What is the best way to start?
4711 cologne is a classic that no perfume collection should be without. The price is great, but we won't be friends.
The fragrance starts with a freshness that smells soapy and sweet at the same time. You can definitely smell the lemon and bergamot in the foreground. The lavender wants to join the party and only appears after the second drink; after just under 10 minutes, the freshness disappears and a sweetness that I find unpleasant comes to the fore; unfortunately, the cologne doesn't last long on my skin and I can no longer perceive any fragrance notes after just under 20 minutes.
I personally use it after shaving as an aftershave.
The fragrance smells too old-fashioned to me, but I must emphasize that this is not a bad thing. It's just my personal opinion. There are also very good old-fashioned perfumes, such as Fahrenheit, which I love. However, I can chase my relatives with this perfume. Everyone has different noses :-D!
My opinion was also confirmed by friends and acquaintances when they asked me what smelled so funny. My aunt's first reaction was: Did you take the cologne from Grandma's cupboard?
On the one hand, it's cool that cologne has a recognizable feature and sticks in people's minds! Hats off, you have to manage that first!
Be that as it may. It's not my cup of tea, but there are much worse perfumes that stink really bad, and cologne doesn't do that!

Layton was my second PDM fragrance after Herod. Layton is a very sweet scent that is good to wear in the fall or winter. The projection is mega, so I can only advise you not to wear this scent in the office.
The vanilla is in combination with the apple a very creamy fragrance note.
For me, the fragrance is perfect for a pub night and a few beers.
(If you drink mulled wine, wear rather Herod, that fits better).
Layton is a good scent to stand out with. I can recommend Layton to anyone who likes sweeter scents and doesn't want to be too oriental.

The better Aventus swims and does not fly
For me, Viking is the clear winner compared to Aventus. I don't understand why Viking has a significantly lower rating compared to Aventus. Viking was my first Creed perfume and it flashed me right away. With Viking, you have a very unusual perfume. The pleasant peppermint in combination with Bulgarian rose and the fruity lemon result in a very good fragrance character. For me, Viking is a very exciting fragrance that will develop really well over time. In any case, it is more exciting than the toilet-stone fragrance Aventus. With Viking one stands out and is asked more often for the fragrance.

I have long given Aventus a chance, for me unfortunately futile.
Man I was hyped on this fragrance after my first Creed fragrance (Viking) has completely blown me away.... (Review is still pending). I was looking forward to Aventus like a little kid. When it arrived, I opened the package with full anticipation, and pressed the spray button. Within 2 seconds, my face changed from : :-) to :,(. Is today the first of April, have I ordered perhaps yet a wrong fragrance or is it perhaps yet our citrus toilet stone that has strayed into my nose, were my first thoughts. Reading through the scent notes above I can only detect bergamot or lemon, lemon, lemon and ehhh I think lemon. It smells good, it's a good everyday scent, it gives compliments, but it's too boring for me unfortunately. After my fine nose got used to Aventus, I actually smelled a hint of pineapple. I don't recognize the blackcurrant, unfortunately. Not even after SpongeBob said: Use your fantasy. Aventus evolves after time and becomes more lemony in my opinion. Please do not misunderstand, I like Aventus, but he is *yawn* boring.

It smells a little too artificial, slightly chemical. Unfortunately this smell is nothing special, but a smell you have smelled many times before. I would not buy this perfume again.
