Some fragrances are such that you get the idea where the perfumer wants to go with them, but the fragrance is not there yet. Interlude, however, makes you feel like it is there already. An unapologetic oriental fragrance.

So what does it smell like? It smells like a place where sweet incense is burned and where spices are traded. It smells like a temple and a bazaar on a warm night. It is resinous and warm and full-bodied. It is stubborn and unyielding. There is no window that you can open to clear out the smell of a bazaar. No one will stop the crowd that is constantly bringing the incense to the temple to burn. The only time it will subside is when it cools down before the morning of the next day. So, if you are looking for this scent profile, here is certainly one such execution.

A mysterious and dark scent that is noticeably spicy, with a sweetness that is light and with an airy rose. There is also a feel of earthiness in it which makes it more rich and different. It also feels damp, wet and not all that dry. If I had to assign a temperament I would lean to say it is cold and introverted. The mellow sweetness gives it a bit of warmth and and makes it more pleasant. It mellows out and becomes more smooth after the opening. When my order arrived, I liked this more than some others I ordered. On the perfumer's instagram page I saw a video where he comments on it to be his favorite from his Heritage Revolution series.
