So first of all:
i like to go into a Lush store and sniff. Not only at the perfumes but also like everything else there. It almost slays you but you can get used to it. What I appreciate about Lush fragrances is the mainstreaming of actually non-mainstream fragrances. And since I don't respect a lot of fragrances because of their bottle, I can put up with the simplicity of the Lush bottles.
Now for the scent. In hindsight, I'm a little annoyed that I picked this one out and not the Lord of Misrule. LoM I sniffed the other day and found the really round and still unusual. However, Lushen didn't have this one in stock at the time and I chose rentless because of that. Rentless gives me 2 images. One is a hipster event in the fall in some backyard with strings of light bulbs hanging everywhere and then vegan waffles and the odd cigarette being smoked, but only in the far back corner. The walls are rough, already peeling off in places and there is brickwork underneath. Somewhere a barrel is burning and that seems to be enough warmth for everyone. It's actually too cold to be outside but everyone seems OK with it and a lot of hot chocolate is drunk. The evening is nice and quiet, not perfect but that was never the claim maybe even deliberately not wanted.
Another image that comes to me is the homecoming. The completely imperfect coming home and still isses beautiful. I see myself in early December. It's really uncomfortable, cold and it's raining because snow would be too nice. Man comes in with cold cheeks and you can smell mama baked. Nice chocolate chip cookies. But wait what smells so burnt? Mom reports that the first 2 batches unfortunately burned in the oven. Instead, the subsequent cookies picked up some, but very little, of the burnt aroma. Also Muttis aroma sticks stand in the hallway and radiate from there into the whole house.
The fragrance has its rough edges. But even if I wear it for my own well-being, I unfortunately only had this fragrance with me when I was once over the Christmas holidays with my family in the home. There during this time, from the 1st to the 2nd Christmas Day a tent festival takes place where all meet. Those who stayed locally and also those who moved away. I wore the scent there and got only compliments. Everyone thought it was great and very tasty. On the huge tent, about 3000-4000 visitors, they also smoke, even if secretly when the security is not looking. The scent fits perfectly there. Especially since it should be equal, if not superior, to others like Eros and One Million in terms of durability and sillage. And its smell makes it stand out

I'm not a foodie (derived from gourmand), yet I think I've had the pleasure of sniffing a few scents and can also tell where there's some difference between designer and niche levels.
But I digress... ( it shall not be the last time).
My evaluation criteria are basically very simple:
Do I like it, does my better half like it, and how long does it last?
Answer: I like it. The iris note just gets me. I'm just son little sweetie sometimes. But it's not over the top. It keeps it clean and not sticky. That said, I also think I've smelled this scent somewhere before, but not as a soap or EAU der Parfum. So somewhere in everyday life but I can't remember where. Kind of in childhood days, but since the scent only came out in 2016 and I'm 30 years old, it couldn't have been this one in my childhood. So like I said, it evokes something in me. For me ne good thing and others also said to me that I smell pleasant. And pleasant is not good or horny or sexy but exactly what also the fragrance triggers in me. A pleasant feeling.
My girlfriend likes it too. Back in the days, felt about 4-5 years ago, since my girlfriend gave me the Valentino Uomo Intense. She said something about this fragrance is different and that she had not smelled so yet. She tends to prefer heavy fragrances, like patchouli, cinnamon, praline and creaminess. That's also usually the case with men's fragrances. But she wanted a night out scent for me, far away from OneMillion and co. , so not too synthetically sweet. And the Valentino seems to have grabbed her there. This fragrance also started both of our interest in fragrances. But I'm digressing again. Oh well. I get at least about 8 hours out of it. How do I know that? I put the scent on at 8 in the morning. I'm currently in a home office, but babysit his dog for a colleague for the day and then get him to come to me. Take him out in all weathers and then deliver him back to him in the evening between 4pm and 6pm. Sometimes he's not there then, but I have an apartment key. I got a message from him a few times that we must have just missed each other when he came home because he could still smell my perfume. I couldn't detect it on me at that point.
