Make U Happy :)
Actually I wanted to choose another title, namely "Forget the scent, but read the commi". But "Make U Happy" actually means the same thing. And if you're not a heavy metal fan, I can probably do that too ;-)

??? What do you want?

Don't worry, here's the description of the fragrance ... but there's a little story to it:

Every year in November, the Leverkusen Jazz Days take place, although other events are also served, such as a reggae or flamenco evening. But at the latest at the "Funky Night" Fresh21 is standing vertically and first at the box office. Not only because I was/am a funk bass player myself, but also because I like to move to it ... And now it's time again, but unfortunately there is no funky band this time. That's why I like to remember last year:

Shortly before the concert Trudie Sport arrived at my place, at that time still under the delusion of having to buy everything that was fresh&sport-wise not nailed down ;) Although I was still thinking whether I should really dare to make this blind buy already, but watt solls, 'n bisschen Risiko is' always ...

The first band = worst sound of a dumbass, as if the sound engineer knew no life in front of the cave. The next act was better, but well ... But then it started, with Candy Dulfer: Finally top funky music, the sweat pores were warm and Trudie Sport started working. My first association: "drugstore to the power of 15 ... but in good". Because the main note here is the lemon grass, which is built into so many Cheapies. In addition a Quitsch lime, the "sweet orange" and a little jasmine. Amber is fortunately not perceptible and wouldn't really have anything to look for in a sports fragrance.

Since I sprayed Trudie on the chest area and he now increasingly transferred to my shirt, I soon noticed that he has powerful power. Maybe too powerful? Again and again a look to the right, a look to the left, but my people full of groove as if they didn't notice anything. But I soon felt like Linus from the Peanuts, only without a sniffer cloth, but with the same cloud around - but with clean-bear freshness. Because I felt as it were a motivating energetic effect, as if "...gives wings" was not yet invented :)

And then Seven came along. Only the crystal clear, hard sound of his band went into the stilts, and the whole hall stepped two hours while the charismatic Frohmotoriker delivered - just like my Spray-Duracell :) That's why his addition "Sport" is well deserved, even if I see him more as an intensive deodorant, because his fragrance development relies too monosyllabically on antiperspirant - but he can! With a shelf life of 7-8 hours you could spend the whole day in the gym, but because of the slightly flowery touch you would have to dose sparingly. Since I'm rather rare there and also not every day at concerts, he was allowed to move on recently ...

But this is not the end for you, because I still have my promise to keep. So listen (preferably loudly:) to Seven, who not only has the ingenious live atmosphere, but (after a few minutes) also 'something to smile about':

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15seArfRoYY

And whoever has really grooved in the last third and slowly gets an idea of my attitude to life, maybe he will watch the second video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkSaGTF1fAI

Because if there's one thing I like to do, it's

Make U Happy :)

No freshy can get past this one :)
Many a comment is overlong, although the performance of the fragrance is rather entertaining. The latter also applies to Higher, but he smells damn good doing it:) So what to do? How about this?

Please tick your assessment:

[ ] Of the approximately 500 fragrances that Fresh21 has had under the nose so far, Diors Higher has the worst durability of all.

[ ] There's a lot to Almond Mouse's commi-title "Ladies, lock up your men and throw away the keys!".

[ ] Fresh21's current scent preference for "fresh spiced fragrances, atmospheric neon, Martian fine dust and alien green" coincides with Higher.

Resolution: There is something to all statements, but only partially. Drum would be correct in each case only a half cross, however that would look;)

Here are the details:

[1] On durability: at the price-performance ratio Diors Higher does not exactly cover itself with glory, but it is also not the worst case ... Be that as it may, for the positive twist I come back at the end again to its PLV :)

[2] On the effect on women: Include is futile, the fragrance has a built-in skin magnetism ;-)

[3] On the fragrance itself: Yep, "Fresh flavored fragrances" applies 100%, but on the rest of my I like preferences insisted my alter ego (otherwise it would have been trouble again, preferably at 2:30 at night, as cunning as that is;)

My conclusion:

Higher has become my signature fragrance. A very attractive elixir that strikes a perfect balance between fruity pear/citrus freshness and a sharpened spiciness. This creates a fine transparency in the fragrance while being feathery, yet demanding at the same time: its freshness is sharp, its spiciness is fresh. The basil is perceptible, especially in the first half hour, but not at all too intense, exactly the right amount. The other spice could be a little pepper, cardamom or nutmeg, plus the listed rosemary. In addition, after about 1.5 hours, the cypress also contributes to the freshness kick. And the musk? It only cushions it a little in the base in the last third ... of a total of about 4 hours on my skin. Because then the fun is already over. More is not in the Higher for me ... But does it have to?

No, because for the first time it is me piepegal how long a fragrance projects, so good smells this one. Higher is like the best friend, whose short but motivating fresh presence I appreciate above all. And if I want more than a short visit, then I only need to wear suitable shirts, on (or under) which this fragrance yet holds about 8 hours!

