Daydreaming in Lockdown
Today I have made your acquaintance. With you by my side, I will feel fresh and elegant on the hottest day. Iris powdered rose greets me early from the top notes. Later, peppery patchouli joins in, allowing me to meet any challenge of the day with cool competence. This harmonious beauty inspires me to take another trip to the museum in the evening to admire works of art. She is a wonderful work of art herself. Arriving home, I feel homey in the woody outstretched arms of the base.
Thank you, you have brought so much beauty to my day!

Now back to reality:

I'd rather provoke the required safe distance with this cool beauty that makes you/woman seem a bit aloof than resort to heavy guns like an overdose of Eden by Cacharel.

Thanks to all who led me to this masterpiece and let me discover it!

Impressive
If I were to write everything I can think of about this scent, it would go beyond the scope. Although I bought it after description and not after test, he corresponds quite strongly to my ideas. The name and the bottle also fit very well to the fragrance. In my opinion, he is already exceptional and rather for special occasions.
Now to the fragrance:
Start is very sharp, something bitter sweet, which he also remains in the whole course. The sharpness subsides somewhat over time and the sultry sweetness comes through. Later, the leathery note begins to dominate more and more, embedded in other notes. At no point is it quiet or monotonous. The ingredients play well with each other the whole time. It lasts a long time on my skin, and on clothes too. 24 hours after application, it is still very noticeable. I'm not a big fan of this fragrance, but see its complexity and quality. Would already prefer to test before.

EdP after reformulation
I had tested a sample EdP 2010. At the time I thought the fragrance is more for a lady, I'm too young for it. Now the time seemed ripe to me. I did some research on different versions. I usually like EdT versions better as I like citrus scents. They come out well on my skin too. With Shalimar, I went for the "stronger tobacco". However, my olfactory memory tells me : "there was something else..."
10 years ago, I was not so far that I consciously followed the pyramid progression, but I definitely remember the top note fresher. For me, the scent starts smoky leathery, then is just leathery for a while, and only later becomes more complex and sweet. That's when my untrained nose can't tell the individual notes apart. The beginning is definitely very oriental. Something resinous-leathery-smoky-aromatic. I can't detect citrusy fresh notes at any point. Is this different with EdT? Heard that EdT lost a lot of the sparkle after reformulation, since natural bergamot is missing. Is that in the EdP also so?
I have to get used to the admittedly very nice and refined sweetness first. Super warm winter scent, perfect for the season! Lets the imagination already play and think of the incense rituals in the Orient. But very classy, no incense sticks. Fitting to the story behind it.
