And yet another fragrance has reached me that I didn't know before, that I'm very excited about and that also fits my taste. MA GRIFFE is recognizable as a green fragrance in the base, but I have more fragrances that, in my opinion, are much greener.
Nevertheless (WHAT a word) it is similar to the dry, unsweet perfumes, it comes across as quite harsh, once again I can't smell any flowers. Sometimes that's a shame, because there are already many beautiful ones listed in the heart note that I like. Like jasmine, rose, lily of the valley, but I can't smell them.

I can't say whether this is an 80s or 90s fragrance (it's certainly not from the 40s), the bottle looks exactly like the photo here. I never used to have it, so I can't say whether it's vintage, but I assume it is, because the fragrance lasts a very long time. - Unfortunately, that's not often the case these days -

It's really strange, I've been wearing it for a while now and suddenly I have a slight floral hint in my nose, that's not possible. Initially just tart and now floral, a very interesting observation that I already had with "Indian Summer".

The fragrance is pleasant to wear if you like this tartness, but after a while it turns and becomes more of a soft focus with a small floral note.
It's not too expensive either, so you could save the more precious chypre for a special occasion. I say could, because that's not my style, I also wear it in "normal" everyday life. :-)

Well, I like hyacinth, but I can't smell any. I like lilac, but none of them can be smelled.
To cut a long story short, I like a lot of the fragrances listed here, but none of them are smellable to me.

Somehow the fragrance is difficult to capture, or to put into words. But what I can still smell is oakmoss, sandalwood and vetiver. They are and remain in my nose, no matter how long I sniff them.

But that's okay, because I like them too, except for vetiver, which is sometimes too harsh, but it's not so noticeable here.

All in all, an absolutely woody fragrance, which in turn leaves absolutely no sweetness. My conclusion: yellow-woody, slightly smoky - could also pass as unisex.

To my surprise, it finishes powdery, which is probably the ambergris. Does not smell very long, you should spray several times, then you have something of the, already very well made, fragrance.

Hay chypre, that's what I like to call it. A completely new experience, because the hay should already be in by late fall (even in good weather), at least in North America where this famous Indian summer exists. The forests there glow beautifully golden, yellow and dark green in the autumn sun.

And golden yellow with brown speckles, that's how I see this scent.

You can still smell a little bit of sandalwood. Which I find amazing, because the fragrance is a mini and already very old, after all, it dates back to the 70s. It is also spicy and there is a minimal scent of forest green, but I have no idea what that might be.

Then the oakmoss comes out very strongly and lingers until the sandalwood, golden-brown finish. Yes, this eau de cologne is golden brown and a little smoky and absolutely unsweet, and it lasts an astonishingly long time.

This fragrance is worth testing several times, because it keeps drifting in a different direction. At first I didn't have too many floral associations, but now I imagine that I do smell something, but more like a peony that has just faded, no longer smells so fragrant and is slowly breathing its last on a bed of cedar wood. But I could be wrong!

They still exist, the good, old, fine chypre fragrances, you can find them in the depths of the internet and have to fork out quite a bit for the tiny bottles; but I think they are worth every penny.

This is a fragrance in a class of its own and, although it is an EdC, it has a radiance that leaves me in awe. Not a floral scent, not a flatterer, it's a harsh green scent, possibly very tiring for some, but for me a dream, once again - a chypre dream, - unfortunately I can't think of anything else.
With ingredients that no longer exist today, at least not in THAT form. (I have the exact bottle pictured here, so definitely vintage).

I had also tested the EdT version, but it didn't convince me at the time. Strangely enough, I'm very enthusiastic about the eau de cologne, that's it, at least for today and for me.

I wear the fragrance with my head held high, because it is not for "duck mice" If you are looking for something delicate, this is not the right place for you.

The top and heart notes can no longer be determined, only the base comes through for me. And it has it all: oakmoss and patchouli stick their "necks" out, compete with each other, a little leather is also mixed in here and musk completes the possible severity of this fragrance with a soft hand.

I can also imagine this green-tart Dior, which totally fits in with my prey scheme, on a man, unless he prefers sweet fragrances.
And the longevity is phenomenal, some eau de parfums or pure perfumes (at least on my skin) don't have this hold, simply wonderful.

I am once again in heaven, glad that I dared to order this blind.

Yes, I admit it, I'm a self-confessed 70s fan. The fragrances of that time shaped me, I know, I know.

I had Alliage with two LLs pretty soon. I scraped together the little bit of money I had saved at the time and bought a bottle. Of only 15 ml, I couldn't afford more, so it was quickly emptied. When I could, I bought more, again and again. This went on for a few years until I discovered Chanel Cristalle. Then THAT was my fragrance (it still is today, - but enough about that).

This is a vintage perfume that is really only made for people who like green chypre fragrances. If you prefer powdery, fruity or rather sweet scents, you're not in the right place.

Alliage is so green-chypry, I have to admit that I can't smell anything individually because I'm far too biased. I love this fragrance (although I've given it away before, sheep), I'll always love it and now especially when the warm, hot days come, because I'll be wearing it a lot, I already know that.
