At least on me it is very subtle for a noir fragrance, but quite nice, round and pleasing. I think I will be wearing it more as a daytime fragrance than an evening fragrance, unless I want to wear something in the evening with less oompf than usual. If that frag were just a little bit more potent, I would be in heaven. It is however still a real beauty and a worthy addition to my collection.

On me it smells more like pears than peaches. Almost like the dessert pear Helene with a boozy touch to it - and that's why I always loved it so much. It is super sweet, but in a very elegant and sophisticated way. Even with its sweetness it doesn't have a young girl feel to it. It is very classy, yet playful. Still a dream in a bottle.

It is almost mind boggling how our noses, body chemistries and our perceptions work. I guess it is a good thing that we perceive fragrances differently, otherwise we would all flock to the same fragrances, and how boring would that be!?

So I gave Sultane a lot of tries, but we just can't become friends. It is way too spicy for me. Not a single, lovely feminine note arises here for me. Such a pretty bottle, such lovely glitter, but that's where the femininity stops for me. On me it could not even pass as a unisex juice, it is really a tomboy fragrance. I tried to pass it on to my boyfriend, and he admits it is quite masculine, but he isn't thrilled to wear glitter. So now I gifted it to my dear colleague, who exclaimed with glee: "Oh, nice and spicy." I am glad she loves it and gets her use out of it.

Heaven, I'm in heaven. And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak... Seriously, this is awesome. I was expecting something more masculine (I bought it as a blind buy - I love the thrill of it, and very rarely do I get disappointed based on the reviews here.) And this lady, yes, I know, it supposed to fit as a unisex fragrance, I read it, but this lady is pure, dark, mysterious femininity of the finest grade. Her sister Velvet Orchid is one of my favorites as well. When it comes to Black Orchid and Velvet Orchid, for me this is almost a tie with the scale just tipping slightly in favor for Velvet Orchid. We should have a top 10 list, there are just way too many fragrances I absolutely adore. Black Orchid is one of them that belongs into my top 10 list

Adoration comes to mind when experiencing this magical lady. She is so smooth and round. Velvet Orchid is the perfect name for her, even though I think she is more velvety than flowery. I can't keep my nose off my wrists when I am wearing her. She belonged to my top 5 fragrances, until I made the acquaintance of Dolce Gabbana pour Femme, and now I had to bump Velvet Orchid off into my top 10 list. But she is still a very important lady to me.
