I fell in love with Santal-Basmati from Affinessence at a perfume fair. The Notes de Fond collection from Affinessence is special in that it works with high-calibre ingredients, all of which are basic notes. I.e. the fragrance hardly changes in the course of wearing, but has a beautiful and long shelf life.
Santal-Basmati is a warm, slightly woody, but at the same time incredibly light and beautiful scent due to the Basmati chord, which envelops you like in a cosy, warm cocoon.
It doesn't leave a giant silage behind, you have to get a little closer to it to enjoy it. And one thing seems particularly important to me: If you try the fragrance, take your time! Santal-Basmati leaves at the first moment the impression that he is very weak and light and would fly away immediately. But far from it: He is a faithful companion for many hours, who nestles like a soft scarf to you and in a certain way iridescessively sometimes more the sandalwood (very soft, not a bit scratchy) and sometimes more the fragrant Basmati to the surface
For me the absolute feel-good fragrance recommendation with addiction factor!

Welcome to the elephant cage - why the excitement?! ;-)
When I buy a pack of cheese in the supermarket, I'm not surprised that there's no sausage in it, but what it says on it.
On this bottle Afrika Olifant is written, that sounds like a night animal and is exactly what it contains: Elephant in pure form ;-)
Animal scents are not everyone's cup of tea, I totally understand that. Animal fragrances are actually used almost only in European countries in fragrances. In perfumes from America or Asia, you usually look for them in vain (unless the new generation of indie perfumers dares to do so). This also shows, however, that animalics must be harmoniously integrated in order to work...
I personally love animal scents and this one in particular. I always say, "It's a smell, you gotta have an ass in your pants for it. The stuff stands out and makes an impression. For tender souls and introverted people, who prefer to be left alone, it's nothing.
And yes, anyone who has ever been to the zoo in the elephant house (especially during the mating season) knows that the contents keep what the label promises...
I especially like the elephant's raw, impetuous power, which is at the same time very gentle and caring. Anyone who has ever experienced the social interaction, the care for the boys and the courtship display of elephants in the elephant enclosure will surely understand what I mean. And that's exactly what the scent reflects for me.
First he screams "Hello, here I am!" and then he wraps you in a trusting atmosphere (or should I say "cloud"?) at the same time.
This interplay of "Here I am, don't come too close to me" and the familiarity of "I am strong and there for you" describes the fragrance best for me - and that is perhaps also the reason why I feel so comfortable with it.
And no, I couldn't wear it every day. For me it is a symbol of a strong moment and I like to wear it when I feel comfortable and strong in myself.
It's worth trying ;-)

Childhood memory of lemon drops
I admit that I like a lot of fragrances from Atelier Cologne. I was all the more delighted when the Bon Voyage collection was finally available from us (a distributor from Austria had probably secured 2 years of exclusive distribution in Austria before that).
I find all the fragrances in the collection very successful, but I have a special relationship with Citron d'Érable in particular. The scent immediately reminded me of the sweet lemon candies my father had in his car for many years in a tin can. I think they were fruit candies from Kalfany - and often, when I was travelling with my father in the car as a "little plug", I asked him if I could take one of his fruit candies. As simple as it was, it was something very special for me and I still associate it with him today, although he hasn't been with us for some time.
The fragrance is fruity-sweet for me, but not so sugary that it would be unwearable for a man. The durability is, as usual from Atelier Cologne, quite remarkable for a citrus fragrance. And besides its sweet freshness, it has something warm and enveloping at the same time. For me - apart from my personal memory - an absolute feel-good scent, although I don't necessarily want to wear it every day.
