citrus-fresh ambrox bomb whose "immensity" is probably only evident in the price
First of all: I'm a big fan of "Ombre Nomade | Louis Vuitton" and especially of "Imagination | Louis Vuitton". After I bit the bullet and gifted myself with the latter, the "Pacific Chill | Louis Vuitton" and the "L'Immensité | Louis Vuitton" came as a free sample. While I can still get a lot out of the "Pacific Chill | Louis Vuitton" for what it is - without wanting to wear it myself - I don't know what to do with the "L'Immensité | Louis Vuitton" at all. Fresh. Citrusy. An absolute ambrox bomb that penetrates my nose. While it still hints at a certain complexity with the nose directly on the skin, I find it simply penetrating at a distance of 10 cm or more and it actually gives me a headache. Even if the longevity and sillage are fine for me, I unfortunately don't smell anything here that would justify such a price. It's as if someone in the marketing department at LV said: "Friends, we need another mainstream Ambrox bomb in our portfolio." But I have to firmly oppose that: Nope, just don't need it. I can smell something like this - you can smell it - in any drugstore around the corner for a fraction of the price.

Grey Vetiver, is that you?
Initially, it was business as usual: a new PDM release was coming and with the announcement came the anticipation. The fragrance notes sounded fantastic, so we didn't wait long and took part in the SOUK. Waiting... Followed by childlike joy that my Postmanni is already used to, but all too often only acknowledges with a stressed, tired smile. Sprayed on. Vetiver. Shake my head. Smell again. Vetiver. Hidden somewhere, slightly citrusy notes and grapefruit that I have to work hard to detect. Otherwise, vetiver. Good vetiver. Vetiver a la "Grey Vetiver (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford" - but nothing more. Four hours later, it's still just vetiver. Now I'm standing here on the third day and I'm somewhat disappointed. It's not bad at all, it's a well-rounded fragrance, it lasts well, the sillage is good too. However, I clearly miss the typical PDM sophistication, the unique selling point, something that shouts: 250€ are justified! But I just can't find it and so I stick with "Grey Vetiver (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford" for less than half the price. A shame, really, but good for my wallet. Anyone who has created "Layton | Parfums de Marly", "Pegasus | Parfums de Marly" and "Althaïr | Parfums de Marly" can be wrong sometimes.

disappointing is the nicest thing I can think of...
...in view of the price, however, the call: "Cheeky!" is already stronger in the air than this "Absolu Aventus | Creed". But let's start from the beginning. At the start of my fragrance journey a few years ago, "Aventus | Creed" was my absolute favorite fragrance and the first niche perfume I had smelled at the time. However, as a newcomer to Creed's prices, I preferred to buy several bottlings rather than afford the bottle, so after a while I had to admit to myself that I felt that the batches were getting worse. Shelf life decreased, the smoke I loved became less and the fruity notes came to the fore. In the end, it was a love-hate relationship that inevitably led me to the dupes: First and foremost "Explorer | Montblanc" and "Club de Nuit Intense Man (Eau de Toilette) | Armaf". When the new "Absolu Aventus | Creed" was announced, I was thrilled and willing to give Creed another chance. With anticipation of the first spray, I was somewhat confused yesterday, and rather disappointed with the second this morning. Aventus DNA? Yes, a good fresh opening for about 5 minutes. After that, the freshness fades into the background and the fragrance becomes more fruity and warmer - not bad by any means, but nothing special. Reminds me - like some others - very strongly of "Sauvage Elixir | Dior" and also of two other blue representatives that cost a fraction of this fragrance. I would rate the sillage as barely there, not worthy of a niche fragrance. The longevity, on the other hand, was good for me. All in all, not a bad fragrance, but certainly not a niche fragrance and also not one that would justify a price of 4€/ml - for me, Creed has missed the chance to create a great fragrance here and has probably let the creative work flow into the pricing. The "Aventus | Creed" fanboys are welcome to stone me for this review, but let me tell you: you don't have to put up with everything from Creed.

sweet. warm. delicious - I'm already annoyed by how good you are
There it is now, the next Le Male. After many attempts disappointed and only the "Le Mâle Le Parfum | Jean Paul Gaultier" represented for me again a worthy descendant, the expectation here was not particularly large. But lo and behold: Jean Paul Gaultier can still ! And how they can! Quite strong start with the cherished LeMale DNA of my youth, but again somewhat gourmandiger and sweeter embedded than in the "Le Mâle Le Parfum | Jean Paul Gaultier" . In the course, this gives way for me a step back and gives the tonka bean even more space, which this fragrance but also really able to fill: Sillage and durability are outstanding! For my taste still in frame, without becoming intrusive. Nevertheless, it leads me to my probably only point of criticism: Because you are so good that I'm already annoyed to smell you in half a year on every corner!

spicy wood but unfortunately just as dull
Personally, I find the Brooklyn Soap Company a little difficult to deal with. Sure, competition stimulates the market, but I'm generally not a fan of newcomers who want to position themselves in niche markets with a bang only to deliver mediocrity again. Unfortunately, I feel the same way about this perfume. The fragrance itself is good, but the WoW effect is missing. Strong woody and spicy-peppery notes, the composition fits and the fragrance is well-rounded. But only the fragrance, because the sillage and the durability are below average, which would be fine for an eau de toilette, but not enough for an eau de parfum with corresponding pricing. In the end, you get what it says on the tin: Wood. Unfortunately, the fragrance remains just as dull over the course of the day, because I can't perceive any change at all until it disappears after 3-4 hours.
