Rivals for life
Two confident noses were given the same ingredients and asked to create their own interpretation in the form of a fragrance. One "still as freshly in love as the first day" perfumer named Juliette came up with Changing Constance, the other, Stéphane, a moody bachelor who likes to hang out in British stately homes until midnight, came up with Minuit et Demi. Both follow their own philosophy. One expresses it diplomatically, the other directly and bluntly, but both mean only well by us.
To be fair, it must be said that both fragrances are "overpriced" especially in view of what they put before us summa summarum. Extrapolated to 100 ml both cost the same. In the case of CC, I can overlook this due to its outstanding-looking bottle. In my subjective and irrelevant opinion, 80-100€ less would have been more appropriate for Minuit et Demi, or at least if they offered a 50 ml variant for 150€. If necessary, add shipping and customs depending on where you reside, this fragrance gets an angry-bitter aftertaste.
One pays - as always and everywhere - of course rather for the name of the houses and their flacon creations, unless both houses have bred a "Tspinne" - that is, a tobacco weaving spider - in a joint laboratory, which secretes a slightly salty, caramel-like smelling musk as pheromones.
Changing Constance is - to put it in terms of manners - an olfactory interruptus: hardly arrived at the main character of the fragrance, the experience is already over.
In the case of Minuit et Demi, I must say that, sprayed on clothing (!), it is indeed perceptible until the next day (according to student time calculation) and the more so the deeper you press your nose into the top.
The allspice one smells out wonderfully over time and gives the spicy composition a peppery note, which harmonizes in a pleasant way with the cardamom and subsequently with the caramel and vanilla. The coffee, on the other hand, one does not perceive at all and one does not miss him, however.
Both are great scents with quirks and edges that do not hold much of sillage and projection.
CC is definitely a bit more feminine and softer than Minuit et Demi.
Who has a sensitive nose, which easily gets itchy from "pungent" smells, is better served with Changing Constance or should not spray Minuit et Demi directly on the décolleté.
Part of the disappointment of some about the fragrance is certainly based on the expectations that were stoked. On the other hand, the scarcity and limitation of this fragrance also seduces to buy.
At the end of the day, a fragrance that arouses positive emotions in one, has in any case done what right.