Whether or not, what ultimately matters is that Diors Higher is the first fragrance that realizes my scent preference 1:1. And even if its short-lived freshness kick has a lousy PLV, I would want to claim (at least for a test)

at the comes no Freshy past :)

Most Sexy Perfume !
No, I am not a student of Jeremy, but sometimes such a title must be allowed ;-) Here is the story:

As a victim ;) of my somewhat one-sided smell preference for fruity-fresh smells I felt a few months ago the desire to make a trip into other smells again. Iris has never been my case in men's perfumes before, but maybe a citrus-fresh fragrance on a slightly powdery basis would be something for me.

Said done, ... first Parfumo decliniert and finally stuck with the Pradas, beside Dior yes the reference for mainstream powder.

Unfortunately, the Dior Homme Sport failed because of a slight gourmand tendency and too little powder, and Prada's L'Homme Water Splash was too squishy for me (Neroli is not citric but rather flowery for me). Only the "L'Homme L'Eau" by Prada remained, which I liked better, but was a bit too thin, pointed and not round enough. Slightly frustrated, I soon realized that the powder-citrus mix is perhaps only a wishful thinking, but can never function properly.

In spite of that I thought "just powder, everybody is so enthusiastic about it, why not me?" So Pradas L'Homme tested again ... Result: 3-4 hours of a wonderful fragrance, but then (as with so many) Amber prevails again and makes it too sweet, too penetrating and annoying for me. Even more frustrated ;) I thought "now more than ever" and fogged myself completely with "Dior Homme". But -help- that was of course far too much of a (powder)good thing for a freshness fan like me. But wait a minute, there was a great note in there, in this thing. She had something, what was that? Anyway, it went down in the powder cloud and I forgot the scent soon ...

A week later, same shelf, similar thought "but they can be in powder, because MUST be something for me" ... and then it happened: I spotted the flacon of the Dior Homme Eau for Men and was instantly enchanted. Not only because this one is one of the most beautiful I know, but also because the fragrance itself immediately captivated me. What I smelled was so outrageously good that for the next two hours I stuck it to my wrist like a magnet.

I then quickly found out that it must be the Kakau, which here, just like in Dior Homme, subtly contributes its mild aroma, although it is not to be found in the fragrance pyramid. And because the iris is still reserved at first, this results in an almost beguiling melange, in harmony with the slightly citric notes, to accommodate Floyd's favourite word, hehe. PhilipFrag also writes enthusiastically in his commique "the best opening I have ever smelled with a perfume" and titles it "The best top note".

100% approval, and the very best thing about it: it lasts about 2 hours! But I would go one step further: Dior Homme Eau for Men is the most sexy perfume I know (not to create "sexiest" and to offer our dear treasure hunter a steep lead in Anglicism, haha).

Ok, fun aside, both language gags are at my expense, but that would have meant a malus of scent - at least for me. Unfortunately, it doesn't just end in the cedar, which I only perceive to a limited extent anyway, but much more in amber, which is not exactly one of my favourites. Fortunately, however, the slight freshness of the Eau for Men holds against it and remains until the end. Nevertheless, once again Amber plays along and pulls the scent down a bit, by now also becoming a bit too sweet-woody, I think. Everything is a matter of taste, and for amber fans perhaps even a treat:)

No Amber in it, you mean? I thought so too, but here is the official description of the fragrance on the Dior page "The sparkling base note with a woody amber accent spreads a strong, intense fragrance", which I would like to recommend to the ladies not least because of that.

Anyway, I'm sticking with it. Diors Eau for Men is my

Once (brain) air, please!
Sour or acidified is a facet that usually doesn't suit me at all, even though I wouldn't call myself a cute little fellow ;-) But a few months ago I suddenly got a real appetite for fragrances. This could be due to my favourite fragrance, L'Homme Ultime, which after a few hours gives off a fine-sour vetiver that smells incredibly good (together with a slight cedar smoke).

And after the Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver was a little too angry for me, I actually began to move towards the barbershop, which is normally not one of my preferences - apart from the fact that there is not much left to barb my bald head anyway :-) But I knew, there's some acid there, and there must be something on them, even if the corresponding scents are often called oldschool.

So I picked seven candidates, knowing that there was far more of this species. At the same time I hoped that the chosen ones were not too spicy ... Well then:

In my comparison test, I found that Paco Rabanne pour Homme, which in itself was a great success, thinned out too much after a few hours, but the Aramis was too spicy and intense for me, only topped by Tabac Original. Jaguar for Men was great but still not very convincing, Azzaro pour Homme was the most well-balanced, but still too spicy, and then came Rive Gauche from YSL, whose journey after the first sensational 30 minutes leads about 2 hours through a lavender field and then flows into a mild oldschooler - very valuable and simply great! And when I was about to catch this fine scent, one last one came on the scene, the Cerruti 1881pour Homme.

