Since there are currently also more expensive niche fragrances again and again at amazingly good prices, I get the pleasure to test significantly more new candidates than normal. One of my latest acquisitions : Le Labo Bergamotte 22.

This fragrance gives real competition to big cologne classics like Farina. However, Le Labo smells more highly condensed, fresh, sporty. And although the fragrance delivers not a whiff, but a concentrated load of bergamot freshness, it does not falter in the nose. Generated from a cheaper oil, that could have been exactly true. In the quality delivered, the perfume is an absolute delight. The 100 ML will be quickly empty (provided the sun shines again as in 2020). ?

This fragrance is simply the best explanation why there are / must be niche fragrances. After the first spraying (6-7 x squeezed) I wondered.... "such an expensive fragrance and I smell almost nothing". But this initial disappointment turned after 15 minutes. It felt to me like this fragrance needed to warm up - come up to speed. In a drugstore - where customers decide on a purchase after the first 5 seconds - and usually return home with top note shoddy packages, this composition would have been discontinued immediately. The top note is downright shy wallflower. But then ... the sandalwood builds to a wave - so pleasant and clenched .... you can hardly get enough of it. The drydown ends ... "never."

Opens with a veritable Easter procession - myrrh as far as the eye can see. However, in a certain freshness, which makes me abstractly think of "incense flowers".
A fragrance for 39€ ... would have to lose its magic after 10 minutes and collapse into a sweetish, artificial uniformity mud ... but far from it. The fragrance holds out, works diligently on, subordinates its incense note leisurely and then slowly gives way to the really high-quality sandalwood, which steers the fragrance in a much softer direction. It makes me think of white linen and white musk - but still attribute the tone to the starkly high quality sandalwood. The cocaine note (olibanum?) is only very subordinate among the accords - no longer as herbaceous as a joint in this scent.... rather like a touch of fresh cigarette smoke.

Direct comparison to White Ash: white Ash is harder, simpler, wilder, very wearable in its own way. Like a hard but straight played punk rock earworm, in the style of:

White Intense, on the other hand, is warmer, no less harsh, but much more multi-faceted and friendly. Smells more like the song
Malibu by Hole ... like a convertible ride on the Ocean Pacific Highway from LA towards Zuma Beach, with a cool punk rock song on the radio, while the sun shines in your face and the Atlantic Ocean reflects the light from the left

A very pleasant incense note that transforms into a stark top note with soft citrus notes and light florals. Caution: danger of addiction. Very lightly, the herbaceous cocaine core note throbs through again, adding a touch of harshness to this very pleasant scent. Durability? I've only had the scent for 2 days - so far the drydown remains stubbornly and brilliantly pleasant on my scarf. Living up to a niche scent, not only is the top note good, but the entire progression to the drydown - pleasant and delicious. A Rammstein fragrance that many ladies will find good, which he - as strange as it may sound: "mystically fresh" smells - while also the men come at their expense, who are looking for a really special personal touch.

With this fragrance Rammstein has removed any doubt of creating serious niche fragrances. Following in the footsteps of Black Ash - this scent is also a condensation of mystical incense, somehow it makes me think of pleasant pipe tobacco and pickled, embalmed fruit. If Black Ash were a speaker, it would be the midrange speaker and Black Intense would be the deep bass subwoofer in comparison. At the same time elegant, dark, mystical, tender and brutal. Why 100 ML don't cost 100€, only Rammstein knows.
