The opening of this fragrance resembles Tom Ford's Ombre Leather, only weaker, dryer and less sweet. A few minutes after the opening, something medicinal comes to me and this, together with the leather tones, makes me feel like I'm at the local shoemaker. The fragrance is not unpleasant, but there is nothing new. Perhaps they used Godolphin as inspiration to develop his superior Tom Ford counterpart?. What also disappoints me is that the fragrance undergoes little development. After 1 hour it’s leather, leather and… leather. And that's quite an achievement, but too boring for me. Also the durability (3 hours on my skin) and sillage are slightly disappointing and don’t do justice to the color of the bottle. Not gold, but rather bronze (barely). Sorry.

After testing a few times, I decided to buy a "bottiglia di Nio". I have some citrus scents for the warmer days, but Nio stands out anyway. Where Acqua Viva (Profumum) is a nuclear "straight on" citrus, Nio comes across as more sophisticated. That doesn't mean the opening of this fragrance isn't a stunner. Fresh, green, crackling... I've never smelled it "like this" before. With many Neroli fragrances I quickly smell a bitter, slightly synthetic tone. Nio doesn't have this and that is well done. After an hour or two nio calms down and becomes a bit more spicy. Not much change occurs, the wood tones stay away for me. It is a pity that after about 4 hours Nio leaves for Italy again. For the price, the gentleman could have stayed another three hours.
