Problem or solution? Well, both!
"My name is hero father - and I have a problem"
"Hello hero father."

Sometimes I am tormented by the thought that I now already have more perfumes than I can ever wear.
And yet:
My collection grows and grows...
...and there seems to be no end in sight.

The goal is to build as complete a collection as possible, covering all moods, all weather conditions, all occasions, and all audiences.
Is that possible? No. Is that a bad thing? No! Because the journey is the destination...

As extensive as my collection is, though, there are perfumes that I reach for over and over again - and Moustache is one of them.
What a fragrance!

So warm, so soft, so round and classy.
Of all the stated ingredients, I smell at most the wood and benzoin out; mandarin, pepper or even rose I do not smell at all - but is not bad at all. The perfume is so harmonious and beautifully composed that you have to get it again and again from the shelf - and want to smell again and again.

I prefer to wear it when it's heading towards autumn, but in theory you can wear it all year round. And for any occasion - whether in a casual T shirt or a shirt.
In summary: a great fragrance, versatile and all-weather.

If you now still pull the price into the calculation, there is no way around Moustache.

Moustache is a really very good perfume, which has quickly become one of my favorites - an absolute recommendation!

Melancholy
"Melancholia refers to a mood of mind characterized by melancholy, pain, sadness, or pensiveness, usually not due to any particular trigger or cause."

You can find this definition if you search for it in a major dictionary.

For me, it's a feeling that starts in the gut and floods the whole body - evoking a comfortable, beautiful state that has nothing to do with sadness or pain.

Memoir Man embodies this feeling like few other perfumes.

When I wear it, it feels like that time I walked slowly and slightly shivering past the cemetery - mist, leaves on the ground, collar turned up and music in my ears, a feeling somewhere between discomfort and pure happiness.

Memoir Man is herbaceous, green and woody, it smells like fog, autumn and.... yes, kind of like a church pew.

Am I wearing the perfume to feel this way, or am I wearing it when I feel this way? Hard to say.
But I do like wearing it. Not often, no - and not to get compliments (they stay away, pretty sure). But I do like wearing it.

For me, it's a must-have piece, niche par excellence - really beautiful!

Smile at the touch of a button
Over the course of the last year, my collection has grown in size and cost - statements and comments became samples, samples became bottles, and these joined the others piece by piece.

Am I done? Rather not.

But what I have found is that I keep reaching for the perfumes that do something to me, that put me in a certain mood, that make me happy - and Bleu de Chanel is such a perfume.

There are more exclusive ones, there are higher quality, more expensive and better ones, yes, yes, yes and YES.

But when it gets warmer outside and I need a good feeling, I like to reach for this scent often.

The start is fresh, strong and spicy due to the grapefruit and the woody undertones - a kick start to the day!

In the course, it quickly softens, while the pleasant freshness remains - the fragrance gains in substance and depth.

With a solid durability and a good radiance, he accompanies me almost through the whole workday - and even in the evening he is still perceptible on me.

Bleu de Chanel is a small phenomenon for me - an everyday happiness maker, which has not let itself get down over the last decade - and that despite younger and qualitatively higher-quality competition.

As often as I wear it, I'm fine - that's why it will probably be able to maintain its place in my collection permanently

The best mistake of the year!
Are you annoyed by other people's mistakes?

Me yes - and especially those that have an impact on me.

Today was such a mistake. An expensive mistake - and I'm so glad that I want to share it with you.

To start the story early enough, but not too early: I started my small collection of perfumes in March of this year and I have firmly resolved to keep it manageable - if not for the sake of money, then for the sake of domestic peace alone...

Over the years I have tested all the fragrances that I think are of value and so my collection grew piece by piece. In the end there were only three higher priced ones: Jubilation 25, Royal Oud and Original Santal.

Then came the highest secular holiday this year, Black Friday - and there I got an offer I couldn't refuse: I bought all three and both Creed fragrances were available for 50 Euro less than normal.
From Italy indeed and with longer delivery time... Nevertheless: I had to

In the end, I waited just under 2 weeks.

Today the waiting came to an end: the postman rang twice and the package was there.

There they were: beautifully packaged... and wrongly delivered.
Royal Oud was there - fortunately, I wanted him in any case.
But the other was Silver Mountain Water! Never tested. For a price that was, in spite of the offer, very reasonable

Now what? Send it back and wait 4 weeks?

Spray on and hope.

And what can I say?
A revelation!
Sensational!
Terrific!
A dream!!

Silver Mountain Water is a fresh, pure, highly pleasing fragrance!

At the beginning citric freshness, clear like the name-giving mountain river and refreshing like a bath in it.

Right from the start, this creed shows its own exclusive smelling freshness, which you know from its siblings like Millesime Imperial - and the fear of underground durability that comes with it, I can dispel at this point: it's clearly above it.

Over time, the warmer, woody tones will come through - without Silver Mountain Water losing its freshness.

Until the end, the fragrance radiates an exclusive, fabulously pleasing aura - and it smells like no other fragrance I know of, by no means generic or boring.

Conclusion:
Silver Mountain Water is a great scent - fresh like a mountain river, beautiful like the sun reflected in it and an absolute recommendation.

Best mistake I ever made in perfume!

The underdog does not always have to win
If something or someone is on everyone's lips, is considered everybody's darling or doesn't want to turn off the winning road at all, I usually at least ignore them. If he's lucky. Otherwise he is fought with all means.

My sympathy and often enough love belongs to the losers, the classic underdogs.

This - and only this - is the explanation for the fact that I have been digging deep into my pockets for a good three quarters of a year in order to delight myself and my environment with scents, but have consistently looked past Layton, the breeding stallion of the PDM stables.

Luckily, I left that alone for this one time

Layton is pleasing - yes.
Layton is mainstream niche - yes.
Layton is everybody's darling - yes.
But Layton is one thing above all: incredibly great!

Such a beautiful, round, soft, fresh and pleasant fragrance is rarely found!

The course is really dreamlike: light and apple-fresh it starts, changes softly into vanilla and ends with warm sandalwood - nothing sensationally surprising, nothing that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions...
... but something so consistently beautiful and of such high quality that every critic is at a loss for words.

Layton is absolutely perfect. And if he seems to be perfect to one or the other ZU, then this is quite rightly not his problem.

Layton has taken my heart by storm and has earned his place on my shelf!
