once again in search of something completely different... (nice old porcelain, nice costume jewellery) my step stops at a stand where in a corner a group of richly "battered" fragrances are standing.
A conversation with the owner of the stand emerges, who reveals herself to be a passionate lover of "old" fragrances. Finally, I impulsively shout "welcome to the club" and am happy about the nice contact and exchange of experiences with a kindred spirit.
Suddenly she picks one out of the already repackaged fragrance flacons: azuree, an "old" fragrance. Together with a few other scents it becomes my prey, which I proudly carry home.
Once there, I study the comments and test the fragrance and am now sure I own the vintage version.
A classic chypre and the leather note is absolutely penetrating.
Maybe I should offer a bottling to all those who mourn this version.

Years ago, during a stay in hospital, my roommate, when asked, told me about her fragrance, which was engraved in my memory: L Ombre dans l Eau.
Now I received with a purchase over the Souk a sample.
The first impression: oops, it is fresh and green (almost frightening)! But it doesn't resemble in any way any fragrance that has been one of my favourites so far.
But the screaming green gives way quickly and then something remains that someone here once called "Weleda wild rose aura"
And maybe that is exactly what fascinates me about this fragrance. The contrasts, the extraordinary and the quietly in secret blooming rose.
Finally, the ultimate test; the whole office day every now and then carefully patted on the forearm. Should I make an investment in a fragrance that might turn out to be an expensive mistake?
And again - first green and fresh but without the usual eau de cologne or citrus hints. And where I miss the strength and durability, in reality the wild (?) - rose cuddles on my arm and accompanies me through the day
Already in the afternoon of this day my decision is made and the joy about the promise of my souk partner to send me the scent as soon as possible reconciles me with all the adversities of the day.

At some point I imagined that I had to treat myself to something very special for my birthday - a Guerlin - Samsara.
Researched, ordered the red bottle from the Internet dealer, he delivers the modern version, a short sprayer, disappointment spreads, the goods go back.
My frustration ends up in the forum and I receive many helpful answers by return of post.
On Ebay someone finds a (vintage?) version eau de toilette for me. But I'm not too enthusiastic about it - it goes on wandering over the souk to a real lover (thanks for that!).
A very old miniature from Ebay is pretty, but contains rather coloured water, there is nothing to smell anymore.
I make one last attempt, order the eau de parfum of the modern version from the cheapest mail order company and start testing this time without great expectations.
The nice SabriNoir also sent me a bottle of her Extrait as a birthday present, which I am keeping and have tested quite timidly so far.
So: the way it looks like I can live with the modern "bee flacon".
My initial disappointment certainly stems from the fact that samsara is in an exclusive and high-priced circle and I had expected a "bomb" similar to my 80s sweetheart.
Oh, no, no, no, no Suddenly I realize that I want her like that and not otherwise. Blooming in secret, unobtrusive, classic, on many occasions (not only to the opera but even daily to the office depending on the dosage).
Nobody screams here, pushes themselves into the foreground. As a (deterrent) comparison I always have my sister-in-law, who throws herself at me in waves of Diva or Paloma Picasso at family parties.
With Samsara I suddenly have the scent for the many special occasions - the important job interview, where I want to strengthen my self-confidence - the company party in the circle of my predominantly male colleagues (if I want to go beyond the "freshly showered image").
And I read the previous comments and can absolutely agree with them - that's exactly how I feel about this fragrance. I found it late, but why should it not be forever?

An ensemble of eau de toilette with matching deodorant has long been in my collection. Only recently I dared to do the practical test with a spray shot on my wrist early in the morning, which caused me to be nauseous for most of the morning. Whether this is due to my weak, empty stomach or the somewhat too sweet smell - it does not matter. The consequence was quite simply that I offered it to my daughter, who once again proved to be a grateful customer. In this way one or the other (sweet?) false purchase will surely change hands.

I've wanted to tell my story about this fragrance for a long time: it must actually have been in the year it was re-released (1988). During one of my forays through my favourite perfumeries I was given a sample tube as an encore. Exactly this fell from my bedroom chest of drawers in the first apartment occupied by myself and my newly wed husband. On the tiled floor it broke immediately of course, but this mad smell filled the room for days and enchanted me totally. Finally I dragged my poor freshly in love and accordingly patient man through all the perfumeries of the big city in search of exactly this fragrance, but in a bottle "to pour", because I intended to add smaller fillings as a pocket sprayer. It is still slumbering in my treasure chest, my other treasure has just today again bravely accompanied me on the hunt for another "game" (miniatures offered by HERMES in the classified ads of our daily newspaper).
Quelques Fleurs, just launched as a fragrance, brings back countless memories. I feel like I'm immersed in an ocean of flowers. And all this with only a swab on the wrist.
If I still find it in the morning, that's great for my dry skin
Every day for the office it seems too violent, but at family gatherings in summer it will certainly be used again.
