Soft and cuddly
Perfect Veil is a soft, cuddly, comforting and pleasant scent. It is slightly powdery and sweet, very gentle and reminds me of a clean and fluffy pure white cotton blanket.

The scent opens with a touch of lemon and musk. Then as it develops, the slight sweet and powdery notes of vanilla and musk come to the surface. The scent is light but it lasts for hours. The soft sandalwood scent in the base notes is very comforting.

This is a nice scent all around. Light and unobtrusive, it is definitely can be used in the situation when heavy scents are not acceptable. I find it to be a bit plain for my taste but I did enjoy wearing a sample.

Pretty Pink Rose
This is a second rose perfume I tried from The Different Company. The first one, Rose Poivree, was unusual and interesting, but unfortunately it did not work for me. Kashan Rose is quite opposite. It is certainly a nice and very pleasant scent to wear, but at the same time there is nothing new or unusual here. I thought that Kashan rose would be an exotic oriental beauty but this rose is a sweet and good-natured girl next door – nothing exotic but very sunny, happy and charming.

The scent opens with a lovely combo of rose, lychee and peony. It smells pleasant and fresh. I thought that there was also a bit of sparkly citrus in it at first. The scent is just simply pretty and happy. Thankfully, it does not smell synthetic like many modern scents with this combo. As the scent develops, the rose becomes stronger. A little bit of hawthorn is a nice touch. The scent stays close to the skin towards the dry down. The dry down is a light rose and sandalwood.

This one I think is a crowd-pleaser. It is light and pretty and could easily be worn as everyday scent for work and leisure. And though I did not find this scent groundbreaking, I enjoyed a lot wearing it. Overall score 8/10.

Iris with not so sweet personality…at first
It was a dark and stormy night when I stood in front of a cold castle with the gates decorated in Gothic ornaments of iris flowers intertwined with metal spikes and thistles. To walk in or not to walk in…This was the question. I took the plunge and when I walked inside, the castle turned out to be quite a nice place, a bit Gothic but comforting, elegant and in its own way charming. Iris Noir is like that - at first it is cold, dark and overpowering but the harsh opening hides a lovely scent inside.

So this is definitely a patchouli bomb at first. My hubby cannot stand the opening. I have to let it to settle for 10 min at least before he will let me anywhere near him. I love patchouli so I kind of dig this razor-sharp dark personality of Iris Noir but this is an acquired taste and not for everyone. The coriander also adds to its earthy darkness. When the scent settles in, it becomes quite beautiful and well-balanced. There is a seductive vibe from the patchouli which I find quite sensual intertwined with cool and regal iris. The heart notes are woody spicy with very smooth and sophisticated iris. It is a bit powdery but in a very luxurious way. The scent has a decent longevity and a medium sillage.

My advice – try before you buy. I personally find it quite sexy, but my hubby disagrees. I think for the price it is very well-made scent that has a unique personality. I also love the fact that it does not smell synthetic and generic like many modern scents from this price range. Overall score 7/10.

Unbridled Passion of a Tuberose
There are perfumes that completely transform your perspective when you wear them. Carnal Flower was one of them. It redeemed the tuberose in my eyes (or shall I say - my nose). Tuberose was never my favorite. I found that once tuberose is added to the mix, it makes the scent too loud and most of the time well, vulgar... And if there is an attempt to tame the tuberose, then the end result is a generic light scent that loses its luscious quality. Well, Carnal Flower proved me wrong. It managed to reveal the bold and exotic essence of the tuberose, while remaining classy and elegant. The tuberose is not a shy flower, it never will be, and Carnal Flower shows the tuberose in all its glory: sensual, passionate and stunningly attractive.

Carnal Flower is loaded with the tuberose but somehow this heady and intoxicating scent always stays fresh and abundantly green. Dominique Ropion uses the eucalyptus and orange blossom in the opening to balance the tuberose. Ingenious idea that works beautifully in this composition. The eucalyptus is not a usual note to use in the perfumes, but here it brings the woody aromatic effect and creates a luscious jungle backdrop for the tuberose. In the middle notes, Dominique adds a bit of tropical fruits and ylang-ylang to the mix to continue with the tropical ambiance of this scent. But really there are no other flowers or fragrances to compete or overshadow the tuberose in this scent. The stage is set and the tuberose is the star. Wild, passionate, seductive and bold….Be prepared for it is going to steal your heart forever.

The fragrance has formidable sillage and longevity. I only put a few drops and I am ready to go. The quality of ingredients is great and the composition is masterful, unique and mesmerizing.

Dominique Ropion, I bow before your talent. I love this scent and I think it is worth the hefty price tag. Overall score 10/10.

Run-of-the-mill fruity floral
Tocca perfumes always impressed me with their lovely and unique compositions, so I had high expectations for Liliana. In this light, I find that Liliana is a bit disappointing to me. It is girly, light and easy-to-wear fruity floral, but there is a slight synthetic edge to the floral notes and the composition is not as polished as their other scents. On a positive side, the scent is soft, feminine and gentle with an abstract floral bouquet that will not offend anyone or cause allergies. It works great for everyday activities and work place. A bit underwhelming, but totally safe and friendly.

What I love the most about this scent is the peach opening. It lasts only a few minutes, but, as long as it lasts, I really enjoy sparkly, sweet and bright bubblegum-like peach cloud. Many other reviewers mentioned gardenia as a central note but on my skin this is a big bouquet of peonies with just a touch of lily-of-the-valley. I do smell a bit of gardenia but more as a background layer. Patchouli is noticeable too in the heart notes but unfortunately it does not flow into the base. The base notes are rather boring, as the fragrance turns into a generic, synthetic floral scent that does not have much substance.

I don’t mind wearing this scent, but I would not be acquiring a bull bottle after my sample runs out. I already have tons of perfumes in my collection which remind me of this perfume.