Maybe I'll get the Rive Gauche too, but at first I chose the Italian. Because as already Netlab72 remarks "it is a fresh green fragrance" and I would like to add "that is not too spicy by sage, basil & Co." And so I feel it is also more "classic" than "oldschool", which only corresponds to my personal definition. Because by citrus, coniferous wood and oak moss this 1881 reminds quite of smells of the 70/80s, but for lack of strong spice as for example Muskatellersalbei and other kitchen favorites it looks somewhat "more modern" to me than the others.

Its opening convinces with an acidic bergamot (>30%) and a violent fresh green cypress (>50%), which together produce a decent Sillage, which seems almost over-fresh ... One immediately notices that this Cerruti is a fragrance to wake up and align. If you want to ground yourself in between, spray it on and let yourself be captivated by its masculine vintage aura. Perhaps the other head and heart notes also contribute a little to this, but at the latest after three quarters of an hour you are really aired by the herbaceous and woodsy freshness of the fragrance and you go strengthened and motivated to the next actions :)

Even though the 1881 pH still smells "classic" in its rather linear course, the patch now slightly cushions the fragrance, which after approx. 2 hours also has a slightly less acidic effect, but continues to be mainly in coniferous wood. Here he meets strong light pines rooted in a hint of sandalwood, surrounded by soft moss. This makes it so well balanced from hour 3 that you can slowly dare to get close to the fair femininity again, should it be rather delicate ;-)

Apropos sillage and reformulation: the fragrance does not have the strongest projection after 2-3 hours, but it is always enough for half an arm's length ... And if you even think this Cerruti is weak-chested, please apply it exactly there, namely in the chest area: 2-3 splashes on a shirt are enough, and you have the first three quarters of an hour guaranteed a lot of joy in him! And on textile he then loosely holds out an office day, apart from going home of course :)

Conclusion: For me, Cerrutis Saubermann is a timeless classic, and therefore a hit. Because it combines three things: Due to its lack of kitchen spices, it suits me better than most oldschool or barbershop fragrances. In addition, the strong green, crystal clear freshness from acidified coniferous wood is just the right thing to air the brain, so that "I think I'm standing in the woods" finally finds its true meaning :) And last but not least, this fragrance gains more than 40% in durability on textiles.

Finally, a word about the bottle, which I really like. Because next to a beautifully embossed Frosted Glass, its front sides are slanted, so that it lies particularly well in the hand when grabbing. One likes to touch him and always knows; now it gets really bitter-fresh, because with Cerrutis 1881 pour Homme one thing is certain to succeed:

once (brain) aerate, please :)

Not for warmists
... like me ;-) And because it is so embarrassing, I'll try to make it short:

As a fan of strong fresh fragrances, this vetiver from Hermes should actually be just right for me. So tested a few times, although not found optimal, but ultimately bought. Also because I found others such as Guerlains Vetiver as too soft and I was therefore specifically looking for more expressive representatives of this direction. And just such I found at Hermes.

But now the BUT: because I should perhaps have paid more attention to the "Intense". Here are the details:

Hermes Vetiver opens with a powerful bergamot, which does not come across pointed, but deep, round, full and acidic - just great. But right from the start, with about 50%, there is a woody green note that provides a dry counterpoint to its striking freshness, but complements it quite well. Funnily enough, for about 10 minutes, the flint known from Terre d'Hermès can also be perceived, but only skin-deep and then only homeopathically ... Unfortunately, the tart citrus soon recedes to about half, while the vetiver increasingly gains the upper hand. What you smell from the second hour, is a fresh citrus interwoven dry dark green wood, which creates a very linear course with a neat pinch of pepper.

And with power. Because Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver radiates siginfikant, for about 8 hours. At the same time, I felt him best with 3-4 spritzes on the chest, which provides him with the powerful sillage and persistent durability when going over to the shirt. Should you have hair in this area, every single one of them straightens up and also you inevitably takes a bolt upright posture;)

And that's actually how you wish a fragrance to be, isn't it? Already, but for me this direction is just too masculine. I consider it a top fragrance when it should go into a sour, strong cool green woodiness and you are not looking for anything in the direction of barbershop. But although I did not really want to admit it and this vetiver would actually have to fit quite well to me, I could not make friends over the months but so right with him, because he was simply too concise, striking and dominant to me.

For all those who want to emphasize their masculinity may be the tart Terre d'Hermès Eau Intense Vétiver a recommendation, but I must somehow manage otherwise;) Because that is guaranteed

nothing for warm shower ...

**

Edit Feb21 : Apparently I am now mature enough for this fragrance, after the morning 12° degree shower for my three-month Ironman training was still the most relaxing exercise.... (o.k. that was a lie;)

But either my scent preference has evolved after 1.5 years more in the direction of tartness, and / or this fragrance has become a little more pleasing. In fact, it seems to me now no longer quite so harsh, bitter and repellent austere, but optimally balanced (even the bergamot holds out longer in my batch). In short: This Hermes is now in my Top10 ascended and an unconditional recommendation for masculine perfumes.

Because as a vetiver fragrance, it is clearly different from the usual representatives of this direction: it is crystal clear, citrusy-peppery and dark green woody fresh!
