The spearhead of coffee fragrances!
Long, long have I searched. Searched for an authentic coffee scent. Not one that smells like cappuccino or latte macchiato or one that gets a floral note from rose. I tested so many but never got what I was looking for. The tart elegance that hits your nose when you open a new packet of espresso beans.

After a few reviews here on Parfumo, I then decided to do a blind buy of "Follow". With great expectations, I press on the spray head. FINALLY!
You can't get more coffee than this. Dark, tart, aromatic, almost dry as dust, the opening hits you around the ears with a bag of freshly roasted coffee beans. No sugar far and wide. The milk is also empty?! This is that espresso that one cup in the morning is enough to make you stand upright in bed. It smells so authentically of coffee that you don't perceive the scent as perfume. It's more like you're working in a roastery and after 8 hours of working the roasting drum, the resulting "haze" has permeated every fiber of your clothing.

Does it stay that way? No. I think that would be with a shelf life of at least 6-8 hours also just too much of a good thing. In the drydown, the scent changes to a softer, no longer quite so strong "Wiener-Melagne" (which is sweetened yes mostly with honey --> Amber.) So now milk and sugar after all? Yes! But only subtly. A perfect balance that keeps the coffee bean in focus but is soft enough not to cause "linear annoyance" after 6-8 hours. In the last part of the drydown it goes very slightly in the direction of tiramisu, which is not so bad, because no one drinks coffee that late anymore, right?

Conclusion: Who loves coffee and is looking for an authentic, genuine coffee scent - who does not mind NOT to smell like perfume but like a stimulant, which comes to "Folllow by Kerosene" not past.
Is also perfect for layering with quite sweet fragrances like "Tobacco Vanilla" by TF or even "Layton Exclusif" by PDM, which already has a slight coffee note. after that, the handmade flacons with the brass label are an absolute eye-catcher in any collection. Invigorating "pick-me-up" also for people with caffeine intolerance. :-)

The "rich" brother of D&G light Blue intense.
Because I was still looking for a nice summer fragrance, I have ordered a filling of "Renaissance". Since most summer fragrances but tend in a fairly similar direction and because of the fragrance description I have now expected no absolutely unique DNA.

So I sprayed it on and IMMEDIATELY I had to think of the good old D&G "Light Blue intense", which I also already have in my collection. Definitely comes out in the opening a very nice and absolutely authentic mint, which gives it a nice start. Like many other users here, I also had to think of Mojito. It's a really nice scent that you can definitely notice the usual Xerjoff quality. It really smells extremely natural and not as synthetic or aquatic as its "little blue brother" but does that justify paying almost four times the price? Maybe. But for me personally, the two are too similar for me to be willing to pay that much more money for the full Falcon. It's also a bit too linear for that. In the drydown the citric does settle down a bit and it softens up a bit but overall Renaissance doesn't undergo a great transformation. In fact, I'd almost say that "untrained" noses wouldn't notice much difference between the two fellows. The mint is really noticeable at the beginning, but fades into the background a bit as it progresses. Instead, patchouli and amber come a little more to the front. But that really only if you smell close to the skin.

H/S is really good for a "freshie".

All in all, a really nice, fresh and pleasing summer fragrance but definitely not a "must have" in my opinion. Would I buy the fragrance? Absolutely! For the price? Unfortunately, no.

Perfume art on another level
What can I say? After I heard about the fragrance for the first time, I had an image in my head. A picture of what Andy Tauer is trying to describe with this composition and of the fragrance itself. I thought to myself, if it smells like it does in my head, this will probably be my new fave in my collection.

So then I ordered a sample, sprayed it on and.... It was exactly what I had in my head to right - only 100 times better. It may sound vllt. strange but every time I wear the fragrance, I get almost goosebumps, because he is so INCREDIBLY good. In my opinion, he fits into every season and every occasion (except vllt. to the sport).

About the fragrance description, I guess you don't have to say too much. The name actually says everything you need to know. He is DUST DRY, almost mineral. But at the same time incredibly spicy and woody. But in an absolutely unobtrusive way.

I would almost compare the scent to an oriental sauna infusion. When the dry, hot air mixes with the aromas of the infusion, the stones and the wood. Simply a masterpiece and probably the only scent in my collection so far to rival Alexandria II. Even people for whom perfume has no special meaning react "taken" to this fragrance.

H/S is good but not outstanding.

Price/performance is in my opinion. I just do not know anything comparable.
