Predator underneath
Now what is this... Initially, upon first application, the aldehydes burst out and almost made my eyes water. Yet, very promising. This could turn out either great or a disaster.
Shortly after Occur! became very distinctively animalic. Not vulgar-animalic, more a distanced, "executive-type" of animalic. Something just under the professional surface. Later on it went to a mature, lady-like scent, not romantic, but quite sophisticated.
Then poof! it was all gone, over just a couple of hours. New application, same development.
Now to the interesting point: Late afternoon I applied for the 3rd time, persistant as I am. This time it behaved quite differently. A superfast leap from the aldehydes and bergamot to the animalic part - and now, a different type of animalic. Sweeter, more gentle, and without the predator-like impression from the 2 first applications. It also dried down much sweeter and more cashmere-kitten-purr-ish than before.
I'm not sure which of these developments I like the best. That must be depending on mood probably.
The only thing that disappointed me here is the longevity. In every other aspect a great perfume.

Ladylike Discretion
Absolu seems to have 2 openings to me, or is it 2 hearts? Anyway: to me it opens fresh and sweet, but very soon after it dries on my skin, a strange "fat" and cloying note comes out. I have no idea what it is, but I've met it in various forms in other perfumes.
In Absolu this is not a problem as it's only a very brief visit of the strangler.

Absolu in its soul is very soft, very ladylike. Smooth, tender, understated, but not excactly shy. The woody undertone is extremely feminine.
Had it been sweeter, it would have been a disaster - but as it is, it's adorable.
Not quite bold and loud enough to be in my top 10, but still one I reach for when I need something discreet, elegant and warm.

Wonderful? Repulsive?
I can't work out this fragrance. Every time I wear it I get more confused.

It's definitely one of the strongest, loudest, most in-your-face perfumes I've ever encountered. It's just as loud as Knowing, and that one is hard to beat. One spray and I'm not surrounded by a cloud, but a thick fog! For hours. Amazing. It's gigantic, monstrous, just as I like them.

This is also the most rosey rose perfume I've met. When my daughters were small, they used to pick tons of petals from the wild roses to crush and soak in water to make "perfume" in marmalade jars. This is exactly the same smell - except for two things:
I find a certain bitterness in Tea Rose that is a little upsetting. It also - and this is very strange - makes me think of urine somehow. It doesn't smell like urine at all! But nevertheless it leads my thoughts there. I'm worried every time I wear it if others actually smell urine?

I keep putting it on, and I keep scrubbing it after a couple of hours. I don't know what is going on here. I like it, but I don't like it. Or do I like it?

A little island in the sun
I decided to give Dalimania its first full wearing on the first really hot day of the year. I don't find it a wintery perfume a all. Just the contrary, it's light and cheerful for a summer day if you're not in the mood for something green or citrusy.
It's listed as oriental, but to my nose it's far more on the tropical side - that is of course due to the coconut that stands out very much.
The coconut and vanilla seems to interchange all the way through the top, heart, and base (strangely enough). Other than that the peach and iris come forward the most when I wear it.
It's definitely very sweet, but not edible - the coconut makes me think of old travel agency ads with the photos of those amazing white beaches with palms and blue sky and serenity. Those that make you want to rob a bank to get to that place.
Sillage is not exactly huge. It could easily be worn in a crowded place.
My only complaint would be the longevity - about 3 hours on me, which I consider below average.

I like it very much. If only it had been louder and more persistent, I'm sure I would have loved it.

For any occasion
When I first got Due Donna I thought that it was too sweet, too pink, too girly, too fruity, too much of everything.

I've grown to like it very much. The sweetness is bright and uncloying, the huge bouquet of flowers is fresh and mood-lifting. Casual and elegant at the same time since it doesn't go overboard in all the things that I thought to begin with.

Strangely I find it to be very fruity on the top notes. No fruits are listed, but I smell lots of red fruits and berries in it . Other than that it's mostly the rose that stands out.

Since I'm not really into typical "summer scents" (read light/aquatic/transparent/weak), Due Donna is a great compromise for hot days because it is so fresh, yet strong enough for my liking. I find it warm enough to be suitable all year round.
