Which scents are perceived the most ?
If I am completely honest, Herod is a crass orchestra of many different impressive scents.
At the beginning cinnamon and pepper come through very strongly and you can already see in which direction winter is heading here! After the cinnamon and pepper have calmed down a bit, the soft sweet base comes out. Consisting of vanilla, woods and the high-quality tobacco, it provides a warm and really complex scent. Don't be put off by the incense, no it doesn't smell like a service to me at all and I personally can only guess the incense if I concentrate on it.

Herod is just at the beginning a powerful and room filling fragrance, a small explosion. After the bang you are rewarded with a sweet oriental elegance. He can be worn with everything in the cold seasons, I personally only take hold of him when I am nicely dressed.
But it is suitable for everyday use and is very popular, which can be seen especially in the rating here on Parfumo. Nevertheless, it is far away from all the mainstream winter scents that you can sniff at the blue D.
Herod is a STALLION! through and through, an absolute perfume art

For one beginner in perfume, it might be too much of a good thing at first. Give it time, wear it a few times on colder windy and rainy days and you will discover the magic of Herod.

I don't need to say too much about the bottle. ...you could hit someone with the cap alone. Who needs weapons when you've got a Herod flask? I find the packaging of PdM very simple but to the point, because it reminds me of a pinstripe suit. On the packaging you can already see which league this is in - Champions League!

Herod is not in any fragrance for me, he is very high up in the cold year scents, all designers can leave their horses in the stable, because nobody can get near such a powerful steed like Herod!

The Sillage as already mentioned above is a PUNCH, the durability is a tireless horse lung. 14h are no problem for me on my skin.
The next morning, breathe on your wrist and the steed is ready to go into battle with you. Herod does not leave his knight's side and even after his fall he stands on the bad field and spreads devastating hoof prints!

La Nuit de L'homme, for some it is only a hyped scent, for me it is my first great love and the beginning of a never ending story, an indescribable passion.

This was the beginning of EVERYTHING! It is the cornerstone of my passion for fragrances.

I still remember when I smelled him for the first time at my father, approx. 16 I was at this time. Oh God, I was overwhelmed! this lavender, the cardamom, a sexy, complex, sweet mysterious scent got into my nose. A 2009 bottle.

For me it was immediately clear, on my next date I'm going to look for the bottle in my parents bedroom.

And so it happened, too. I can remember the countless times I reached for the wonderful bottle to fragrance myself beautifully before I left the house. My date became my girlfriend and with certainty she still associates this fragrance with me today.

When I was 18, I finally bought my own bottle and got a backup bottle of the 2012 collector edition. It was still one of my favorite scents, but the magic somehow diminished with the years.
I never told my father how well he smelled and how much I like his scent. To make up for this, I gave him my full Collector Edition a year ago, because I knew that his 2009 is now empty and he did not buy the new version due to reformulations.
For me this gesture was a way to thank him, because for me personally it was not just a gift. I thanked him from the bottom of my heart and brought him back a piece of "us" and praised him at that moment for his excellent taste.

He doesn't know what this gesture meant to me, one day I might tell him.

La Nuit you are a masterpiece for me like no other fragrance! What you once were is a life story for me, you embody moments that I will take with me to my grave.
This may sound crazy but of all the scents I will take this one to my grave!

To the fragrance:

Smells 95% like ADG. This one is a bit pepperier and almost more adult I'd say. Durability and Sillage are on my skin even slightly better than the original.

Occasions/events:

Absolutely everyday scent. An evergreen just in the warm season. No winter scent for me, but it also cuts well through the cold and lets longing for summer rise.
A swiss pocket knife! especially for office work

Compliments:

Well, I think it's natural that an ADG offshoot that is well done is compliments and draws attention to itself..
Therefore guaranteed! Especially among younger women.

With the original Eros I never got really warm.
But the flame generates at least some sparks.

The DNA of the original is definitely recognizable and both scents move close together in the course.

It is a good designer fragrance, which is very popular with the younger ones. But at the same time it is again "only" a designer fragrance without being really unique.
After all, he is long lasting and by and large worth his money.
For me personally it is just too typical and absolutely no reinvention.

Those who already have Eros do not necessarily need to have it in their collection.
