this scent gives me the worst headaches imaginable. i received it as a sample and the moment i sniffed it, i recoiled.

it literally smells like what restaurants put in their toilet bowls to keep them smelling clean. its a synthetic lemon (i guess?) and sugary blast of pure HATE. and me being the frugal gal that i am, decided to pour in over my vacuum filter in order to perhaps scent the home while i cleaned.

WORST. IDEA. EVER.

i had to open every window and try to air the place out. i have no idea wtf FRESH was thinking putting this out on the market. it reminds me of those home scents that just overwhelm your senses and make you nauseous. nest amazon lily is in the same category. just NO. no no no. users beware.

sandalwood? check! tuberose? check! a tangy fruit top note? check!

now this is more like it. the One was just meh but DESIRE is one sexy frag! i'm guessing the amber and the caramel "darken" it for evenings and although i'm not a huge fan of sweet scents, the sandalwood seems to blend everything together beautifully, rounding out any sharp edges so its not overtly sweet just quietly so.

ETA: after wearing this last night in the cold, this was actually way too "sticky sweet" for me personally. so just a heads up.

the black bottle and gold lettering are just visually stunning as well, this would make a wonderful gift. quite romantic.

i cannot rave enough about margot elena's love&toast line. her complex yet utterly simple scents are some of the best (and inexpensive) niche juices i have come across. and at $10 a roller ball, the entire collection is within everyone's financial reach!

these are delightful STOCKING STUFFERS!!!!

JUNIPER GIN is .27 fl ounces of pure, crisp, juniper and lime blossom goodness. its cool and refreshing immediately upon application. it's green "true to life" juniper scent is balanced by zesty lemon and salt, i swear to you, it sparkles on my skin. just perfect for moments when you need a blast of "pick me up" perfume. its aroma-therapeutic qualities could lift the most lowliest of moods, i keep it in my satchel for just such purposes.

i refreshed myself with a quick swipe of this roller ball on my way home... while sitting FOREVER at a red light... i kept thinking to myself...

i knew i had something already in my wardrobe that smelled exactly like it. i just KNEW it! so there i sat waiting for the light to turn green.. *sniff sniff* what the.... ??? *sniff sniff* and then it hit me: BABY DOLL BY YSL.

i of course raced home and fragrantica'ed it and check it out, they have quite a few notes in common:

top note is black current, middle note is rose and base notes are cedar and sandalwood. yeah of course there are other notes that they don't have in common but i'm telling you all right now, this scent is pretty much dead on the same as baby doll. both are sticky, icky sweet... young, cloying and really StRonG!!!

this was me today at work in my harshly lit, cramped cubicle...

*stops... deeply inhales ruby red, tangy, tart, HEAVENLY sugared grapefruit, closes eyes, travels to some hidden place inside my own head*

INNNNHHHHAAAALLLLLING... *smiles*

*opens eyes, sees everyone else in the is office staring at me.. *

*coughs*

gets back to work .... *tap-tap-tipitty-tap*
